  • i bet he has 0 testosterone levels

  • Wait, did he even move? I guess I blinked and missed it.

  • Sure he has strength and what not but how about kirk karwoski actually doing it the harder way and walking it out. Standing in place is alot easier

  • @BigTito53 doesn't matter failure is failure. what's harder standing in place with a 1000lbs or walking out 500lbs? It's relative my friend. What's harder walking or running? How about walking for 8 hours and running for 8 seconds? See, it's relative. When you give 100% effort and take your body to it's limit, that's all that really counts.

  • This is not the record. Jonas Rantanen from Finland squatted 575 kg

  • So he squated his own bodyweight big deal.

  • @blackishlovah123 Exactly!

  • This video was uploaded on my birthday :)

  • Nice job Dawnny!

  • not fair, that guy is clearly not human, looks like a viking.

  • why does it look like going down was hard than coming up? hate power lifting gear. do it raw!

  • Looks like he's built perfectly for powerlifting

  • I cheated depth once

    and the rep didn't count.

  • My friend weighs -110 and squats 418,5kg and has the world record in total (benchpress, squat, deathlift) something like 1000 and ... kg,just curious how much this gauy weighs?

  • fuckin insane strength.

  • Yes, but how much can he squat?

  • Boo.

  • America is known for being so called "overweight" but there are a lot of weight lifters and and body builders like him in that class as well. he not fat, he's incredibly strong

  • @TecZero1000 weightlifters and bodybuilders make up .0000009% of the population... The reason people think Americans are fat is because 70% of the population is either overweight or obese...

  • Jus did 675 but now I feel like a Lil girl lol

  • Well done!

  • Who is the dumb bitch saying "Let's go Donnie, easy weight".

Fucks sake not only does that not help him lift anything, it's just plain stupid

  • I got 415lbs in the 10th grade

  • hey that's my gym!

  • lol i cant even do 260

  • Bearmode level 9001

  • In my view it's close to parallel but not quite, I'd say an inch high, but it's a hell of a weight. Overall an impressive lift.

  • im 10 and im preety sure i can bench 300 at least 10 times

  • @kluslgnolo Joke?

  • if someone runs a 100 meter dash and breaks the world record but isnt drug tested is it a world record? why doesnt this apply to all sports?

  • Comment removed

  • @SHOCKandAWEathletics i doubt hes 283kilos dude

  • Is there any clear, focused, unblocked film of this lift? You think Donnie would hire his own video person to record his achievement. But that would only prove how bogus all of his attempts have been including this one. Vlad is still the king.

  • No Rockabilly ? No AcDc. You do the math.

  • @gavnur your fucking stupid

  • Oh yea. White Zombie!!!

  • The raw world record is the true record.

  • @spicktick I agree.

  • @spicktick yup, but which one?;) the one from wilkerson? Nah...then there are the ones who only squat with wraps because they got shredded knees. the russians like malanichev for example, whats it about that? and what is about the old records, lifted with bad equipment and so on...;)

  • @spicktick The raw record is officially held by Robert Wilkerson at 1000 lbs, but that lift is not a single bit better than this mutated squat (And he actually does not even go as deep as Donnie). The true record, I believe, is held by Andrey Malanichev at 993 lbs. Just look at them and compare.

  • @spicktick lol, u dont know much about powerlifting

  • @MrGeneralskruf Neither, it seems, do you!

  • @MrGeneralskruf lol, u dont know much about pure human body strength

  • i think that was clearly a squat

  • he went JUST past parallel. imagine where his hips would be.

  • It was an impressive lift but I wouldn't cal it a squat. Id call it some other kind of lift

  • in fairness i'd say that was parallel. sick.

  • yea he deffinately went parallel they judge by the bottom of your legs

  • PARALELL! omfg he cant get more parallel than that!

  • Strong neck brah

  • This guy's a little bitch! I'm 9 years old, 6'10 , and can squat 1500 lbs!

  • @MargerineWalk HAHA! my fucking arse!

  • @MargerineWalk weak comment...

