  • This is beautiful. No homo

  • @giraffepimp what is hell is homo about that? jesus. Its music ffs.

  • damn.

  • no one can compare with malkmus.. Even adele is chasing pavement. typical whore who thinks shes this legendary. YOU'LL ALWAYS BE CHASING PAVEMENT YOu FUCKING SLUT

  • Man I hate when people complain about how many views a video has.

But in all honesty HOW DOES THIS VIDEO NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS?!

  • especialy love that one

  • @hmanzify the live version is 'smoking marijuana doing blotters I don't know which'

  • My favorite band, and yeah I'm 17

  • @DomSaget HEY DOM BIG WOOP, NOBODY GIVES A SHIT.

  • if you are 17 and you already know how great pavement is...i guess there's hope

  • Forever and ever... grounded!!!

  • soaking up the fauna doing blotters i dont know which is the greatest lyric ever

  • @hmanzify

    I'd agree

  • @hmanzify The original lyric for it was "smoking marijuana doing blotters" but for some reason they changed it. Still good either way though haha!

  • @drumsofthunder32 and we could really give a fuck

  • BOYS ARE DYIN ON THESE STREETSSS gets me every time, damn i love this song

  • The guitar sounds like a piano. Pavement's a waterfall, a cascade of sonic pleasure.

  • two people seem to have their thumbs (down) in their ass.

  • Favorite Pavement song!

  • this is bloody perfection

  • is it official version of this song?

  • i have been listening to pavement "casually" for like 4 years and i dont even underdstand how i missed this song lol its probably my favorite one by them

  • One of my favorite pavement songs.

  • Contract Bridge is a real game, people!!

  • @RomanWildernessOfPain. "Persian"? Whuteryou, a fucking rug? A cat maybe? Calling yourself a Persian is like me calling myself a Gaelic-Saxon, just pretentious. Just type in Persia on Wikipedia and see where it directs. I understand shouting "I'm Iranian!" would probably draw comments from ignorant rednecks, but still. You don't here many Germans calling themselves Prussian or Turks proudly exclaiming "I'm Ottoman, you fool!"

  • yes mother fuck

  • I can't stop listening to this song today. This is about the 10th time I'm playing it, coincidentally after having a conversation about greedy doctors today.

  • North West London has always approved .

  • 1 disliked because he himself is grounded :P

  • Something happened in the 90's - something awesome.

  • But did you hear about Blue Zoltan getting fired?

  • @7the7Seven7 dude fuck yeah!! BJM aaalll ddaayyy!!

  • used to do a girl who smoked too much weed to this song

  • i have to stop hitting the repeat button. my hands ache.

  • this song makes me want to go on top of my house and just scream fuck as loud and as long as i can

  • sooo goooood it makes me want to weep with happiness

doctors leaving for the holiday season...

  • no dislikes?..what a surprise............

  • Funny thing is, I'm the dude in the Brooklyn reunion show video of this song yelling Grounded.

Anyway, compared to the other performances of the song on that tour, we got the best, not gonna lie ha, favorite song too :D.

Fun to play too on the guitar.

  • I'm 17 and have had 90's music all around me because of my older brother ever since i was born. This is the greatest band that has ever lived. I saw them in Chicago so now I can die.

  • @jessecon1993 Im 16 and I missed them when they were in my town, probly wont ever see them now I guess,......

  • @jessecon1993 ya can't die till you see guided by voices. and ya can't see guided by voices till you're 21. go get em tiger

  • @Zombien20 as much as i love Pavement, Pollard really has no peers.

  • @Zombien20 good call, I saw GBV on a pier in NYC a few years ago, one of the best shows i've ever seen

  • @GuruBabadesh i would if i could!

  • @Zombien20 me too! Fuck i missed pavements tour of australia last year. Life over.

  • @Zombien20 true

  • @jessecon1993 I'm 17 too. Too bad i had to find all the great bands on my own (i'm the oldest). Don't die too soon, there's alot more good music to be loved.

  • @jessecon1993 the gretest band that has ever lived? lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @jessecon1993

    You Rock!!! Cheers!

I saw them at Hollywood Bowl last year and feel the same way. :D

  • @jessecon1993 You live for pavement? Wow, you settle for less. Go for a run, go backpacking in Central Asia, make love to an Eastern European women. This is just the beginning of zen. Upgrade, listen to the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

  • @RomanWildernesOfPain

"Go for a run, go backpacking in Central Asia, make love to an Eastern European women"

Listen I like this song, stop proving to everyone that it's for bourgie white douchebags

  • @roymondlafonte Coming from someone like you, that means entirely nothing. Why would you even make a comment like that? Hating on proud men who have a lust for life, who yearn for depth and meaning? In contrast to hipster slime like you that spend their time in lame bar conversations with busted ass women with nose piercings and slag tags drinking your PBR. Get the fuck off my back gnat. I am your master. I am Persian you piss ant fool.

