To me, it's the instrumentation of this song that raises "surprise" - sensing what you'd expect from Metric from Stars. Generally speaking and based on what my perception of both, Stars seem to be more focused on organic, acoustic sounds in their music, and their electronic tunes mostly have slow, dark rhythms. While Metric appears to use electronic elements in a rhythm faster and louder rhythm than Stars, with more of dancing beat from "triphop" aspects, in their music.

WEIRD... so original), m0readventurous didn't seem to be attacking them in any sense. Just commenting on the fact that she sounds like Emily Haines, so no need to be on the defensive. I thought it was Metric when I first heard it. It's not a bad thing. As long as it sounds good, I'm happy. JUST ENJOY IT.

@jbaynt lol, i saw both Metric and Stars live at Osheaga 2010.I enjoyed Stars more than metric so i decided to show some appreciation. Metric has 2 years on STARS but their debut albums were both released in 2003 so the sound that u so blatantly called unoriginal belongs to neither band because it was designed when women first learned to sing, well,that's not entirely true now is it? But that is what you seem to think...(Oh and i knew both bands' histories before i posted the other post)IDOENJOY

@ahmadsahmoud I've been following both bands for a while and I support both as well. You've taken my comments the wrong way. I wasn't saying they were unoriginal in any sense. But this song in particular sounds a lot like Metric. I was simply suggesting that there's nothing particularly UNIQUE that would make the two sounding similar as copying one another. It's their voices! It's also worth mentioning that, as far as I'm concerned, this is the only song on the album that sounds like this.
