i already saw your other videos, what do u think about ceriatone trainwreck clone in terms of tone and construction in comparison whit your other amps?
@AndreAmeli I love the Ceriatone. It's very dependant on the tubes you install, asa weak tube will be very apparent..microphonic, squeals, etc. But with good tubes, it's a rocker!
Great sound Andy! what year is your paul? and is just a regular standard, it seems to have a nice flame top to it, like it's a AAA top! thanks. looking foward to the next vid.
Hey man...don't listen to the naysayer(s). This vid may be traditional, but you nail the changes, have amazing tone, and play great, soulfulf lines throughout. I'm not sure what in the world is *boring* about that?? Gimme a break, dude. Excellent job!
One day, someone is really gonna shock me on youtube and play a Les Paul in a different way from the one dimensional approach you see here over and over and over.......again....snore.....
Oh' yeah it was a 1971 Marshall plexi 50 watt whether it makes sense or not that is what it was. The Les Paul was a Sunburst with PAF's. If an amp sounds beautiful with no reverb then you've got a good one. That's what this combo was. I've had a few nice set-ups that fit this category- a 65' Mahogany Melody Maker with one pick-up ( black w/ chrome screws) through a 65 (pre CBS) black face Fender Bassman sitting on the matching Fender cab with stock 2-12" Jensens ( or maybe they were Utah's?)
Had the pleasure of playing a Les Paul and Marshall 50 watt half stack combo that belonged to Tom Hamilton when I lived in Hollywood. It was around 1987 and my room mate was an amp mod guy at a local studio. He brought this set-up home for a couple of days and let me play through it for about an hour. I think he was afraid I'd break it. It was bone stock and for all I know nothing was wrong with it. Sure the hell didn't sound like anything was. Headroom, harmonics, tone, crunch, noise level, A1.
Over the years i've played many guitar/amp combinations...have to say the sound i was most happy with was through a cranked marshall 50 combo using a les paul and a 62 strat..they would sustain forever and had a sound i'd never achieved with any other amp. DAMN, wish i still had that set up.
As usual Andy nice playing, you always put your heart and soul into it.
Every time I play one of my 50 watt heads...It sounds like a classic rock superband. Sometimes I hear ZZ. Sometines I hear the Zep. Deep Purple. All of the killer bands come to mind. We've probably heard this combo more times than we realize!
I've heard EVH did a LOT of the first album with a LP...
I like to see this guy and gregguitars duell:)

Hey Paul! Glad you dig it. And yes...there's nothing like a good Marshall 50.
I've got a 1973 50 watt head that kills. Just kills. and it's a PCB too. I guess 90% of the tone is the iron. Thanks!

Yeah...I went in debt buying TWO 50 watt heads from 1970, but I'm glad I did it, as they will go back up in price...I'm sure of it!
Thanks for4 the compliment, and I hope you find that same strat/marshall combo at a garage sale for 10 dollars! ;-)
