That doesn't look like a Jack Dempsey... it looks like a Jaguar or some sort of striped african cichlid. And i agree with everyone else, they don't look years old. Especially since green Terrors can end up bigger than a large dinner plate (12" plus) , and Jack Depseys can get up to 8". Also, that looks like just a few too many large, agressive fish for the size of tank.

@sweetnpink85 yeah thats a Jack Dempsey, it just bit dark alot of time but you can see it blue/green metalic spangles. I would say thats Dempsey probably nearly 5-6 inch mark as its beginning to get its adult colouring. As juvee they usually very washed out and look pale. But adults are a dark colouring with blue/green metalic spangles all over.

Hard to guess age but i put it over a year/ year and half at the very least as Dempsey not exactly fast growers.

gts seem more peaceful for mee, my jd and gt are same size and believe me, the jd attacks the smaller firemouths more often than the green terror(i switched each fish every week to experiment wit them) IMO from this video and my own experience is that green terrors will try to fight lets say a severum but if it is slightly larger they will inmeadetly back down, the jds are more active and do bite hard, my gt just seems to push wit mouth not bite, get a GT not JD,gts r more colorful too
