  • Thanks! The only video that showed how to reconnect cable three!

  • Why they gota make shit so hard

  • i can't even get the bottom screws out

  • home and unlock buttons aren't working..something i did?!! HELP

  • @Emmafaceee There are three pieces to the home button, first is the plastic button, second is the flex cable (circuitry) and third is the contact point on the complete charging assembly. Either the flex cable is damaged or not contacting the charging assembly, or your charging assembly is damaged. As for the power button, it is part of the headphone jack assembly, if you wanted to replace it.

  • @DigiExpress okay so it's not a messed up cable from changing the battery?

  • @Emmafaceee If it is a messed up cable, then it would be the home button flex cable. As for the sleep button, that would be a headphone jack that needs replacing (as the sleep and volume buttons are part of the headphone jack). We can fix it for you if you would like, we have a $25.00 flat rate labor fee and our batteries are only $15.99. You can find more information at our website, or on our users page in YouTube.

  • cable 3 is a bitch. speaker phone on all calls for me =[

  • thank you so much!!!

  • i got it back, but the screen isn't responsive. how do i fix it?

  • my iphone3gs stuck on apple logo and cannot connect to itunes after i replaced the battery...please help me to fix this problem..

  • @archie6170 i got the same problem, stuck on logo WTF

  • for some reason the sound for the charger comes on when i plug it in but the screen doesnt come back on!!

    PLEASE HELP!!

  • @RoughRider96 check your #3 cable as well as that when you close the screen you keep the LCD ribbon cable attached to the board with your finger. You can also try to remove the power source, the battery, from the device; then reinstall the battery. This may "reset" the iPhone and then it will boot up again. Though it does sound like an issue with the connections of the ribbon cables #1, 2, 3 to the logic board.

  • Thank you kind Sir. Very well done an spoken.

  • Amazing Video, Probably one of the most thorough and detailed on Youtube, now I'm just hoping that my 3GS will finally run again!

  • Amazing video!! Where I can get the battery?

  • @meazi01 We sell the Battery on our website.

  • great video, just fixed my 3GS in no time. apple wanted 150 for repair/battery replacement. battery kit cost me 5$ on amazon. thanks for posting.

  • Awesome vid, went ahead and did the operation, works like a charm!!! Thank you,

  • Thanks for the vid. Question though. Another video said you have to solder the new battery to keep it from shorting out, which is why they recommend you use a pro....scare tactics? Does anyone in the real world really solder it? Thank you in advance.

  • @airbornevet231 There is nothing to solder it to. That is not proper information. This battery requires absolutely no soldering at all, it is simply a pressure spring made from bent metal contacts that touch the logic board.

  • My iphone 3gs turns on perfectly. When im using it battery runs fast and when using the camera app as well as other apps it turns off. When connected to the power cord the phone will work and run any app. Is this a battery issue? I'm thinking on replacing the battery.

Thanks, your videos are amazing and very simple user frienly!

  • I have an iphone 3gs. it only powers on when plugged in. as soon as I disconnect the power it shuts right off. Is this the battery?

  • @alinko414 It does seem as though a replacement battery would be the proper part. Though if by "Powers On" you mean, shows the Apple logo but goes no farther or shows a picture of a USB cable and iTunes icon; then the battery may not be the culprit. If by "Powers On" you mean it will boot into the home screen and allow you to use apps and make phone calls, then all signs point to the battery as the culprit.

  • @DigiExpress I actually poped in a battery from an iphone 3g I had laying around and I was able to get into the phone, view apps and so forth. however it was not long until it that battery died and started to malfunction (the boots would loop). My guess is because that was not the appropriate battery. When I also tried restoring the iphone it gave me an "unknown error" message. Also guessing again because of the battery somewhere in the process. I dont know if anyone has experienced this issue

  • @alinko414 The batteries from an iPhone 3G are 3.7v at 1150 mAh, while the iPhone 3GS batteries are 3.7v at 1219 mAh. There is a bit of difference and generally the batteries are not interchangeable. Now if you use the proper battery and generally the same error occurs, you can then assume the issue is with the power management portion of the logic board. Some times all signs will point to a battery being bad, then when the device is repaired the new battery drains and does not recharge.

  • @DigiExpress Alright thank you so much for your response. I ordered a legit oem 3gs battery. I hope it solves my problem.

  • my 3gs had been sitting up for a month or two not being used as i had a cracked screen and lcd that needed to be fixed but didn have time. they are know fixed but the battery life on it sucks when fully charged it will stay at 100% for awhile but then it runs down quickly but sometimes only to 50% then shuts off sometimes it will turn back on but most the time it needs to be plugged in before it will come back on. Is this a software problem or should i change the battery. i have updated to ios 5

  • I have my phone back together. It powers up and notifies me of txt and/or voicemail, however when I slide to unlock it doesnt register my touch. I opened phone back up & it appears all ribbons are properly seated but apparently I've done something wrong. Any advice?

