  • and others are british

  • They are not british paratroopers you fool theyr american

  • great film

  • The Actual DZ was at the Ginkelse heide(Ginkelse Heath) Just east of the town Ede,Every year On september 100s of men still parachute on this spot for the Remembrance of Operation Market Garden,Even Vets made the famous jump,Some years ago.

Most of the Movie was filmed in Deventer And Zutphen,Because Arnhem has been modernized,After the war.

The War Scars are still visible on various locations in Holland, Arnhem/Nijmegen/Oosterbeek/Ede/(The Reichswald Forrest Dutch-German Border)

  • @LBUK2010 Considering how crazy they seemed, that was probably the most normal thing they had seen in quite a while.

  • The parachuting scene is just spectacular...I never get tired of watching it.

  • And the brainwashed fools thought Model was only concerned for himself....what a total load of bullshit!!!!

  • they jumped into hell paratroopers forsaken

  • must of been pretty weird for the mental patients who came out of the asylum and first thing they see is thousands of British paratroopers

  • Lol...dont forget my cigars

    Model is king at defense....

  • must be scary as shit, being in that first tank, at 4:47

  • Para troopers ftw

  • To bad they did not know about the 2.nd SS-panzer korps

  • Fuck the German DVD version is cut completely. Thanks for uploading.

  • @MatzahBallsForPrez its 'jawohl'

  • I find the scene with the looneys in the woods very intresting.A tounge in check comment on lunacy of war.Btw thanks for posting this epic war movie.

  • Knowing that it was all done without computer graphics, the parachute drop scenes are just fantastic to watch. Absolutely gorgeous!

  • great movie,wonderfully done

  • In fact when this movie was made, '75 or '76, I was in the Dutch Army, and we, drafted soldiers, were asked to play a part in a movie. Of course most of us agreed, and my whole platoon played a part as an extra. Our part was marching over the Veluwe and pretending to be German soldiers shooting down British Paratroopers. The director on this set was worse than our drill instructor, but we had a great time, Army food, no pay, but a lot of fun. As a benefit the whole platoon did see this movie.

  • this was one of the first war movies i ever saw

  • I never fail to be impressed by the airborne drop scene, one of the most spectacular of any war movie. No amount of CGI today can be as realistic.

  • is it just me or do the 82nd paratroopers @6:25 have British accents?

  • @black00dice i noticed that too, im not sure if they used british actors or if they wernt suppose to say anything like extras

  • I love the Battle scenes that remind me of Idaho or Northern Some-State. Oaks, Hickory, and a glimpse of a Pine and Beech or Birch.

  • @resculptit But it's on the Veluwe on the Netherlands. It's an area in the east of the country.

  • How scary must that be hung up in a parachute stuck on the aircraft?!?!!??!!

  • @dfc278 pretty freakin scary

  • seven... ur a noob. in ww2 there was no a single p51 in command by a briish, irish, polish or canadian airforce. IT WAS ALL AMERICAN. oh by the way put 100 of those shells from those 25pdr's up ur ass while general patton makes u put ur balls on a boiling hot cup of tea for sucking on the u.k's banana

  • @SuperKOOLAIDMAN1996 your a bnnoob the p-51 was desinged for the brits read a history book on the p-51

  • @usafisasome You're so right. The Brits were searching for new planes. North American could provide in this demand and came with the P-51 in record time. But the P-51 was not a good plane with the Allison engine, later versions with the RR Merlin made it one of the best fighters of WWII.

  • @usafisasome

And very lovely it was too cor blimey.

  • @SuperKOOLAIDMAN1996 #2 squadron of the R.A.F. had them for reconnaissance and low level ground attack in May 1942 for use in channel patrol. Mark 1's I believe.

  • @SuperKOOLAIDMAN1996 it is just a pity you lot sat on your Ass for most of the war. I suppose it was because you were the same colour as a banana YELLOW

  • Now that is how you do an artillery barrage!

  • I relly Like when the brittish 25pdr starts to fireing. and a few shells hits a german postion. and the Also a couple a brittish P51 give the germans a few bombs and the German moral was broken..

  • @svensksoldat91 well thats all they showed i mean thnere was probally more

  • In reality the WWII doctrine was for the planes to slowly descend during the drop so the last man out fell the shortest distance and hit the ground at about the same time as the first man out. Still, it's pretty well done for a movie.

  • nice movie and the germans actully speak german. not just english with german accent lovely :D

  • @nogetmeget1 Yea, I prefer them to speak German and have subtitles. Wish the Battle of the Bulge movie did that?

  • dont salute to your captain he will become a target for the germans

  • @ShowYourWorking Followed only by Field Marshall Model's intuition of the reason for a British paratroop landing at Arnhem.

  • @ironpirites Exactly, pompus bastard thinks 10,000 men are there to capture 1 German field marshal, instead of the nearby town of Arnhem and its bridges

  • thank you for posting i lost my copy of this movie