  • @RomanWildernesOfPain

    Thats not very zen :-/

  • @RomanWildernesOfPain BJM is pretty damn good. I listen to both ya know? whatever's good.

  • @jessecon1993 shut the fuck up you cunt

  • I wish modern indie-bands were this indie.

  • @gloomandglow

Agree, most bands considered "indie" now just release the same sort of whiny Starbucks music. Not that nothing can sound like that, I just wish that more bands that are influenced by Pavement would have as much balls as they did

  • @sushilll111

your a fuckin idiot , bands having more balls than they did ur a fuckin idiot

people do what they like and not what other faggets think fake btich

  • @blackoil911

    ...alright?

  • I could listen to Pavement forever.

  • best video ever seen

  • 0 dislikes. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

  • fantastic

  • Dude this song is fucking trippy.

  • I love 90's. It's impossible to be indifferent when you heard songs of the greatest bands of 90's. Pavement is one of these.... 90's... come back here and save the world!

  • from the slow bursting riff that builds up and fizzles out to the mellow relaxing reverberations and the weird surreal lyrics this is one of the greatest songs i have ever heard in my life.

  • @TheM4tthew X-fucking-actly

  • @zombien20 great¡ pfno is a really awesome record. guitars and lyrics make the universe proud to exist. glad to see a fan here.

  • @oscillatewildly9 and built to spill?

  • @ValJesternity oh shit dude. I have perfect from now on alongside slanted and enchanted in my vehicle right now. so rad you mentioned them just now. life is sweet

  • try to find people getting along like this on a justin bieber youtube video. Seeing all the encouragement is fucking awesome. The 90's were so laid back. Man, what a time for music. You gave me faith in humanity again this morning ::takes a sip of coffee::

  • @ValJesternity

interesting to note that i got really into both these bands at the same time

  • @ValJesternity built to spill, mmmmhmmmmm ;-)

  • this is so 90s i dont know what to do

  • love this!

  • first time i heard this was amateur 01.. sick era

  • this is an amazing song, i miss music like this nowadays, i think everyone is tired of the mainstream shit that's sounding right now.

    i also vote for a 90s revival

  • This is such a beautiful song, one of my favourite Pavement songs out of the ones I've heard. Thanks for sharing this, I'm gonna go buy the album now...

  • i saw them in chicago at pitchfork 3 days ago. they had christmas lights behind them. not small bulb'd ones -- but the large ones. i guess a bulb string would be the better word.

and they dimmed at the beginning of this song. and 17 seconds in

    boom.

i was two people from the front. and i had been waiting 12 years for that moment.

  • I got to hang out with these guys in the 90's in Brisbane & it was an awesome gig, they were absolutely fab & funny guys too. I love this band!!

  • I got to hang out with the band in Vermont at the end of the Brighten the Corners tour, the band and Stephen were not speaking. It felt like horrible like seeing your parents getting divorced.

  • @J23yrne how come they wernt speaking?

  • @guitarsticker1

Pavement was in the process of breaking up.

  • @J23yrne oh :( i kinda figured that i just didnt wanna believe it haha

  • I bought Wowee Zowee when it came out in 95, and funny thing is it felt as if music journalists/critics didn't really like it too much.

Truthfully though, I think it isn't so much that they didn't like it but more that they didn't get it.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. my best friends are in a band, do a cover of it - listening to them bust this tune is the best.

  • it is so relaxing to listen too. I can't stop listening to it....

  • lol Pixies much on the guitar?? ahh beautiful though :)

  • @Vertin464-- Yeah I do hear Pixies to some degree. But Joey Santiago's style is greatly different than Malkmus' style. During that time period when Pavement was emerging, though, what band other than Pixies was making good rock n roll? So, if Pavement copied Pixies a lil bit, then no biggie. Pixies fucking changed rock during that time. Anyway, I'm possibly still riding the high I got off of seeing them at Palladium in LA last November for the Doolittle reunion tour.

  • @zackjmack what day did you go? i was there

  • @zackjmack A few were making good rock music in the Pixies time.

  • Its only bands like PAVEMENT and EARTH CULTURE that really know how to kick ass!!

  • i wish people still made music like this.

  • @oscillatewildly9 does modest mouse count?

  • @GreenShoes13 yeah they're pretty good. must just be british music that sucks. apart from graham coxon.

  • @oscillatewildly9 i like muse

  • @GreenShoes13 i like foals

  • i like muse there just highly over rated

  • My favourite song of Wowee Zowee.

