I think its ridiculous that the National Guard has changed into front line soldiers. I believe that the regular Army and Army reserve should fight over seas while the National Guard should be responsible for serving and protecting the individual states at the command of the Governor for state emergencies. The Guard should do exactly that...Guard its home states.

The President (Active Army) needs the approval and support of the States and Congress (National Guard and Reserves) to conduct major combat operations.............So basically, every service member bleeds the same.
@mixflip The guard has always consisted of front line soldiers. They have their own Infantry, Artillery, and even the elite Special Forces/Green Berets. They do have a stateside mission to enforce but they have a federal mission as well. The reason for this is that National Guardsmen go through the exact same training alongside Active Duty Army Recruits as well as Army Reserve. So if they need more soldiers in the sand pit they start mobilizing guardsmen since they can function in the same jobs

I can't find any info on him going over to the sandbox and he got out in 2006, before this video was made (which is why he's not afraid of backlash from it, has long hair, and no cover). He has no CIB or CAB on his uniform and was only an E4 though.

I'm going to enlist as a 68W(healthcare specialist or combat medic). right now im taking class to get my EMT(the civilian equivalent to a 68W) certificate. I've read first hand accounts of ARNG(army national guard) in Iraq, read the party lines, and I know there is a lot of B.S. but I just want medical skill and want to help people. fuck there politics I want their benefits for serving, and I want to have combat skills to protect ppl

I think its ridiculous that the National Guard has changed into front line soldiers. I believe that the regular Army and Army reserve should fight over seas while the National Guard should be responsible for serving and protecting the individual states at the command of the Governor for state emergencies. The Guard should do exactly that...Guard its home states.

@mixflip The guard has always consisted of front line soldiers. They have their own Infantry, Artillery, and even the elite Special Forces/Green Berets. They do have a stateside mission to enforce but they have a federal mission as well. The reason for this is that National Guardsmen go through the exact same training alongside Active Duty Army Recruits as well as Army Reserve. So if they need more soldiers in the sand pit they start mobilizing guardsmen since they can function in the same jobs

@cmich4life Well, you make some good points about wear of the uniform and you can identify a lot of fake soldiers this way, but I looked this guy up and he was a National Guard soldier who was called up to work around Ground Zero after the attacks. I can't find any info on him going over to the sandbox and he got out in 2006, before this video was made (which is why he's not afraid of backlash from it, has long hair, and no cover). He has no CIB or CAB on his uniform and was only an E4 though.
