Anyway, this is a video troll just out to badmouth HIS bad purchase. That VR response is the same effing loser making up 2 YT accounts with just one video
Like they say about dogs, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. It always amazes me how someone will buy a budget item and expect it to work like top of the line stuff. Would you buy a Kia or Hyundai and expect it to be just as good as a comparable Mercedes or Audi?
I have a 24/7 in 45acp. It's got some problems but none that can't be dealt with. If you paid $1000. for it, you would have cause for concern. But I know you paid less than half that. People always leave out how LITTLE they paid.
This problem he has can be fixed easily if he would send it in for repair. The safety does not work this way, something is indeed broken on his pistol. And No, 24/7's are not horrible pistols, they are one of the most reliable model series Taurus has made. When it comes to various pistol manufacturers & models, it's all about opinions and personal experiences.
How is this any less safe than any Glock? Either way, you still have to pull the trigger a long ways to fire, requiring a rather deliberate effort. The only safety "flaw" demonstrated here is that you can override the MECHANICAL safety (the trigger block) by failing to utilize the ORGANIC safety (your brain). When handled CORRECTLY, this gun's safety functions as it should; no safety feature in the world can take the place of proper firearms handling.
well, if your stupid enough to pull the trigger while setting the safety, then you deserve to shoot yourself in the foot. I'm just saying... But, i tried this with my 24/7 .40 and i didn't work. i think there might be something wrong with your gun.
Closing the action without breaking it's fall will eventually damage this model of gun - I own one. Sure it looks "cool", but if you're at all concerned about the longevity and reliability of the gun, I would get out of that habit.
This model Taurus and it only does this when it is uncocked. For safety make sure no ammo is in the area and take the magazine out. Pull the the slide back and cock the firing mechanism. In this chambered ( without ammo for our test ) position or cocked position the safety does work. This so called flaw is not a flaw the safety works just fine.
ok seriously what kind of retard would engage the safety while pulling the trigger?? This is not a "FLAW" on the weapon, it's a "FLAW" on the operator.
I own (2) 9mm an .45....neither have ever given me any probs. Maybe if u read the manual u might know that if the trigger is applied any pressure b4 u put the safety on...the safety will NOT engage. just tryn 2 point that out 2 u.
I own one. solid pistol. doesn't compare to my sigs...but it is meant to either. go with the 9mm as a cheap award winning back up. glocks are ok too. for thosewho care: this pistol requires a larger hand. the trigger has a bit of a forward lift and the safety is really made for a mans hand. lmfao
I have the same pistol only in SS (Stainless Steel) and I will tell you IF you are to have your FINGER on the TRIGGER the safety will not work properly and will allow the WEAPON TO FIRE. The pistol is fine. If you read the MANUAL it states DO NOT ENGAGE SAFETY WHILE TRIGGER IS PULLED or something to that effect. READ before USING don't be an idiot!
Why in the world would you set the safety on with the trigger pulled? Better yet, how would you do it? The gun would fire and then what, you set the safety? Please.
I just bought the 4 in. barrel 9mm version (12-22-08) and the safety won't engage if you slightly pull the trigger. The trigger must be in the full forward position or after firing you continue to hold the trigger and then engage the saftey.
There is a defect with this model but you should only have to worry about it if you are not handling the gun properly. If you pull, without fully engaging, the trigger while putting the gun on safety & there is a live round in the chamber YES you can fire this gun while it is one safety. I own the 24/7 .45 model. However, you would really have to be an idiot to pull the trigger while placing the gun on safety. That violates good gun safety practices in the first place and should never be done.
basic point is, yes you can do this, natural anomole of this weapon, but it is impossible to do this, leaving a live round in the chamber, thereby negating all of the the bs you talked about it being dangerous. do you actaully think that taurus would not have caught this. and, i might add, if had as much gun experience as you say you do in your comments, you would have realized this too. one word.....ROOK. wait..two words...DUMB ROOK.
wow, i am scared to know that someone with your obvious lack of frontal lobe capacity is allowed to own a firearm. first, this is the intended design of a da weapon. second it is impossible for this to create a hazardous condition. BECAUSE, i dont have crayons, so pay attention, after doing this, the slide is locked, and you would have discharged the live round in the chamber by doing the stupid shit you displyed in this video. no safety issue exists. nice try, wipe drool from chin now.
24/7 a horrible pistol? I disagree, I have 10 handguns, Rugers, Berettas, S & W, Glocks, Walther, Bersa, and 2 Taurus a PT 100 stainless .40 cal and I love it, and a stainless 24/7 pro c 9mm, I carry that gun the most, because of it's size and reliability, I was so impressed with the gun that I bought one for my 24 year old son, I'm thinking of buying the 24/7 fullsize .45, It looks like you're abusing your pistol for reasons I don't understand, don't trash a brand after you abuse it..
just bought my 24/7 PRO 45 today...have been READING THE MANUAL. (PAGE 19) as you should have done.WHEN AND WHY wOuld you ever TRY to activate the safety with the trigger pulled ? And this weapon also has an additional Safety that actually locks the action with a key.Your an idiot and should not own a gun...That goes for you too gammaparticles...I would love to hear how your gun did the same.
I'm an idiot? Hmmm now. Funny, i guarantee i not only have more firearms experience than you, as an owner and competitor, but also as a professional. If you want to play "Who's more capable of owning firearms", you won't win.
Nothing i did was unsafe, as the clearing in the beginning of the video demonstrates. I was pointing out ONE flaw in a flawed system.
You're just jealous because that taurus shoots better than your other guns and you paid less for it. My taurus 45 works fine,no problems. And who in the hell goes around turns on a safety while pulling the trigger? Pretty fucking stupid if you ask me. There is nothing wrong with the taurus 24/7 pistols, just you.
it's stupid to test a loaded gun's safety by pulling the trigger. once loaded and put on-safe, NEVER put your trigger finger on the trigger unless you're ready to fire or shoot. anybody agree?
Just found out mine did the same thing today, went looking here to see if anyone else had this problem. I will say however that taurus has made some of my favorite handguns, but the safety needs to be fixed for sure.
I have also had problems with the clips. My 15 round mag will not stay engaged when shooting this is why I have gone to glock. I just use the Taurus for home protection not to carry
In the gun manual it states that the trigger must be in the foward position for the saftey to function, But yep taurus really did a great job on the 24/7 pro
It will only dry fire once if you engage the safty while trigger is held back. Its not a flaw. If you engage it while its in the forward position like your supposed to then it works like it should. Why would anyone want to or try to engage the safty while trigger is being pulled back? Always read the manual before you use any gun. If you can still shoot it with safty on the right way then thats a flaw, but the real safty is your common sense and finger. If you dont have any then dont own a gun.

Learn more about your firearms than what is taken for face-value.
When the safety is engaged, even if the firing pin engages - there is a block that will completely block it from hitting the primer of the bullet.
Taurus makes a fine handgun; it's not the standard issue for the Brazilian Police for nothing.

I own this gun and Im here to let you guys understand why this happens.
It is not (NOT) a flaw in the saftey,
all taurus 24/7's have a 2 stage trigger, it was designed to be like that, incase the primer fails to ignite.
If you shoot the gun and nothing happens on other guns you have to rack the gun and shoot another shell, Not with this 24/7 2 stage
pull the trigger nothing happens then the gun goes to stage to and you can fire again with out racking in another shell. Problem solved.