  • WTF W/all these BULL$HIT sporting events? Reminds me of the 'push ups' where the guy doesn't straighten his arms, nor have his chest touch the ground. This is not a squat. It is a half squat, with the legs 2 far apart. What next, do the splits? Then U can 'squat' without having 2 lift @ all! Really - I squatted - C? I'm doing the splits, but my balls were 2 millimeters higher, now they R a little bit lower, LoL!!

  • @DuralastTurbo You are an idiot... Just because you are not good at anything and will never break any records at anything in your life, There is no need to minimize the FACT that this guy is one of the strongest people on the planet

  • Didnt lock out his knees on his way up. Bet you he got a scratch if that was a real powerlifting meet.plus the lady "1260 lbs cmon this is easy weight!" id say shut the fuck up to her

  • *World record sumo squat

His legs are positioned faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too wide to call this a regular squat.

  • lol i got linked from Taranenko's 266kg clean and jerk to this shit...?

  • @bigjuicymanboobs he was just about parallel, maybe a bit less

  • im confused..when does he squat?

  • 20 bucks says the next day he underwent drastic spinal surgery..lol

  • Nice lift

  • SPF = Steroid Powered Freak

  • I wanna see this guy wrestle a lion!

  • How tall is Donnie Thompson and his weight??

  • hows it raw if he has a suit? i thought raw is no suits, no belt, no spotters

  • @brands1 raw is no suit

  • @brands1 no spotters? WOOOT? what the fuck do spotters have to do with RAW. if you squat anything above 200kg without spotters (suit or no suit) you are a dumbfuck. Point.

  • @dan7edan7e if you can squat more then 200kg w/o spotters, its makes you dumb? explain that please

  • @brands1 If you attempt squatting 200+ or so kilos without spotters (whether its a relatively easy weight for you or your maximum) - that makes you quite stupid and ignorant. Spotters are not there just make your lift look cool. A lot of things can go wrong with heavy squats. Sometimes you get the breathing wrong, and you might black out. Or you just shift the weight too much forward\backward and lose balance, etc. Basically i m saying - you should be careful. PL is not a joke.

  • @dan7edan7e you could just dump the weight? bah im talking from a OLY lifting point of view, maybe s thats why you see differently

  • @dan7edan7e you know why power racks exist right? The pins on them allow to to dump the bar if you fail the lift. You don't really need spotters for squatting, though can see maybe with these extreme multi ply squats, possibly more things can go wrong since the weight can often crush you compared to your raw strength and they are using a monolift... but even with 440lbs.... you can just drop it off of your back lol if you have any reasonable amount of strength.

  • The squat suits are an unknown quantity as far as just how much extra you can lift with them. In raw competition they have to walk back with the weight which cuts down on how much they can lift.

Those ridiculous bench press shirts do give you 300 pounds more, based on what the top guys are doing raw compared to with the backless shirt.

  • to be honest, carrolls 1185 is more impressive

  • It's 1260lbs!!! The fact that he can lift it off of the rack is impressive. Suit or no suit, the amount of training he has put himself through to reach that mark is enough for me.

  • what was that, did he ever go down, and it looks like hes got body armor on,,His 800+ Raw squat is much more impressive

  • Could someone explain this suited nonsense to me? I thought the point of powerlifting was to see who is strongest.

  • @yuppyguitar1 Well if everyone is allowed to wear them, the strongest man does win. People wear suits to squat 1260 without getting hurt. There are raw contests if that's what you prefer. To say someone isn't strong cause they are wearing gear is the real nonsense. It's not like the suit does the squat for you while you sit on a chair watching it.

  • @LegendKillerJosh Josh, show me where I said this guy isn't strong. It is like the suit does the squat for you, that's exactly the reason I made the comment and why there's no way this guy could ever squat 1260 raw. Safety is important, which is why you shouldn't be squatting 1260 if your body isn't strong enough to handle it. If you think everyone has an equal advantage, why don't we allow bionic implants as well? Then we can have cyborg leagues.

