  • Nice flying and nice plane my man! Hope to get a j3 soon!

  • this is awsome!! going to have to try this sometime :p

  • Very nice!!!!

  • its top how this is legal in alaska

  • Alaska?

  • Sure, you broke many rules (including the 45 mph speed limit at 1:22), but at least you can escape from a police officer's hot pursuit by simply pulling the stick back and climbing away.

  • the only reason that is legal is because the road is still under construction!

  • @movieshop1000 actually, its still not legal, even if the road IS under construction,

  • al the way brother, thats FLYINg or nothing else

  • I forgot for a second that it was a plane. thums up if you thought the same

  • That is some serious IFR (I Fly Roads) haha. Thank god that thing doesn't have a transponder!

  • GREAT. very nice and very fun :)

  • EXCELLENT!!!!! Glad to see pilots having fun again!!!

  • VFR - we follow roads :-)

  • People do that in Flight Simulator - but it's NOT cool to do it in reality, you could have caused a major road accident if a car had been coming from the opposite direction!

  • @longtalker if he saw a car coming ahead he just pull the plane.. they dont give brevet to blind people yet

  • highway ha cheezy joke

  • Amazing !!!!!!!!!! greetings from Greece :)

  • COOL!!!

  • Its not a car you now that right?

  • I'm sure the road was a new construction and still closed. As far as the touch and go, I'm OK with that. In fact it's good practice under a controlled condition. It's the followings of the road at 2' high is where I have a problem and if he had a problem the FAA would probably get him on Part 91.13, Careless or reckless operation, especially if he were carrying a pax. That part was stupid.

  • STEEL BALLS!

  • Pull over, sir. Do you know how fast you were going back there?

  • very very good...!!!

  • thats whats fun about GA is you can have fun with it as long as your safe with it somone popping out of the woods seeing a plane go past runs back says we went the wrong way this is the airport not gringle road lmfao

  • So exactly what FARs were violated? There are no regs prohibiting off-airport landings, there were no structures or people within 500'. I would venture to say that the pilot is familiar with this area and had previously scouted it out from on the ground prior to flying it.

  • @briarsmoke That's what I was thinking...looks like it was recently paved and constructed though. Maybe it's a brand new road closed off to traffic?

On a side note, I'd like to see police officers try and figure out how some strange narrow skid marks got there.

  • @TonyAirlines haha yer.. or what the police would do if they saw it.. they would be like oh shit a plane... oh shit guess we can not do anything to stop it either...

  • U r a real jack ass. Totally reckless and stupid. i am suprised your license hasn't been pulled.

  • did you scope it out ahead of time for power lines?

  • how fast was it when you were touching the road ?

  • @VruDARK J3 cubs touchdown speed is normally about 40-45 knots, musta been about that or he'd start going up again

  • NO PASSING ON THE DOUBLE LINES!!

  • Hey stop given him shit. At least he landed on his side of the road.

  • "honey, which car did you take to get the groceries?"

"Oh, I just took the cub."

  • Hey man next time you go stop by my house and pick me up ill make a road block so you can land..

  • The Air Force was doing it with T-38's on the highway outside Del Rio, Texas twenty years ago....

  • In many states you are allowed to land on county roads. Especially out west. The FAA says 500' unless it's for take-off or landing which is the case here.

  • @seltmail They say 500' FROM people or structures, not above, when referring to a sparsely populated area.

  • I love how a bunch of people that don't know FAA rules or anything about flying post on here as if they are ace pilots.. If you don't know what you are talking about, educate yourself, than post..

  • Awsome Vid but you are an Idiot

  • that was really cool i will try it

  • I wish i could give u a medal, i hope i can do that some time!

  • You really crazy but good landing ;)

  • Those cubs are such cool little things

  • Thats terrific. Thanks for posting. What speed were you doing just over the road??? It doesnt "look" that fast, though I'm sure it was....

    Thanks Again for posting.

