Just listened to Coolanddarks version of this song and had to come back for another listen. Man it would be great if you to played it together! Real cool!
Great performance of a great song for a great cause! The stars must have been aligned just right for a change. Beautifully sung and played as always! 5 stars for your bookshelf!
wow!we think a like!i was going to post this song too!this is way better than i can do it!fantastic Archie!its cool to see Woodys music is still alive and in good hands here!awesome!
Hey I love trees! Its what pays my bills seeing that I work in lumber and veneer - but at least my Martin was made from certified sustainable woods - that should count for something right?
heck yes Johnny!im the biggest tree hugger in King county im proud to say!i bet your hands are caloused over from working with all that wood!i think my Alverez was made in China.lol
lol, yeah, I'll probably have to use the air compressor to blow the dust out the one in the garage! Hey I saw Dannyknapp's cover of your Sister Maria tune - cool eh? You betcha!
Holy smoke! That was an amazing guitar solo you played at about 1:23, all the way through to 1:46. The singing and harmonica playing are excellent too. This is a great performance, man! Great job. I'm going to fave this one. Six stars!!!
Sorry, I should have explained that I was the opening act followed by four other bands-- it was a music festival. The headliner was Cubensis, a GDead cover band, and they were really great. Check 'em out on the toob-- they have several vids up....
Sweet Lost!!!.Funny How Times Change and Remain the The Same...Were Back To Hard Times.. Great Vid..The Place Looks Nice your Playin At....Take Care.........Carl
You do that so well....my words are useless here..saw a guy playin on the street in Grenwich village long time ago....you remind me of that experience.....thank you.....
I wandered down that street 30 years ago myself, but didn't have the guts to get out my own guitar. I always say, I'm a music "fan" with his own guitar, and not a "real" musician......
The best San Francisco Bay Blues I ever heard was in The Village summer of '67- a street musician, had the harmoica and all- great times- your awesome, Real.Honest.Keep 'em comming!
that may or may not be true, but half of a good performance is experience. and it shines through my friend. you sing and play these tunes like slipping on a pair of well-worn gloves.
That's what gives Woody Guthrie songs their power--- he wrote his lyrics to the tunes that the people already knew, traditional folk songs and gospel songs-- you nailed the source for this one, and many years ago I used to combine the two songs to make that point.........
This song keys in on themes that are just as relevant today as they were when the song was written. Monopolies. The poor. Taking advantage. Foreclosure during the Dust Bowl. Foreclosure during the sub-prime mortgage scam...
Spitzenklasse!
This is a german word for an extraordinnary good thing.
You have the right voice to play Woody, I ve got all Pete Seeger and Guthrie music here, You can get in Germany.
Greetings from Heidelberg