  • Oh god I'm so excited. I'm seeing them on Friday =)!

  • @manyeyeshere how was it? im gonna see them on may :)

  • @TheNimasan They were AMAZING. Most entertaining band I've ever seen live and they sound better than their albums. I wonder if they'll bring up golf ethics again?

  • amazing song!!

  • i listen to pavement when im trashing the urban dreamscape

  • great fuckin song great fuckin band. Bring it back!

  • And no one believes me when I say Pavement Ist Rad! Tis a shame, everyone I know just thinks of them as some washed up, has-been, indie band that is only kept alive by old-timey hipsters.

this is pure bliss put in the form of song, everytime Malkmus croaks "Boys are dying in these streets", my heart breaks a little, just amazingly sublime music

  • @SOADafi That line makes swell with emotion as well.

  • sweet jesus, the 90's are 20 years old. Time for Pavement's music to make a vintage comeback.

  • i KNOW. god, it's frightening. thanks for posting this. it's one of my favorite songs by them.

  • @Zombien20 they've playing coachella fest this year. that's a start..

  • @Zombien20

I just saw them live last night and it was Fucking Amazing!!!

The last piece of advice Stephen left the crowd with at the end of the set was "don't forget the 90s" ;)

  • @Zombien20 20 years...incredible :(

  • @Zombien20 They are, it is and they have!

  • Man, this is one of the best tracks on Wowee Zowee. That album is still my favorite after three years of listening to Pavement due to a sort of hipster friend of mine in High School.

I happened to be going through his Zune and found the cover of Brighten the Corners to be interesting, and the track title "Transport Is Arranged" was intriguing. Easily one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • i agree that the world is listening to crap but its nice to have a band as amazing as this that only you know about.

  • unlike the beatles or nirvana or even sonic youth to some extent.

  • @mmeb83 :O the beatles is the shit! (proper grammar)

  • Brilliance...what else can you say?!?

  • "Only 10% of our doctors went into it because they wanted to help others. The others did it for the money. Written for my personal physician and his cadre of German Automobiles." - Malkmus

  • Best band ever!

Can't wait May and Brixton Academy!

  • hello! i'm from Brazil and here we get stoned while driving around late at night and i'm glad people somewhere else have had the same experience! ahahaha!

i think explosions in the sky couldn't make it as cool as pavement, though... pavement is king!

  • Già, una delle band migliori di sempre..love

  • thanks for the recollection stonesmoke. Also does anybody hear explosions in the sky in this tune? funny how one song can influence a whole band.

  • This song makes me want to be tipsy, and sixteen again riding around in the back of a rusted, cadillac convertible, a warm august afternoon smoking and humming.

  • It actually gets better the more you listen to it!!!!!?

  • really? only 3,778 views? are you kidding me? what is wrong with the worlds taste in music

  • i know man everyone is listenin to crap these days.

  • @BIGMAYNEGREGG possibly listening to a jonas brothers song for the 30th time. Or Party in the USA.

  • See you in May

  • smoke causes cancer son, stay away from it. getting stoned awesome though.

  • @SimplyShadow haha ironic?

  • I love smoking a cigarette, after getting a little stoned, and cruising around the city looking at lights...This song makes it perfect.

  • Incredible

    Greatest band of all time

  • i can't wait for them to go on tour, they are immense and this song is a highlight from wowee imo

  • +1 to all of you here with such awesome taste.

This whole album was such a big shambling wonderful epic majestic mess & i'll always love it to bits.

  • @MonsieurBacon and it got a 2 1/2 stars from Rolling Stone. Sad, really.

  • im not sure if it was Pavement or not, but I saw a picture in a magazine a long time ago where it shows them wrapped in plastic, does anyone know where I can find this pic?

  • because it's PVMNT ! ;)

  • when i hear this live during the 2010 reunion tour (or doing blotters, i don't know which), i'll probably cry. how is it possible that such a simple guitar riff is so goddamn beautiful?

  • How were Oasis bigger than Pavement??

  • pavement rules

  • man this reminds me of hangin with my boys doin acid

  • @sourmilkman10: Hell yeah!

  • where's bob?

  • wow, 8 comments? are you fucking serious? this is CLASSIC music

  • talk about a classic that no one's ever heard

  • the best song off that album hands down. it is like a spring day that ends the world.

  • Favorite song ever in the history of all songs.

  • excellent song the best of wowee zowee!

  • i'm really honestley surprised that only 386 views have been had here

i come here everytime i'm on the computer!

anyhoo, great song. very very great song

  • I agree with U, great music is so underappreciated sometime, this is one of the best song of 90's!!!
