Your videos are alot of help but I have a question about a leveling kit. I have a 2005 f250 I just ordered a 2" leveling kit and I run 35" tires on there now but with the extra 2" will I be able to fit 37" tires?
@SC45091 You will be happier with the 35s. There will be no rubbing on the inner fender wells and it wont affect your gearing. 37s will will slow the truck off the line considerably.
@powerstrokehelp ive got a question i have a 2001 ford f250 2 wheel drive and i have a 1 inch little leveling kit on it and i am wondering if i would be able to run 33's with out rubbing i think 32's would be cutting it kinda close but i do not know
I know this is for ford vehicles, but I have a 1997 chevy 2500 longbed 4x4 ext.cab and I wanted to put the newer 2011 chevy 2500 rims on it, would I have to put a spacer on it or no.
Gas in 6.4 question. Had 60/40 mixture of diesel to gas in 2009 truck. Ran for 15 miles before shut it down without noticing any abnormality. Towed to shop drained tank, changed oil, filters both oil and fuel, filled with diesel and additive. Have run 1500 miles without noising any change in performance of truck. Would you recommend any other work or is it a waiting game to see a failure in near future?
Dealing with the video on gas in diesel tank No comments allowed on this one,You said to leave filter in,So just draining Tank, and putting in diesel is enough,,then change filter after 500 Mi? No need to flush out the rails or fuel line?
@camperdiesel123 sorry for the no comments. What you have stated is true for 7.3 and 6.0, but be sure to add some fuel additive to help with the process. THIS IS NOT TRUE FOR THE 6.4. If you have gasoline in the fuel tank of an 2008-2010 6.4 powerstroke, have it towed to the first qualified shop you can and get it dealt with. Gasoline contamination is the number one killer of the fuel system in the 6.4 and it will grenade the high pressure fuel pump and the injectors. BIGG MONEY TO FIX
not to be confused with running a lug centric wheel on a lug centric wheel spacer though right? only a hub centric wheel spacer is needed if you are running stock oem or hub centric wheels
alright i have a 1997 f150 do i need hub centric ones, im wanting to get the 2 inch ones and i want good quality like those in the video, where can i get some of those american steel ones?
I just bought a 1995 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer . It has the 2003 Ford Explorer wheels on it. Both front and rear wheels are tucked in too far into the wheel well, plus when turning, the wheels rub excessively. I then decided that I wanted to add wheels spacers on my car.
I have a really BIG question, for a RWD, do I need hub centric spacers for the rear wheels, and lug centric for the front? or, but do I need hub centric for all?
Very nice explanation of something so many people overlook.
By the way, As a kid I used to follow Fred Goeske in drag racing when he raced Plymouth funnycars. I'd gladly pay him the extra bones for his spacers over cheap Chinese ones anyday.
@powerstrokehelp ..what do I have to do since I have to turn the hubs to engage the 4x4 on the front wheels..after using spacers,,are they goning to sit 2 inches deep inside the new wheels if i use 2010 wheels on my 2003?thanks
Alas, our local industry lobbyists are too lazy to push through a legislation update. Hubcentric spacers are practically identical to fitting a lower offset wheel, yet legislation doesn't reflect that.
Thanks bill for another great video ! ...keep em coming !.....What about going the opposite way ?....like putting 16' OEM superduty wheels on a 2005 and up superduty ?....forums are all over the place on this subject,....some say they simply will not clear the brake calipers...some say they will clear the calipers but the wheels will stick out so much from the fenders that it will not look good....wish I could get the right answer before spending money for nothing.
Hey I have a question... Is it really safe to use a two piece wheel adapter on a 26" wheel if it is made out of quality steel or billet aluminum. I only ask because it seems as though the only thing holding the two pieces of adapter together are fewer smaller diameter bolts...???
GREAT VIDEO... detailed explanation... and a little USA steel product endorsement...(LOL) BUT you are right... so many accidents come from wrong installations and wrong type of spacers.... if your vehicle isn't meant to ride on the bolts DON'T RISK it. Spend the extra money and get HUB centric. (YOU GOT my subscription)
WOW Thanks!!! I didnt know, I also have a 2000 excursion. I Put 24" rims on it & my tires rub on the suspension when I turn it all the way. Do you think spacers would help my problem? THANKS
Hey Bill, has Ford been using cheaper materials on the later model superduty's? I ask because my 08 seems like it has thinner sheet metal on it than my 03. Maybe it is just me, but it feels like thinner metal. I sure like the 6.4 more than my 6.0 though!
Hey Bill, will you be making any videos on the new 2008 6.4's? Mine has been great so far, mileage has been 15 + on the highway. Engine isn't even broke in yet, so I hope it gets better with time.
so put hub centric wheels on hub centric spacers right?????

@jagmechtech run some fuel additive like stanadyne performance formula or lucas just to help lubricate, but it should be OK

those spacers are way over priced, there is no way that the cost of machining that spacer is anything close to $150 a piece

@mikemustafa You will still be able to manually lock your hubs. You just have to have the correct wheel centers that allow access.

This guy always has great advise!
He forgot to mention that the factory wheels "Hub Centric" use the factory "Hub Centric" lug nuts.
For after market wheels use only lug nuts specified by the wheel manufacture!
Also remember to save a set of those factory lug nuts for the spare wheel. Just in case you get a flat!

Nice video. One thing though, Fred suggests using red loctite on the stock threads and to torque to 165lb ft.
I use these same spacers on my 05 Excursion to run the 08 SD 8-spoke 20" wheels.
Super high quality stuff from Fred!
