It's a single speed bevel box with an isolator for neutral, but the auto bit comes from it being connected via a torque converter: you ride it on the torque converter up to about 30mph or so, then it's direct drive: that's why it's so smooth.
I don't see any sense in running the fan constantly, it should cool with no fan at all at highway speeds at least. I run my 350 old Chevy truck with an electric designed to work like a normal fan, it comes on when it get's warm enough to warrant it. It never comes on at speed and very rarely in town. Real nice sounding engine and a nice lookin ride. I'd have to know what the trans is though, it wouldn't suprise me if it was just a torque converter and a single speed.
Love that Chevy V8 noise, especially when you give it a handful - it's addictive.
Will you ask Jimbo why he has no pillion seat? Where does he put all the babes (LOL)? (Naw, don't answer that).
Love the auto. Ireland's first V8 Chop runs a dry clutch with a left handlebar lever, a left foot assistance lever, and a servo. Bit of a handful in town, 'cos the clutch isn't fully home until about 30mph, so red lights call for a bit of the ole tap dancing!
Hi Scotty. Final drive is via "V8 Choppers" own auto box driving a chain. We think the auto is a 3 speeder but its so smooth you can't tell. 0 to 60 mph takes about 2 seconds and top speed is 155 mph.