  • if he does beIow parraIeI and narrawer feet and no suit he prob cant get 800

  • Comment removed

  • Seems like the suit prevented him from going lower, do squat suits affect depth? They are illegal in powerlifting, at least for my district it is.

  • @PS360Million yes they do affect depth but not when lifting this amount of weight theyu shouldnt.

  • @Ironbound95 I see.

  • @PS360Million if you were wearing a suit and tried to squat down and touch you toes with no weight on you back you wouldnt be able to with a suit on , they are so tight and restrictive its crazy. imagine a really tight spring that requires alot of force to push down when you let go it springs back up, same effect with a squat suit.

  • deeeper

  • Suit give you a plus of 30%...and I now mean like you will insta get 30% +, but you will be able to put +30% on your max.

  • that's more than my big 3 total. fml

  • I could curl that shit

  • 24 people have no videos of their own and can't squat over 300lbs

  • People are looking at his legs and talk about him not hitting parallel. He has gigantic legs, bigger than most people's wastes. From a front camera view you can't see his hips. A squat is parallel when the hip bone reaches the height of the knee. From this view you can only see his massive quads and it looks like they aren't parallel, but the judges on the side can see his hip bone reached the level of his knee, so it's good. Most of the you commenting can't even total 1,260 so shut up

  • @LegendKillerJosh Calling that a squat is a joke, 4 inches short of parallel at least, this type of lifting gives powerlifting a bad name. what federation is this ? the high squat multiply ego massage federation.

  • @MrMorry27 dude ur so fucking stupid... he is parallel... im a powerlifter and im sure legendkillerjosh is too... i doubt u could get 300 bro... im 16, 135 lbs and i squat 400 every other day with my coach... i know thats parallel... think next time b4 u go and shoot off stupid shit

  • @LegendKillerJosh just wondering, my dad had power lifted in high school and he had said that for a judge to count the squat, you had to break the 90 degree angle. jw but do you think he breaks the plane? or do you think that the judges accepted because of the massive weight?

  • @LegendKillerJosh Since my total just broke 1,260, I guess I'm allowed say that this squat is nowhere near parallel. SPF is a joke.

  • too high.......that shit wouldn't fly in APF

  • @johnivlow agreed....

  • He looks like a chode

  • He didn't hit the depth closest I have seen him do in all his videos but he was maybe parrallel at most. Lot of weight yes, but if you want to call it close then give everyone good lifts.

  • LMAO 15 PLATE!!!!111

  • i noticed unlike a grip of other videos no ones talking all," psssh i cant quat like 2 times that!" that is an impressive squat

  • wow he's squatting 9 of me hahahaha

  • I think too often people look strictly at the thighs when looking for depth. That isn't correct, if a guy has big quads it might look like his legs didn't hit parallel, when in fact it's if the hip bone is as deep as the knee. We can't see his hips in this shot

  • I understand the arguments of people against suits. Fine, you have your opinion and geared lifters have theirs. But seriously, I can't believe how many people hate on every video I've seen the last few years. If it was you who did this squat and the judges gave it to you, would you not show people and tell people you are the best cause it might have been a little high? Besides, we can't actually tell from cameras at some angles where his hips were

  • 00:02 That stupid announcer said "Easy Weight!" Bitch you go squat 1260 lbs if you think its so easy.

  • @xinecallaw She did that for encouragment. I tell myself light weight when I lift. I even yelled out "shits easy" at my last bench press comp.

  • Just kidding, I love donnie though. He deserves this.

  • SPF = Squat Partial Federation.

  • in ipf this guy couldnt even squat 1000 lbs!!

  • So not to rain on anyone's parade, but he never went all the way down...

  • @bigjuicymanboobs its a good squat as long as you get your knees to a 90 degree angle, which he did.

  • @bigjuicymanboobs dude ur a fucking idiot he clearly went down til his legs were at 90 degrees

  • @bigjuicymanboobs but he hit 90 Degrees...as long as you hit 90 Degrees it's a Good Squat....and by the way....you go do it all the way down...those are 1260 fuckin' lbs for fuck sake....can you even imagine what kinda weight is that....

