  • do they sell those at guitar center?

  • @Annmarietenacious Why would you want to go there?

  • Better than Boss chorus pedals.

  • @creedenceaj you're right

  • Whenever I plug this in, I keep occasionally getting this really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY shitty sounding distortion, even on the clean channel. I know it's a great pedal and this is probably an isolated incident, but can anyone help me with this?

  • @saraband0 My guess is it probably needs a new battery. I'm not a tech guy but it sounds like a power issue.

  • so should i get the mxr micro chorus or this?

  • I wish I could listen to a 24 hour long solo using this pedal.

  • Nirvana - Lithium at 4:37

  • @lucasfenderjaguar What? Lithium is 4:19

  • 3:00 "Release" by Pearl Jam!

  • I just bought this pedal, and it sounds great but if i play low notes (espacially with the tone knobs all the way down) I can hear a noise.

Is it normal? And if so, why is it?

  • Dear PGS, what is andys favorite chorus pedal? if you don't mind me asking.

  • Im livin' in the 80's!!

  • Darn. Plz tell me the chords from 1:17 to 2:07.

Oh yeh I bought this pedal, ty for the review.

  • @91Fuzion i love this, sounds like depressant

  • it sounds likes "come as you are"

  • I know that opening riff melody is like Nirvana's "Come As You Are" but i couldn't help also noticing that this same hook also seems to be derived from Killing Joke's song "Eighties" (albeit altered only slightly). did Kurt Cobain take it from this song or what??

  • @sonickchri Killing Joke sued Nirvana over this but dropped the suit when Kurt Cobain died.

  • @torque91

Yes it is, and Dave Grohl to peace up everything played drums on a Killing Joke's album (2003, "The Killing Joke", very particular sound, even from Dave on drums).

  • @sonickchri

Nope...but Killing Joke took it from The Damned.

  • I hear "Release" by Pearl Jam. Awwwwyeahhh

  • I like how they have to play things as variants to avoid lawsuits xD

  • im deciding whether to get this, or the digitech hardwire chorus pedal..will anyone help? i know this pedal is a little limited and the hardwire has a bunch more controls but this is a classic..HELP!

  • @ryanchatfield1313 small clone is much better

  • what's the difference between the small, nano and neo clones?

  • @vaibhavnayel The Neo Clone is the same circuit in a nano case, pedal friendly but the same circuit as Small Clone. The Nano Clone is based on Small Clone circuit, in a nano case, but is NOT the same circuit, since it has no Depth Switch. Neo Clone has it.

  • which chords are in this part? 1:17 - 1:55 it's so nice!

  • @JanPotrc I'm pretty sure that's a variation on "Creep" by Radiohead, so I'd guess Gmaj - Bmaj - Cmaj - Cmin

  • 4:37 Lithium! hell yeah, great pedal! :) <3

  • @JanPotrc lol potrc xD

  • what's the difference between the neo clone and small clone?

  • @vaibhavnayel The casing, I believe.

  • Ugh I can't choose between this and the MXR analog chorus. They are both really good pedals

  • @GuitarGod94XxXx Haha, then you need both ))

  • @GuitarGod94XxXx kurt cobain used the small clone...:P i think your problem is solved...XD haha

  • what song at 2:02?

  • @IncrediMartin Yes and Yes,but most electro-harmonix pedals call for certain types of 9v adapters. You should just buy an electro-harmonix 9DC-100. They're like 5 dollars or something on amazon. :3

  • @IncrediMartin

it's like, 80 dollars dude, and it really depends on what you're trying to do, just go to a shop and try it out.

  • I love seeing all the confusion that has been caused by opening the demo with Killing Joke's "Eighties". Good on ya Andy!

  • what is the main difference between this pedal and the Neo Clone?

  • this a good pedal only shit thing about it is that it doesnt run on a ac adapter so i traded mine in to get the ch1 there both really good pedals but they both have one bad thing about them the ch1 aint true by pass but this is the ch1 runs on a ac adapter this doesnt my advice dont get this unless you have the adapter for it :\

  • @WASD9ox Just get the Neo Clone? It's exactly like this one, but smaller and you can power it with an adapter.

  • 3:12 Release - Pearl Jam

  • I like how you played Killing Joke as opposed to Nirvana....awesome and unexpected.

