Saab vs Porsche

Had saab vs porsche a few days ago on the highway:) some guy in a brand new porsche was driving like a madman, decided to see a saab 9-5 sport could do and i managed to keep up perfectly fine, even surpassing him at 230 km/h xD

You know if you watch the top gear review on the saab 9-5 aero the guy says it will do 40-70mph faster than a porsche 911 turbo and it can! I own one it all depends on what saab were talking about. the 9-3 viggen could eat a porsche 911 any day a normal saab 9-3 not soo much.....

@timmysummers ill second that. i didnt believe clarkson on top gear at first but then i drove a friends 911 carerra turbo and im gonna say actually i wasnt really impressed..and i own a 9-5 aero (same powerplant as the viggen). the porsche felt as heavy as my huge sedan and the turbo lag was just ridiculous. id pick my $3500 saab over a $60,000+ porsche any day of the week. torque+the right gearing = awesomeness

@icouyu but wouldnt hyrogen improve the effency and output combustion more if you had both eci, electronic carbarsion injection and dreict injection. besides thir going throw the air filter in the dreciect injection system you woulhd the fuel in the injection carabotr being vaporized before it enters the valve. and that would be even more ture if it was a hcci hydrogen enghine. but you woulhd have to be quite carefull about the air to fuel ratio to stop it form back fireing.

@visionit2007 He was blocking my way for several laps so I was definitely faster then him :). Porsche is well known for the fantastic braking ability so if I didn't hit the last turn and was at least equally as fast on the straight their is no way to brake later the him.

@MickeJansson1 i'm with visionit2007 the saab is definitely not faster on the straights, IMHO being faster usually involves passing the car. it looks like the porsche took a wider turn to let you by, you were only eating his ass because you can't brake as fast. it seems pathetic that a track-only car with probably thousands in mods and a trailer to haul it can't even brake as quickly as a bone stock old ass porsche that prob drove to and from the track..let alone keep up with it on the straights

@ttblj when I wrote I was faster I meant the whole lap :). It helps for overtaking but doesn't really matter if you're fast in just one section or only the straights if you're slow in the rest of the sections.

@ttblj on straight looks like they pretty even, porsche does cornering litle better, and both car are not stock, considering that porshe price is 3 times more than saabs, saab does much better job for the buck, and you dont look like a cock in it :D
