  • When a band creates such brilliant music for so many years, the greatness is bound to wear out. This song is a textbook example of that. After Distant early warning this band should have called it quits.

  • lol does alex lifeson have a beard?

  • I wish I could get them to play these songs on their next tour: Between Sun & Moon, Cut to the Chase, Jacob's Ladder, Broon's Bane/The Trees/Xanadu, The Analog Kid, and Alien Shore.

  • @07hottie0...When I saw them in Saratoga on the Time Machine tour his voice was great. Caravan brought the house down and The Camera Eye was flawless to say the least. Better than the album cut if you ask me. Geddy can still put it out there...have faith.

  • This was nice. I haven't seen them live since....when I was really just a teeny bopper I think. I tried to see them again when I was about 40 but it didn't work out.

  • I really want to see "Between Sun & Moon" on the f**king concert they recorded (filmed as well) on their "Time Machine" tour.

  • I fuckin love rush, but it's really too bad geddys voice went to shit right after this :(

  • @07hottie0 His voice isn't shit. His voice is still pretty good on "Snakes & Arrows." They just didn't record the best performance, trust me.

  • @LightningCat315 i saw them for the time machine tour in Toronto. He couldn't even sing BU2B or Caravan correctly. Hes put too much on his voice over the years and it cant take it anymore

  • @07hottie0 Hmm, bad performance then. I've seen some performances, he can still sing some stuff pretty well. But "Clockwork Angels" may be their last CD, or a CD after it perhaps but...Yes its true, I've seen their good performances, he can sing still.

  • @LightningCat315 do you have any proof?

  • @07hottie0 If I could find the video again yes...If I find it I'll give you a heads up. (It wasn't a video on a popular channel so thats why it could take a bit to find it again.)

  • Its great that so many people are such giant fans that they argue about which Rush songs are the best and which ones are their personal favorites. I'm getting a bit more back into them lately. I always loved them...I'm not that clear on what happened; I checked out more other bands but always kept in my heart and in the back of my mind...but I did that way longer than I had realized and it turned out that...I still love their works but I didn't discover their 1993 album until 2003..LOL

  • @MiriamSPia Yes, I've been playing catch up too. kicking myself for not having been paying closer attention to their music over the years. now I'm convinced there's no better band anywhere.

  • aww. come on...has anybody heard Working Man? Xanadu? Closer to the Heart? hey...try one from the first album.(Here Again)...this is good but they have done a lot better

  • One of my favorite Rush songs ever. So underrated.

Actually, Roll the Bones, Counterparts, and Test for Echo are three of my favorite Rush albums. I don't know why so many 'fans' claim to dislike such wide swaths of this amazing band's discography.

    Rush forever!

  • counterparts was my first rush album.

i think its still my favorite one

  • in 2010 this song still rocks... put it in the Time Machine ~

  • @ePhilosopher9 Sadly it isn't in the Time Machine...maybe on the Clockwork Angels tour? :D

  • selatik1

    is a retard .

  • This band have forgotten gems in their back catalogue that would be heavy-airplay classics if someone else had recorded them. Fantastic. Next time they tour I'll move heaven and earth (and sun and moon) to catch them.

  • In the beginning I thought he said "hitler" not "getting there."

  • haha! yeah i know man!!!

  • Rest In Peace to

the greatest bass guitarist of all time

    John Entwistle..

  • @rockandroll4life1 umm...How 'bout....NO...

  • @selatik1 Fuck you CUNT.

  • @rockandroll4life1 Zip it, Scott. zipitdotcom!

  • yep you are a creep..

  • I was so lucky to this tour in Selma (San Antonio), TX and it was AMAZING!!! It was my first Rush show and I saw them play this song and it was awesome. I never forgot it!

  • GAH! I live in texas! I wish I had known about rush sooner so I could have gone :(

  • What an underrated song! It's really beautiful i think!

  • One of their best... along with Available Light and Middletown Dreams... sooooo underrated [sighs]

  • been there um pine knob twas a full moon with movenments on the lawn

  • Great song, from an amazing band.

  • the last tour with zildjian a's

  • This was from the Vapor Trail tour, he has Sabians back there...

  • Ok get your fucking facts straight next time before you speak. His Sabian Paragons were created and released in 2004, so I say again....this was the last tour with his Zildjians. Just watch the fuckin rush in rio dvd you douchebag.

  • god this is one of those amazing rush songs noone listens to like we hold on on snakes n arrows. amazing songs but get no cred, i love em!!!! had this song in my head for the last week!!

  • i know, some of the best songs never get REALLY as popular like tom sawyer did then only those songs are played on the radio and it so annoying!

  • What exactly is the meaning of this song? I hear it and think of the sun rising on a country that has waited more than a decade to feel its light and heat.

  • i think you should see the original poem by Pye Dubois, but it's not easy to grasp anyway.