  • I just plugged my small clone in today and have not used it for awhile...I was blow away by it's liquid and unique tone....it is a bit heavy handed but when the need calls it is perfect....once again I remember way I love EH's analogue pedals so much

  • LITHIUM!!!!

    Yeah yeah yea yeah!!!!

  • best chorus ever!

  • Killing Joke ripped off the Damned.

Check out the Damned song, Life Goes On.

  • If it's good enough for Kurt, then it's good enough for me

  • @nomissimon25 thats a terrible way to think./

  • @nomissimon25 i think he was actually playing the killing joke version

  • Somebody sure loves him some Pearl Jam. "I'll wait up in the dark

For you to speak to me"

  • nirvana

  • he doesnt play come as you are, he plays eighties by killing joke, similar riff, DIFFERENT SONGS!!!!!

  • does this thing have one of those bucket brigade chips in it?

  • I have more boosted sound, when i switch it ON and the output signal is weaker, than

    WTF? Feeling disappointed =(

  • this man is quite a good guitar player. cheers!

  • What is the difference between chorus and reverb ?

  • @flubno Chorus copies the input signal several times and slightly changes the tone and tuning to make it sound like several guitars, where as a reverb pedal will add a smeary echo like singing (or playing) in the shower

  • @flubno COMPLETELY different things. Chorus is a modulation effect that adds a slightly detuned copy of the original sound, which makes it sound a little like there are multiple instruments playing. Reverb on the other hand is a spacial effect, which changes the "environment" of the instrument, like if you're playing in a concrete room or in a cathedral.

  • I was wondering if when anybody used this pedal, they experienced a loud clicking sound when they first turned it on?

  • @necrosis90 yes but i think that's because as the input and output jacks are very loose so when you click the on button the cable touches something and produces the loud clicking, i opened up a small stone that i got on a trade that had the same problem, twisted the input jack until i was shure it wasn't gonna touch anything and the clicking's gone :)

  • Killing Joke!

  • come as you are & sliver by nirvana indeed he has played to all the haters. so many hate why?

  • @SkinSorrow He never played sliver, but he did play lithium.

  • I prefer this to the neo clone!!!

  • deep and slow...

  • 2:53 pearl jam release!!! :D

  • ha killing joke's "eighties', the original 'come as you are'.

  • @mastertrev No, youtube: The Damned 'Life Goes On'

  • this sound actually reminds of old bit tracks for certain games, ah nostalgia ^^

  • Hey can someone answer this for me; Is this better then the Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble ? I own one an to be honest i don't think it's very good, but this sounds much better.

  • @funkymonk2390 don't go with boss. electro-harmonix may be a little more expensive at times, but it's worth the money.

  • man your riffs sound great with the effects. but it makes you sound out of tune... is that the point?

  • @mxmontiel i think a chorus is like an octave-oscillation pedal so it kinda goes in and out from in tune to droptuned

  • @mxmontiel Pretty much :/ im not a big fan of chorus pedals. It basically Creates the effect of two guitars by splitting the signal in two, and keeping one signal at the same pitch and the other slightly out of tune, but this makes it sound a bit out of tune

  • does anyone know what riff he plays at 1:17? Thanks :)

  • Lithium uses a chorus pedal?

  • @Person1036 a compressor on the main riff, I guess...

  • i love chorus other modulation, but i can't understand how some guys think really fast, 'squiggly' rates sound good or usable. i'm not dissing other guys' tone, i'm just wondering what you guys use these sounds for

  • @drummachinedawg You know when you play a solo and you just wanna crank your amp to 11, shove some chorus and fuzz on it and leave the audience thinking "what the fuck did I just hear?", well, that.

  • @drummachinedawg ~ You can use the fast "squiggly" sounds for a loose imitation of a leslie rotating speaker, if you dial in the correct tone on your guitar and amp.

  • analog, I know

  • KILLING JOKE FTW!!!

  • Thanks for being so descriptive in all the proguitarshop demos andy.

  • sounds like it could capture the rooster sound

  • @MrCraigary123 Rooster from Alice In Chains? Try using a flanger like the EHX electric mistress stereo.

  • pearl jam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want t know if this is better or neo clone because i want to buy one!

  • @kasabalisgreeksk8ter They sound pretty much exactly the same. I would buy the neo clone. Just don't buy the nano clone :S it sucks bad :(

  • Just recieved this one- super sick -great demo

Now I have both the clone and the stone!

