i loved this show. the tuba part was pretty interesting last year. the only thing i didnt like was the second movement but it was still an awesome show cant wait to put the final touches on our show this year.
Loved Southaven's show. It was nice to see it at a higher vantage point and really watch all the visual stuff. Very well constructed and well performed.
I think it is because the on field mics for this recording are close to the front. After listening to most of these recordings you get a lot of front ensemble on most of them. Check out bolton's because all you hear is the pit bass drum.
The sound guys put the field mics on the wall, which should have been far enough back, but they were too close to the 50 yard line. That's why we get so much pit. We'll correct that next year.
not sure, I think that Mr. Sanders had the speakers aimed up too much to the box which would explain why our front ensemble sounds fine in the video recorded in the crowd but not so much with the video recorded on top of the box. Just a guess. It is mainly the oboe and one of the other instruments that is too loud in the pit. It is still awesome at the hit though!