  • @cocoasmom1 You may have damaged the ribbon cable at the point where it connects to the glass itself. If you have a magnifying glass it would be a great tool to use when following the connections. Inspect the area surrounding the ribbon cable, you will see small transistors; make sure these are not "burnt". As a last resort you can do a "Restore" through iTunes (see Apple Support for instructions). We do offer a service to Diagnose the issues, more information is available on our website.

  • Worked great s far!

Took 28 minutes and I was back in business.

    Thanks

  • i have an iphone 3gs 32gb.. bought it last july,, so it is now 16months old.. and had it jailbroken close to 6-7 months ago,, and my batt life is suckin , gettin worse and worse each day,, now its to the point if i use it for 10-20mins of web or talkin, it will die out no matter how long i charge it.. could this be because needs new battery, or software needs to be updated ? havent been able to update it since the jb,

  • @PitbullMike007 This is a great question, the Jailbroken devices should have the same battery life GIVEN that you run only stock apps. This means no installing Winterboard or anything like that at all (SBSettings included). If you use RedSn0w, Pwnagetool then you should not have this problem. If you use Blackra1n or Greenpois0n then you'll find a substandard jailbreak wrought with problems. @Comex interns for Apple now and @MuscleNerd took a visit to Cupertino, on Apple's dime! Hope it helps

  • You need to add a warning to the video that cable 3 does not pop off like the other cables, that you have to carefully raise the white bar and slide the cable out. I tried to remove it like the others and broke the side of the connector off, I now have an iPaperweight!!

  • @Rbards At 1:30 seconds into the video we do say to take a look at the installation video for the Glass and LCD screen to see the connections in greater detail. We do sell the #3 connector (Earpiece Speaker Connector) if you would need to replace it.

  • @DigiExpress I Changed the battery out per the video. I plugged it in and turned it on. When the Iphone first turned on the battery was at 89% and didn't drop until I restarted it. Then it continued to drop even while plugged in. I thought it might have to do with the grounding clip but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

  • hi ive broke the gold pin at the bottom of the logic board, that sort of sticks out of the right of the motherboard, how can i fix or replace this pleaaee

  • @OutsidazTV There is no way to reattach that part. Unfortunately you may have battery life issues from this point forward, the gold pin is a ground and you could also see your cell or wi-fi signal decrease. The device may still be usable though.

  • i hvnt had the courage yet

  • Hi I had my battery replaced and tried to update my iPhone now I have error 29, the company won't do anything and nor will another a it's jailbreak. I've been told that it could be as simple as wrong battery replaced. Can u advise me what I need to buy? I'm confident after watching your video that I can do swap batteries. Thanks

  • @MyLaura1985 This is a tricky one, you may have a jailbroken device that does not have the SHSH blobs backed up (using iFaith or TinyUmbrella). Sometimes a jb device gets restored through factory means (iTunes app) then will be "bricked" until you can properly downgrade the software. Changing the battery will probably not help. Visit Apple Support and search for Error Code 29. There are some steps to help repair the software issue.

  • @DigiExpress Im in same boat as inam188 with the black screen. what would you suggest if one followed all these steps and everything remained the same and no improvements where made even after making sure everything was done correctly?i made sure all 3 cables where installed properly, but still have the same problem. Are there any other remedies? Also if my phone is powered on and I'm disconnecting the cables and inserting them does that harm the phone at all? should the phone be off?

  • @r00kie104 The phone should be powered off when working on it, yes. However, you can try to do a restore on the iPhone. Look for a tutorial on how to put the iPhone into Recovery or DFU mode to allow a proper restore through iTunes. Other than this, there are no remedies for a display issue like you are having.

  • @DigiExpress thanks for the reply back i have yet to put it into dfu/ recovery mode but i got the phone up and working for some strange reason. I was half way through getting to the battery thinking if i remove it, it would reset it, but you replied and i decided to just go ahead and do what you suggested. As i was putting it back together i plugged it into my computer and what do you know the apple sign comes on. thanks again sir

  • I done everything you said and fitted in the battery but the iphone 3g screen does not turn on. The phone however is on as the vibrate buttion works. All i can see is a black screen i.e no part off the screen is working. Could anyone help me and address the issue i seem to be having and what steps i should take to correct it thanks

  • @inam188 check the receiving end for the #3 cable, make sure this cable is seated properly. There is a receiving piece that accepts the cable and on the recieing piece there is a small hinge that is rotated downward to put pressure on the cable and keep it connected. Also, when you are closing the screen; keep your finger on the # 1 cable as long as possible, sometimes this cable comes loose when putting the screen back on.

  • what happens if you break the gold pin thing on the logic board?

  • @msjennjen the gold pin is part of the circuitry, most likely a part of either the battery ground or the wi-fi. Since the wi-fi antenna is actually the chrome bezel around the screen it would make sense that the gold pin carries the signal from the bezel to the logic board. Though it could also be a grounding point for the battery as if it is removed from the board, the device will no longer charge the battery or even turn on in some cases.

  • @DigiExpress aw ... ): i think i broke my iphone!

  • very nice and useful video...... thanks a lot Digi Express..... looking for HTC HD2 phone setups

  • @shamimusa Thank you for the positive comments. We are looking into doing repairs for the HTC and Motorola Android based units, but none right now.
