I always manage to stumble across this performance by Adler whenever I'm just looking at random drumming videos. He's so good, but how in the FUCK did they manage to make his bass drums sound so terrible? For fuck's sake, you can barely hear it. And from the Modern Drummer festival no less...wtf? Neil Peart can play in some weird ass time signatures...doesnt make him better. it seems to me that you dont know your drummers or drumming in general. i highly suggest you brush up on drumming fundamentals before you make another asshole comment about who "sucks" in your eyes

@1above2 U need to tighten ur bass drums as much as u can and put alot of muffing in to it like pillows and shrits or blankits. IF u comes with build in muffing the the drum heads, dont use alot on that head other wise u wount get the full sound out of the head.

@HebbyMetal Dude......tightening the head on the bass drum gives it a super high thump. For most music, especially metal, you want to get a low end punchy sound from the bass drum. That means wind down on the skin quite a ways, and tighten up the res head. Put a pillow up against the resonator head, and get a FALAM Patch, or some other stick on patch, and you have your metal kick.