  • Excellent training video for new pilots. You were practicing engine out forced landing procedures I love it... God Bless America this video is so much fun to watch.

  • Beyond illegal. Love it.

  • Love this vid!

  • what i f an 18 wheeler was going 100 mph right at you

  • @counterstrifekid he'd ascend.

  • Actually, many areas don't have rules, laws on this.

  • Great video! WHAT A BLAST!

  • Ohhh, breaking the law can be so much fun! :-)

  • At first i was like "lol this plane is a joke" but over time i have grown to love these things!!! You can pretty much land anywhere, go faster than your average car on a freeway, they must be hella fun! I'm sure they're the cheapest ones to buy as well so maybe the average joe can own one some day. It blends that line between - owning a plane is a like owning a Ferrari, never happen - I think i'll head on down to the grocery store, let me get into my Cubby lol

  • Exact reason FAA gives everyone shit. Great skills, but bad example...

  • Thats Nuttz! I don't know if that is good piloting or crazy piloting! It looks like maybe the road was not open for public use. But thats Nuttz! Good video!

  • FAA is a kill joy.

  • it would be funny if there was a cop hiding looking for speeders. ahahah f..k!!!

  • yeess! cub rules the skyes... and the road bwahaha!

  • to nad there wasnt traffic!

  • @ArcticFox1095 Yes nad, nad indeed...

  • There are OLD pilots and Bold pilots-however there are NO old bold pilots.

  • 1000 ft or the end of the runway

  • Not illegal under Federal air regulations since there doesn't appear to be anybody on or near the road. Depending on what state, not necessarily illegal as some states allow landing on roads. Not at all dangerous either, if the pilot know the road is clear of obstructions. Done such things myself, back when video cameras were heavy and expensive, so nobody had one.

But yes, a very cool video.

  • cool :D

  • The nurse asks the motorist that had to be pulled out of their wrecked car - "What was the last thing you remember seeing?" The kid responds, I'm not really sure... one minute I look down to answer a text message, then I look up only to see a freaking air plane headed right towards me! I turned off the road, next thing I know, a tree was in my front seat. Thankfully, I got it all on my iPhone. Wanna see it?"

That would be funny to read in the paper or see on the news.

  • gone for a nice little drive, i see

  • I love this plane, very good skills! nice video

  • Ballsy. Stupid, but ballsy.

  • Very nice. Where was this done? I don't need exact location, Just curious. Combination of skill and guts, Good location too, no power lines to worry about. We can always dodge a car or two. Kudos, wish I was there.

  • got to love class "E" airspace

  • IFR- I Follow Roads

  • @jancam555 ...now thats just funny....lol

  • @jancam555 jajajajajajaajajajajaja!

  • cars driving down the road (CUB!!!!) a bear? no a piper!!!

  • under the radar...

  • oh yeah that looks like a blast!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so how many faa rules did u brake

  • I'm pretty sure all of them.

  • @Grubbs14

nah just most depends on if you buzzed the control tower or not lol!

  • @Grubbs14 Even the 250 kt speed liimit under 10,000 feet MSL

    lolololol

  • @Grubbs14 F*ck 'em! That'd be a hell of a suprise to see a J3 heading at you in your Honda! lol

  • @Grubbs14 lol may be all of them but this is what the cub was made to do haha

  • @a100nick Who cares...it's the fun of flying. Besides, he's flying out in the sticks anyway...

  • @a100nick Believe it or not, he didn't break any. If there were cars on the road he would need to be 500' unless he was landing...which he was and there weren't...so he's good! :)

    FAR 91.119

  • 500' from any human constuction so that includes the road and the bridge I think....

  • @a100nick How many rules does the US government brake? many more than this pilot....

  • @a100nick He didn't "BRAKE" intil he landed.

  • @a100nick

This is a j-3 cub, he probably didn't even exceed the posted speed limit.

