The name "Modeselektor" is taken from a function on the Roland RE-201 Space Echo.

The original sample is from Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi - Black Barbie). It was released on EP in 2005 but Modeselektor remixed it in 2004, what's the big deal? You CAN remix a song even if it isn't released to the public, ever heard of dubplates for example?

This song is actually called "Black Barbie (Modeselektor Rmx)" and it's by Jahcoozi.  Sorry to burst a bubble.

"Labland DVD" was out in year 2004, and the "black barbie" EP was out in 2005.So i don't think it's possible to make a remix of a song which doesn't exist yet!

This song is #5 on the Labland DVD which I think was also released in 2005 and its labeled "Tits of My Origin." Modeselektor and Pfadfinderei are the main artists on this DVD. Modeselektor and Sasha Perera (from Jahcoozi) have worked together. The vocals from this song are from Black Barbie by Sasha Perera.
