baseball is with a smaller ball and the pitches are overhand with only fast pitch

softball they use a larger ball with underhand throws with either fast or slow pitches

also i THINK softball fields are smaller at more professional levels

Oklahoma City, OK (May 8, 2007) -- The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) announced today that KFC has reached an agreement to become the title sponsor of the 3rd World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, July 12-16 at ASA's Hall of Fame Complex and an official sponsor of the ASA's grassroots softball programs.