I really like the small bits of QOTSA

  • this or ce 5?

  • @teokohn i will go for this one... In my opinion CE-5 is not that shimmering chorus... its too digital for me :) But its up to you mate :D Cheers.

  • @Morblind CE-5 good for bass though

  • Does this work on bass with distortion?

  • 1:57 -2:07, can i please have the guitar tab that i love that rythm

  • did i hear pearl jam "release me" in there? if so then awesome!!! i friggin love that song

  • killing joke rules!!! gigs are coming soon !

  • i want one so bad.

  • whats better

    neo clone

    or small clone

  • what are the settings for come as you are?

  • @slipknotxx666 Rate on 3 ( its third mark) and the depth in the UP position to play Come as you are.

  • grandma take me home, grandma take me home!

  • I love this guy.

  • why does this pedal sound so tinny..?

  • I haave one of these. But I have a little proble. I cant find any distortion with this box. I mean I have Boss od-1 and if I plug it to small clone I dont like that sound. ProCo dirty rat dont work too. Have somebody good experience with small clone and any distortion pedal? THX

  • @heamorhoid od-1 really isn't ditortion, its used to boost a distortion that already there. and second, make sure you plug it in as guitar, distortion, then chorus. I recommend the DS-1 Distortion from Boss or if you can afford it, the Valve Distortion from DIgitech.

  • @heamorhoid Oh it is better with distorition on DEPH settings

  • @heamorhoid try routing your chorus first in the line of pedals... like plug your guitar straight into the chorus. then patch that to every other effect you use.. That should get you better distoretion because the signal goes through distortion after the chorus.

  • @swingsetfreaks101 dude time based effects second, tone changing effects first. or run time based effects in the effect out.

  • I love chorus, best type of pedal you buy.

  • Hey, i'm trying to find a good Chorus Pedal that would go great with clean and a slight distortion channel!!! Any suggestions?! There are so many you guys have done I just can't find one to choose, they are all great!

  • i have to say i had this pedal and it was amazing it was the only pedal of my nirvana phase that survived. but the only problem was it made a shit load of noise with my amp and when i clicked the button it clicked through the amp and occasionally buzzed and just really wasn't working for me but it sounded amazing also. i now use a mxr zakk wylde and only have mxr pedals on my board because they good and work better with my amp. great pedal if it works with your set up just didnt work with me

  • @raquel1234ful might have been a bad switch.. i doubt they test them all.

  • HA! Killing Joke! What a killer joke!

  • come asyou are at first

  • @CLOVERFEILD1234 no it's not it's KILLING JOKE you moron

  • on 2:56 it sounds like Release from Pearl Jam's debut album Ten.

  • How'd you get the boost at 4:53?

  • @wulord he's playing a 65 amp and they break up at lower-mid volume, so if you turn down your guitar volume with the amp volume still up you get a clean sound, then roll the volume of your guitar up for overdriven sound.

  • 2:12 sounds terriable

  • Il miglior chorus secondo me...

  • too noisy for my taste, I believe a chorus has not necessary to be analogue, even this sound so artificial, so what's the deal?

  • kurt never admitted that.. he never even went to court for it. the guys from killing joke only met with nirvana's attorneys and they just blew them off. they still held the lawsuit against them but dropped it right after kurt died. i've never heard once he actually went to court and admitted it was a rip off.. i DID hear him say it was coincidental.

  • This one or Boss CE-5 ?

  • @182Xtreme93 this. analog ftw.

  • a little history lesson. the original small clone used to say mini chorus on it instead of full chorus. i wonder if the circuits are the same of different.

  • give andy a break! Cobain was obviously one of the most famous users of this pedal and probably the reason it has gotten so popular, so it makes sense to play a few nirvana tunes! Also, i think he was playing Eighties by killing joke in the opening of the demo. i could be wrong though. Go Andy! You're a star in my eyes. hahaha

  • though there are alot of songs out there that have a similar sound to that of nirvana such as jingle of a dogs collar by butthole surfers.

  • pearl jam yeah!

  • releasme! jej Pearl Jam

  • why play a shit band on a nice pedal?are u tryin to promote this?

  • whats the song at 1:56?

