I love your throwing techniques. This method is not available on Shawns page any more and your head is in the camera view during all the critical throwing part. The places where you are pointing to to define what you did are unclear from this angle so .......would you cnsider re-doing this clip??
my jaw dropped open at the end. i usually close off my pieces entirely and make a lid like that but my teacher caught me after a while so i HAVE to learn to do a seperate lid and jar :/
This lid isn't wrong but you should know how to do all lids. this is a quick one. Other pots might need different lids. If you know how to and can make them well you can have the right lid for every pot that needs one.
Cool stuff, Tim. What comes next? Do you simply let the whole thing sit together like that until it's bone dry? It seems to me that I would want to take mine apart when it's leather hard to clean things up a bit.
Very cool - looks really delicate there on top. I can see mine caving in. Can you throw make a knob from that part you pinched off? Notice I said 'can you' because I probably could not!

Cut it leather hard, because there is still trimming/finishing to do, as you said, for both the jar and its lid.
Lovely shape, very graceful. Not my style! hahaha I can dream, though.

when it becomes leather hard the lid is cut off and both lid and pot are trimmed so they fit well together.

Yeah I think you could leave more clay to make a know you wanted one. They are nice and easy to pick them up without one.