  • The incredible hulk can do this too....

  • He's actually on YouTube doing an easy 1300lb in gym, I reckon this guy....... If he lives long enough, will do 1400lb. As for depth....., Different organisations have different ideas about how deep is deep enough, the Americans tend to be quite forgiving with depth. Apart from that I reckon his technique is near perfect..... I reckon he's good for 1000lb raw...... Put it this way, I wouldn't be the guy betting against him being able to do a 1000lb raw squat.

  • Don't talk about suits unless you have tried one. They aren't fucking magic. Even with a suit your muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments and cns still have to be able to support the 1260 pounds crushing down on you.

  • @LegendKillerJosh i totally agree with you there

  • @LegendKillerJosh I have worn a suit many times, and agree with what you're saying. However, the suits have ruined the sport. PLing wants to be taken seriously and be in the Olympics... but look at the sports in the Olympics. Even swimming banned the use of suits.

  • @LegendKillerJosh Yes, suits are hard to use. Yes, suits do not make the weight feel any lighter on your back. But that doesn't mean you need to give every lifter a free pass on depth. Why aren't suits of steel plate used? You'd never get to depth because you wouldn't even move. But Multi Ply Suits on top of Multi Ply briefs are allowed and the rules are changed to make depth WAY high. If you can't squat to depth because of the equipment then don't change the rules.

  • @ptarleton My theory is that federations want to constantly see lifters lifting more and more insane weights and constantly breaking records so they allow all this equipment and green light slightly high lifts cause face it, would we be sitting here watching videos of people squatting 725 raw? No, I got guys in my gym that can do that. They don't want records standing for decades, they want to give us videos of people squatting 1300!

  • @LegendKillerJosh 725 is sweet. I'll watch that! But seriously, have you ever seen Andrey Malanichev lift his 993 squat in just knee wraps? Or Kirk Karwoski, in training, do 800X5 Raw and 1000X2 Single Ply? People care way more about Benedikt Magnusson's new 1015 record, or any Deadlift record for that matter, because it's a record that will stand for a long time. If records fall every year they're meaningless. If they stand for decades then breaking them means something.

  • @LegendKillerJosh I think you realized this, but I'm not saying Donnie isn't strong. He's hit a deep 800 Raw in competition without really training the deep, raw squat style. So he could compete that way if he wanted to and, by focusing on it, surely do better. But I don't care how much a really strong guy can partial squat in a bulletproof mech suit. Yeah, he is strong - duh. So I'd like to see him actually showcase his raw power.

  • @ptarleton Ya I get your point. To me squatting 200 ass to the grass and raw is better than a partial rep of 500. But the thing I'm saying is these people are bitching about guys squatting 1cm high if at all. Sometimes they look parallel to me on video, and people are freaking out saying dumb shit like "if he got about a half inch lower I would green light it." I'm sure the judges are in better position than the photographer, videos can produce strange views.

  • @LegendKillerJosh yeah, i agree with you but also with everyone else... i play guitar and teach guitar, and do strongman and some powerlifting, but in both sides of guitar and lifting the gimmicks have gotten out of hand. what happened to the purity of everything? in powerlifting no one can say that the gear doesnt help that much. if it didnt then why wear it? we wear it to get higher numbers. plain and simple. i have trained with guys that wont touch the bar unless they look like a swat guy.

  • @LegendKillerJosh without suits and equipment the ligaments and tendons MIGHT rip. if you cant do it without them then that means the equipment makes you stronger. all these lifters have raw records and equipped records. the equipment is to prevent injury. it may not be magic, but a 600 raw bencher may do 820 in a shirt. its not to say these men arent strong, but the gear literally helps you lift more even though its not magic.

  • i think he broke parallel and it went up so easy he couldve done it lower

  • @LegendKillerJosh You can't have an opinion on suits unless youve tried one? Why? Anyways, the whole equipment thing is turning into a joke. It's all even though because we all wear the stuff. I like wearing the suits and they help somewhat. Why would you NOT wear a suit? Why go below paralell when thats all you need?