  • me likes. Good chorus tone, kinda like TC if you tilt your head to the left ;)

  • What chorus would you recommend to get REM-like tones.

  • I see the words on a rocking horse of time

I see the birds in the rain

    Ohh...ohh...ohh...ohh...

    thx andy !!!

  • @insaneinthebrain1978 hahah i thought that was release by pearl jam....isnt that sucha beautiful song

  • Killing Joke! Awesome!

  • electro harmonix makes a great chorus pedal, but i do not like chorus.

  • This Electro Harmonix Chorus is a great pedal, but I am not a chorus guy, myself.

  • this guy must really like nirvana.

both "come as you are" and "lithium".

next time play a different song along with a nirvana song. 2 nirvana songs makes me feel like you are obsessed or something. i like nirvana but come on!

  • Relax, I never played Come As You Are..read the other comments. Cobain used one so it's worth playing at least one Nirvana tune.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos man, dont listen to that goat fool.. thanks for taking the time to show us these pedals.. helps a lot and more people appreciate it than the idiots who can only criticize..

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos i liked the review.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos bloddygoat52 is so stupid dont even listen

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos please andy could you demo the Mod Tone aqua chorus?

sounds pretty close to the boss CE-2.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos in the first song how much rate do you use??and what kind of depth??

  • @capolonese are you blind or something? no ofense.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

How could you demo the SC and not play recognizable grunge? It's THE grunge chorus pedal. It's all over STP's first album (Core) as well.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Andy, you're really a good player i bought 2 pedal at pro guitar shop.

    Cheers from Brazil man!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos well, i think you should had played Come as You are, or aneurysm, since theres no chorus in Lithium, but it was a great demo anyway...(:

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos I'm your fan Andy! Cheers from Brazil and Cheers from all over the world!

  • @bloddygoat52

    HOLY SHIT TWO NIRVANA SONGS

JESUS I DIDNT EVEN KNOW NIRVANA RECORDED THAT MANY

  • Ahh the common idiotic mistake No it isnt Come as you are you made that mistake along with most in the music industry which lead Nirvana to go to court to prove it isnt a rip off The band is called the Killing joke and the song is called the Eighties and from your comment its a time you dont know anything about.. And im glad whoever buddy is played both very accurate and well made me subscribe..

  • @bloddygoat52 He never played Come as you are, that was Eighties by Killing Joke. Great demo Andy!

  • @rokkenroll Kurt Cobain admitted that he stole this riff for Come as you are ha rock n roll swindle man

  • @fattirevsbud i'm pretty sure that he stated he didnt really "steal" it on purpose.

  • @rokkenroll

If there were any ROCK MUSIC test, that would be one hard to beat... especially for bloddygoat-alike guys.

  • @rokkenroll it sounded like come as you are by nirvana,in the the beginning

  • @bloddygoat52 It's actually "Eighties" by Killing Joke. Not come as you are, there's a subtle difference in the riff, but its hard to detect if you don't know the two songs.

  • @bloddygoat52 Lol are you insane, Cobain is known for using this pedal. Of course hes going to play some Nirvana

  • @bloddygoat52 he can play whatever hell he wants. Ya prick, make your own review

  • @bloddygoat52 thats not nirvana cobain copied the riff from some english band and cobain used this pedal

  • wut a douche

  • @bloddygoat52 The pedal IS best known for the Nirvana sound so I guess it would make sense.

  • @bloddygoat52 if you think that the first riff played is come as you are your wrong, thats Killing Jokes 80s song

  • @bloddygoat52 im obsessed! go pro guitar!

  • @bloddygoat52 your a Nirvana hater for sure lol

  • @bloddygoat52 thats "eighties" by killing joke.

  • @bloddygoat52 Who cares?! Your post just makes it look like you hate Nirvana.

  • @bloddygoat52 Idiot.

  • @bloddygoat52 What's your problem? Did you pay to see this video? Go away, just go. Shoo!

  • all EHX pedals have a different sound. than other pedals

  • is a stone phaser pedal the same as a chorus pedal? i just started guitar and i wanted to know

  • Phaser and chorus are 2 different effects, even though both are modulation devices. I would suggest looking up some of the more extreme stompboxes to get a better feel for the differences though - when I first started I couldn't tell which was which, then I started to listen to EVH more - it helps. ;D

  • just got one for 50 euros
