That's a sweet device. Are you using a pair of Ahead drum sticks in this video? Which ones are they? I myself own the Joey Jordison and Lars Ulrich sticks, but I use the Jordison ones with my ION Drum Rocker kit because they're quieter. Either way though, I love how they feel, and how they don't vibrate nearly as much as wooden sticks. I just wish they would put some Slipknot songs on Rock Band.
The sticks I am using are Vic Firth Dave Weckyl Signature edition. I love these sticks and have been using them for years. It is a modified 7A stick. It is longer and has a 5B shaft but is light. Try a pair. I also bought his new Evolution but they are no as strong as these as I broke those in 2 days. This is my second pair of these. The ones I am using I just bought but it is my second pair in over 10 years!
sweet lord that is a long time to know your drumset. So can you do some really cool triplets and double bassing and paradidles and such. I myself have played drums for more or less 7 years. My dad was a drummer and my grandfathers were drummers so I guess it kinda runs in the family. Yeah but anyway, give some advise because my new years revolution is to finally step up my drumming to another step. Ive taken some jazz classes and I can see the difference in that compared to metal. Any tips bro.
Practice. Learn rudiments. All the basics of drumming is in the rudiments:) Do a search here on YouTube for drum rudiments. The first guy that pops up is who you want. He does all of them and a great job at it. Taking jazz is a good choice as well, as it is very technical drumming. You will learn a ton of good techniques there.