  • Very nice. ;)

    it makes fun ? :D

  • everyone always comments of powerlines and cops and cars . Its simple to see who is on the roads from the air and time it. power lines are easy too. If you fly and cant name every power line on your normal routes then take your eyes off the gps and look for them and remember them. Flying is fun enjoy it. but be smart as well. Fly for safety not legality!!!

  • wow

  • Me and my buddy landed a Cub in meteor crater in Arizona many years ago. Memories are made of this!

  • Great way to hit a power line!!!!

  • you are good in flying low by the ground

  • i think the regs read 500 ft from persons or structures. if he stayed 500 ft from cars or people and houses, he is a ok!

  • @trckrjoe Ya that is true but the FAA could still get him for being wreckless or unsafe.

  • @trckrjoe you must be 500ft agl within 2000ft of anyone/anything. If nothing is near you then you can go as low as you want as long as it poses no danger to anyone or anything including your plane.

  • when u changed line u shoul have given a signal on the road :))

  • Bravo!!!! I love it!!!

  • I remember back when I was a little kid, maybe 5 years old (14 years ago now, around 1994/1995) my uncle would land his Cessna 180 on the highway in front of my house every Sunday afternoon to pick me up for a ride. Oh how I miss the days when our government wasn't just a bunch of pricks!

  • omfg you'r nuts??

  • crazy git and it is a real plane ,looks like Australia

  • its a freaking RC airplane!!

    gosh you people are retarded

  • No way this is an RC plane. First, the sound is realistic. Second, look at the width of the road compared to the size of the plane-- no RC that big. Third, it would have flown way out of radio range if it were RC. It is real. Real illegal, but still real.

  • @costemon haha no -you- are retarded. are you even a pilot? you seem to b just some random person with no affiliation who just saw this video. Take notice, about every other person who comented either IS a pilot and KNOWS more than you do. We personally know the secret man who did this, and he happens to be the best cub pilot any of us have ever known. also i just wanted to know, what in the world even made you think this was an RC plane? you can still be dumb yourself, but u called us retarded-

  • @costemon haha and also, tell me what you know about airplanes? or better yet, tell me what you know about -RC- planes? a j3 cub has probably a 30ft wing span i would say, how wide do you think that road would be? Look at the shadows from the wing, and comprehend the ratio that you see

  • @costemon your a dumbass

  • Cool. We would not be allowed to do that in Canada.

  • Isnt this illegal unless your having engine problems?

  • Yes it is illegal and whomever did this can be prosecuted with this video alone. Poor judgment, no airmanship,

  • Yes its a new road that isnt finish yet, you can see it when he lift up in the end. So all in all, it is planned, but there could have been children playing on it.

  • There could of been children playing on a highway?!?!?!

  • Yes! simply because children have a natural curiosity. They think it is safe to play on a place where there is no traffic and they know like all other that the road isnt finish, so therefore legal to play on.

  • Oh, I thought it was an open highway.

  • Looks very fun! I assume the pilot scoped out the nearby area from above, for potential road traffic before attempting this. That would leave no possibility of being surprised by someone "coming around the corner" or "pulling out from a side road"...

  • @shushing3 - I think it looks like a new road that has not been opened to traffic. To the pilot - Way to go living out one of my dreams! Floating around in a cub at driving speed but being able to yank up on the stick and zoom above the road ... who hasn't wanted to do that? Such a different flying experience to what I know. Great vid!

  • Epic!

  • Ha Ha Amazing! Screw safety!

  • isnt thaat illegal or sommit?!!!! lucky some car never came round that corner or ud be a goner!

  • Pretty cool. Just don't do it all the time. Hate to see the cub smack into a semi that pulled out because the pilot field to see the sign, "Trucks Crossing".

  • now lets see the cops chase this

  • This is indeed a bold pilot, he will likely never become an old pilot.