  • awesome

  • So glad they brought this song out finally. Next up "Cut To The Chase" and "Everyday Glory"!

  • This is one of their best '90s songs IMO...It's not too long, it's got a good melody, it's heavy without being too dense like most of Test For Echo

  • Exactly. Both epic songs that never made the "cut". (Pun unintended) :-)

  • the 90s was such a weird era for geddy, i mean how he dressed and looked....very strange.

  • counterparts is very good ... almost every sons are wonderfull ....

  • I wish they would play more songs from Counterparts. When I saw them on July 4 on the S&A Tour, they didn't do anything from Counterparts.

  • I LOVE this song !!!

    Give 'er !!!!

  • Great video/song from my favorite band, But I HATE those stupid dryers! C'mon Geddy Use Bass Amps again. You're bass needs to be louder!

  • This was dedicated the John Entwistle, right?

  • it was the first night of the tour, which was the day after he died

  • Friggen AWSOME !!

  • Fun to try with the right harmonica and a good buzz for 10 or 12 hours.

  • how do you hold on?

  • When I saw them bust this out at Starplex in Dallas on this tour, I almost shit my pants. "Counterparts" has some big time gems on it. This band has SO many absolute masterpieces, it's mindblowing. See you front row in Dallas April 25th!!!! :)

  • this is vapor trails era because of the dryers behind geddy. after that he had the rotating food dispenser with one dryer and now the chicken rotisserie. pretty funny eh?

  • where was this filmed?

  • Why the Son, why the Son?

Because there's no remission of sin without the shedding of blood.

    Behold the Lamb of God.

  • It's "why the SUN", not "why the son?", asking why people pray to the sun, because it was something they couldn't understand, which goes for whatever you pray to for whatever reason, the same as any religion. Take your religious bullshit somewhere else.

  • Before I really read the lyrics I always thought he was talking about sex in the chorus.

  • the knight is black in the silence without an Umbra in the rommiM | Mylake

  • Their fans are legion!

    LONG LIVE RUSH!!!!

  • this is one of their best songs

  • weoo rush!

  • Eventhough the mix isn't 100 percent, the playing is excellent. I love it, and wish mor fans wouldo go for it.

Gopher? you say, no, not gopher, go for it!, AS IN, I love it.

I DO, AND that's for always, I mean it. ?this is as good as it gets in a live show. Why?

    BECAUSE THE FE0WE323R23 I N T O N A T I O N IS _ALL_ THERE, DAMMITK THAT'S WHY.

  • where was this at.

  • I'm so glad they rediscovered this song.. they should play more songs from Counteparts on tour. it was such a BOLD album. also, wanted to point out they all looked really healthy on this tour.

  • this is a fine orange Umbra

  • what the hell are you talking about. i never understand your comments

  • the Umbra tonight

  • earth, dummies and bobbleheads, that darn cat reference, geeze.

  • goopta, moonie moonie face, pontchatrain quatrain

  • Damn, I love this song!

  • They hadent droped Vital Signs and Between the Sun and Moon by Indianapolis Indiana yet! Great show it was

  • He's using a Les Paul, dumass...

  • i see, whoo, i can see, alex's point. it's a far point, a cry, but hell, he made his money, comfortable living, why elsa? rrreeeewowr. he can move on and end his career happily. Why this song, Socrates/ because the fans are tripping, and we don't wanna disaster ffs.

  • for the life of me I've got no idea what this song is about. it's a Pye Dubois lyric right?

  • Yes, but it's a great song.

  • Me neither. They're all weirdos up there!

  • where is the "lake" between the sun & moon? is that a "getting high" referrence?

  • It's based on a poem by Pye DuBois, lyricist for Canadian band Max Webster. Now...HE may have been high when he wrote the poem! They played this in Cincinnati...it ruled, of course.

  • I think the lake is referred to as earth, so much slang nowadays changes the meaning of an awesome song :[

  • Hell yes!

  • between the last time we saw and hatchet

this is awesome trip why this song, socratic method?

    SHINING FACE TO FACE

  • i think the problem with rush's sound at the newer concerts is that alex always uses prs which is too heavy for some of their songs. tho he did use prs on this song i believe

  • The best live band I ever seen. Rush rules!!!

  • Sweet and rare.

  • whats a "shiva"

  • The goddess with six arms. It's on the screen behind the band.

  • An underrated tune. I remember this tour and thinking that the Shiva was so cool. I want it as my screen saver!! Thanks for posting.

  • Me too It was awesome I remember Geddy saying,"Now were gonna do a song from our counterparts album that we haven't done in the past tours, I don't know why? here's Between Sun and Moon"

    So good!!!

  • "Me too"-you remember the tour, or want the Shiva :p ?

God, give me a Shiva screen saver. He said the something similar when I saw them, about not having performed it live until then.
