Although Gary is great a Sirius Black, i almost wish that he had played Snape just so we could have seen more of his talent in the Harry Potter series.
"Seven rehtoric, two repetitions, leaving nineteen of which we answered fifty. And what do we get in return??? He's DEPRESSED!"
Much love for David Thewlis, but I think Tim Roth would've been better for the part of Lupin in the HP movies. It would've been good to see these two together again! ^-^
Funny that you mention that, you know he was first choice to play Snape? But he turned it down coz of filming comitments. Never thought bout Lupin before but now you say that I can so see it working lol
I would LOVE to see these two together again! They're brilliant. I'm waiting for the day Gary Oldman does a guest appearance in Lie to Me just for the lulz.
This is one of the best things I've ever seen. The play is hilarious, the way it's been made into a movie is impressive, and the actors just blow me away. Five stars.
I like this movie very much, but for the first time i see it in original - in english and i've just discovered, that this is not Gary's voice! Who speeks instead of him and why? Can anybody tell me??
It is Gary Oldman. He's the master of different accents, and he is a Brit. This is his natural voice, how he talks in real life. You may have seen him in other films where he pulls off a flawless American accent, but this is his real voice.
Wow, I'm going to give me very rusty French a try (apologies in advance!!!): Ils parlent premierement de leur conversation fameuse avec Hamlet, et comment Hamlet a gagne le jeu d'avasion "Question and Answer."
I'm so proud that I know what they're talking about! Just read the part they're referring to in Hamlet! I even convinced my teacher to show this movie after we finish Hamlet! yayyyyyy love Garyyyy!

Well it's ironic that you mention that, because Tim Roth actually audition for Snape. but he couldnt take the role due to a another flim.

Great scene. For those who want Gary to be on LTM. That would be great. It will probably happen the same day Stephen Fry appears on House

IF it is, and the sun is over THERE for instance, THAT would be northerly. On the other hand, if it's not morning and the sun is over THERE, THAT...
... would still be northerly.
Love the play, love the film, LOVE these two actors.

My aunt owns this film and actually refused to show it to me until I understood Hamlet. And I'm glad she did, because it made it so much funnier!