  • @LegendKillerJosh Dude i have used a suit and a bench press shirt. They are magic. You can fucking lift like 170lbs more with them!

  • @tibiaroxxxx Your max was 0 and now is 170?

  • @LegendKillerJosh No. But lets say i can take 500 lbs RAW. But with suit i take 670.

  • @LegendKillerJosh I have an Inzer Hardcore :D

  • I've never seen a man soo red

  • Impressive, but honestly, I'm surprised the squat was considered deep enough. It doesn't look like he broke parallel to me. Still incredibly impressive. I know I'd be nervous as all hell if I were just asked to help side spot that.

  • @YoBezPoppin It hit parallel. Top of the thigh is in line with crease of the hip.

  • Why was the world record squat done in a middle school basket ball gym?

  • chemical brother

  • So which organization or federation's rules governed this particular meet?

  • @shadywayside

    "SPF" (Southern Powerlifting Federation)

  • I love all the people hating on gear makes me laugh. Yeah it does make you be able to do more weight but its just as much for safety reasons as well. The only time ive ever hurt myself training is doing raw work. So in 15 years people who are wearing gear will still be lifting while others who are all raw all the time will be getting surgery done on their knees and hips and back. Why dont football players play with no pads? or hockey players? safety reasons. I'm not knocking raw lifters.

  • @cihs06 Yeah and so are most of these guys.

  • After training at SUPERTRAININGGY

  • lets go baby, the best part is that it was in my home town and i was right down the street when it happened

  • all the early guys are looking at this wondering if they could have done the same with all the exceptions and additions-Don Reinhoudt, Kazmaier, Vasely Alexeev, even Paul Anderson who was as natural as could be, and could squat 800 multiple times in a row, no racks or suit, just a belt.

  • @nhgranite1

except that all those guys were on steroids! Great point, God ur smart

  • @cihs06 oh yeah, that's what killed Anderson, too many reps, no suit. OK ur smrtr

  • Hard to see anything with all the 'groupies' around him!

  • @flexin007 I've never lifted in gear, but your e-penis is obviously larger. Great talk.

  • any video of the 1300 squat attempt?? was this a full meet? if so howd he do on bench/dead

  • @critietaeta

i do have his 1300lb attempt(not uploaded tho)-Donnie missed his depth on that. was a full meet he took 135lbs on bench and deadlift.

  • @mindisj0 he took 135 on bench and dead? dosent sound right he deadlifts like 785 and 900 bench.

  • @k2boarderbm7 His goal for some time has been the world record squat. The other two were token lifts to ensure that it gets counted in the record books :-) Maybe he'll go for hte record total once his body has recovered from this mammoth achievement!

  • @mindisj0 Are you saying he can only bench 135?

  • @Dizciple8 NO-but that's what Donnie chose to do-so it would count as a full meet! he mentioned to me that he will be doing a full power meet in Finland 'Bullfarm' in october 2011-against Andy Bolton...few of these monsters are hunting that 3000lb total...

  • Great squat Super D! Awesome job taking the world record at 1,260 lbs! Congratulations!

  • @flexin007 I've got to say that suits make it a little more of a sport. You have more of a chance to compete with those around you. Raw stuff is basically just competing against yourself, in my eyes. Nothing wrong with that, though!

  • All I have to say is "LOL".

  • That's almost a RAW squat, isn't it?!?!?!!?!

  • Powerlifting: Making fat fucks feel good about their life choices

  • @wuzreeelytho Are you jealous of what some of these "fat fucks" can do..? You are nowhere close to Donnie's strength, and he is nowhere close to your pretty little mirror body. You want to look good, he wants to lift heavy things. Quit your ridicule.

  • @wuzreeelytho Youtube: Making retards feel better about their choices and giving them the bravery to say dumb shit while hiding behind a computer ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @wuzreeelytho man are you stupid, have a look at konstantin konstantinov, possibly the greatest deadlifter of our time, the man doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, fucking fool.
