Hi like the music & among the list of players on the listings I don`t see mine. I have a Columbia Viva- Tonal Grafonola, floor standing, wind up, the volume controls are 4 wooden slats that open. the player has a beautiful sound & my vast collection of 78s[all genre`s] play well. I have 3 or 4 more that I can play 78s on as well but the Grafonola is the pride & .Joy
Great sound. I am working on building some of the recording equpment used to make these 52,000 dds. Someday I want to make new Diamond Discs, they could be made of epoxy today.
This is the greatest video I have yet seen on YouTube!!! I have a Schubert Edisonic which I purchased on Ebay, but didn't notice that it was amputated! But it still plays just like your Beethoven. Can't wait to hear Ron Dethlefson's Beethoven at our Golden State Phonograph Society meeting next month! That's the best version of "Somebody Stole My Gal" that I've ever heard! I think I'll make a video of my Schubert soon. Thanks!!! Marc.
Glad you enjoyed it Marc! With a good Edisonic reproducer your Schubert has the same mechanics in it as the Beethoven and would sound just as great. it's amazing how the electrics make you feel the artists are right in the room. Although not electric, my kids love "Kitten on the Keys". Have fun at the Phono meeting! Regards
I was just at Dick Carty's house who wrote the book on Billy Murray. He had a letter and other correspondence from Clarence Ferguson. I took a picture of a 1955 letter from Ferguson to Mr. Carty. Marc.
The electric Diamond Discs play incredibly well. Surface voice was all but non-existant in the D.D.'s last days. It pains me when I think back to the years when Clarence A. Ferguson of Merrill, Wis.---the last Edison jobber who had a warehouse full of "new" discs and cylinders 30 years after the company ceased record production---could and would supply any electric D.D. that I wanted, and I only bought operatic Blue Amerols. How short-sighted I was when young!

Nice, but what is Beethoven about this Edison machine?

Hi, It is just the model name given by Edison to this new Edisonic style machine. The smaller sister machine's model name is Shubert. Regards Moo

Best wishes in that noble task! I know many collectors that prize them and fresh recording would be wonderful!

If we only had a time machine - I'd give you a list of records to bring back for me, too!

Wow! Hard to believe this is an acoustic phonograph. I want to see a showdown between this machine and a Victor Credenza!
