this film was directed by beth sanford the women who played the rich lady
I think it is great due to the fact there where very few directors who where women at this time Dorothy Arzner was one others where Ida Lupino Maya Deren,Joyce Wieland, Shirley Clarke) and she turned out a very good low budget classic
Brought back memories of the film projector days. I, too saw this each year in elementary school - the teachers at Huntley El. On Appleton WI would show it if students were good all year long!
Hey . . . ! The best parts were edited out of this film! The shop owner went into the back room, leaving his bitchy wife alone. The machine exploded, showering her with scalding hot (and disfiguring) grease.
The other part of the ending showed the little pick-pocket girl hiding in a dark corner inside the Rolls Royce with a knife she stole from the back of the cafe. She sprung out, without the chauffeur noticing, and stabbed the rich lady to death for the bracelet. I hate censorship.
Those donuts look like humongous Cheerios. XD

Pulling the plug wouldn't help. I think it was magic. Maybe they could smash the machine to turn it off lol.

Cool seeing this movie again after so many years. Although now I kind of wonder why they didn't just pull the power plug to the machine!
