its about brandon flower's (lead singer) childhood. He used to be bi and had a crush on a football star named andy. but andy was straight. So hes singing about how he was depressed and miserable about it.
wow it is so weird that i just read that, because me and my friend listened to this song when we were stoned, and you know how when your stoned you think really hard. well my friend came up with the idea that ANDY is a like lets say a football player and he has a bestfriend who is a girl, but pretends to be his girlfriend to hide his "secret" of him being gay, but he really has a boyfriend who is out and open, and the boyfriend is singing to him that no matter what he'll be a star if he came out
@japganksta there's no such thing as "used" to be bi. Either you are or you're not. Just because Brandon is married and doesn't fuck guys doesn't mean he is no longer bi.
What you people don't realize is that art is completely relative. A song may mean one thing to the composer, and somothing completely different to the listener. That does not mean that the listener is wrong.
I liked your video, good job. The only thing is that I interpreted the song as Andy being a guy. I don't know if that's just me or not.
