So many artists who came after Bowie WERE. Cobain was amazing, yes. But David Bowie is a king. Cobain was a prince. If he hadn't left us at such a young age, he could've become a king as well.

Seriously though...Cobain was very influential, yes, but Bowie was arguably even more so (and, of course, an influence on Cobain). If nothing else, his career has been a good deal longer and has encompassed varying styles.

Interestingly enough, Ewan McGregor's character in the movie is named Curt (though he's loosely based on Iggy Pop). Like it says in the description, the film is Velvet Goldmine. It's a great movie about glam rock (and of course, hot guy-on-guy action).