  • he's in a j3 cub, they're designed to land and takeoff in extremely peculiar situations, keep watching j3 cub vids this isn't nearly as crazy as some of the other pilots

  • bla bla bla what do you think bush pilots do for a living?

  • Another actual decent pilot!

  • lol you even landed on the right side of the road, well not 4 me XD

  • Thats so bad ass.

  • I can imagine some guy coming along and thinking WTF?

  • Just imagine in the future when all of us have flying cars, we'll be doing this all day long.

  • ? we ill all most likely be dead before that happens man! just saying

  • im kinda late to respond ^.^ but there will never be flying cars, its been designed but the reason being that its not sold is that if it flys, certification is required. Also you know those fools driving and texting and eating? put that person in a plane and multiply it by how many drivers do that while drving. it would be a wreck.

  • There WILL be flying cars! Havn't you heard about the terrafugia? Google it or something.

  • true and also it wastes way to much gas for no benefit besides it looking cool

  • imagine your about to turn out of you driveway when you hear a loud motor coming towards you. then a piper cub comes around the corner, that would scare the crap out of me lol

  • Damn thats awesome

  • I hope you knew the area well enough to know for 100% fact that there were no power lines crossing the road, or this video would never have been posted.

    Balls!

  • yea

  • You got some balls.

  • I wish my car could just lift off like that :o(

  • Excellent!!!!!

    Fantastic footage.

this is what flying is all about.

  • in alaska the faa law i heard is you have to be 300-500 agl over structures Buildings, houses, refineries etc. but you can land on roads if you have a problem on your plane.anyways thats what i heard.

  • Wonderful!

More of stuff herea on page!

    //David

  • this is not legal :)

  • nice video... you would get one hell of a fine for doing that here, anything below 500 feat AGL they go nuts

  • Very cool video! However, if that is you or a friend flying in the USA, or you have good knowledge who it is, I would get rid of it online. The FAA can be a real bitch when they want to.

  • WTF?... A CAR MEN A CAR!!!! UP UP UP!!! BOOOOOOOOM. XD very good.

  • That was great!! Loved it!! Thanks for posting for the rest of us to enjoy.

  • It would be funny if there was a cop hiding looking for speeders. I wonder what he would do if you fly by him?! Good video. Looks fun. As a pilot, as much as I would love to try that, I guess I just don't dare to. But you Cubby drivers are pretty daring! Good video to watch!

  • do you still have your license?

  • LOL, next time use English

  • LOL...faroolabjalmak...you make me laugh, thanks. Its a good joke..i know your probably an American...halal praise praise bro LOL

  • it wouldve been funny if a cop wouldve tried to pull you over lol.. good stuff man!

  • Jaysus!

  • nice lift for roadsign avoidance on both wingtips!

    Hope you don't get caught

  • i take it this is illeagal as hell, looks like a newly built road, but good thing no traffic

  • It is not illegal per se, but being careless and reckless is.

Cool video. I really enjoyed that.

  • hahaha crazy man!

  • so i take it you have NO power lines on that road?

  • 30.000 $ -ish.

  • haha Nice man.

  • What a gorgeous driving in a Cub!

  • What nice memories this vids gives me...used to do that stuff long time ago, I wish I could do it again...lost my medical snif...can't fly anymore...

  • Get your sport pilot LSA. All you need is a drivers license.

  • Even in Canada? Cool Didn't know this...will look for it, thx for the info..!!

  • I wanna buy a piper now =D

  • This video is priceless! :D Years ago my Grandpa was a cropduster, and sometimes he would actually land on the main road and taxi to the farmers field he was spraying so that he could refuel and refill with chemicals. (It was NOT a busy road, he couldn't have done it if it was).

  • lol the best cub video ever... all we needed was a car coming down the road....awesome... thats the kinda flying I grew up around and it made me a better pilot Piper cubs are the best airplane you can learn in....

  • yeah its really simple

  • holy crap thats awesome!

  • i love the j3 cub beautiful plane
