Should women usurp the authority of men, let alone teach. This verse has always bothered me. It has nothing to do with sexism and everything to do with Gods Word! I believe it applies today as it did then!
1 Timothy 2:
[12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
[13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
[14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
This must be a Joke ! Your point is totally too wide in it's context as to when a women can speak. The Bible says Only in the 1 Hour service of the Church does she of only 1 hour a week does she have to not speak. After this 1 Hour of listening , the rest of the Week , GIVE THEM HELL BABY!
Now as you taking this up with man here , Don't bother us about it , Take it up with Jesus and Paul of the bible and Get your responce and leave us men out of it. We men did not write that view !
I get the satire thing. I have to admit that it is sad to me about how people can view the Bible in this way since this is not the context the verse is meant to be. Also men have responsibilities given to them like they have to love there wives enough to die for them. I understand your point in what you did here, but dude the picture really creeps me out man. I like how you said it could be used for first wedding song dance. Made me laugh a little. -jessica
I have nothing to do with the picture; it creeped me out too. I guess I could use a DV camcorder; it might be funnier and give a more "this is a satire" impression.
I completely agree with you that the contents of this disrespectful. It was intentional. I wrote this song for a course about women in biblical perspective and used this song to open my final presentation on my exegesis of Ephesians 5. The song merely functioned as a glimpse of how the text (with the help of other scriptures) can be interpreted if not given the appropriate cultural/social context that it was written in.
LMAO hit the nail right on the head with this video. XD excellent

Why do women want to be men?
24preacherboy 1 year ago
@24preacherboy
I don't know too many women who want to be men.
but I do know many women who exercise their right to be educated, have a career and a family and liberties the same as a man does.
That btw, is not wanting to BE a man, but only having the same rights as a man.
If you would like to stay home, cook, clean and raise children and your wife goes to work for income, then do so.
If not, then what are you talking about?

Yeah, it's important to not take the misogyny out of context. LOL

Silent in the church, read the whole verse!
sixthheretic 3 years ago
Exactly!
Plus, the word used in Greek (the language in which the New Testament was written) meant LOOSE silence. Not absolute silence.

I don't see why this is offensive. The bible really does say these things.

As a Christian Woman, I really think this is
not how Christ loves the Church. Shame on whoever made this - very disrespectful!
