i'm from new Mexico and was raised on sopapillas only for the most part we use them like bread during a meal org fill them with beans, meat, and cheese, yummy. occasionally we eat then with honey but rarely with sugar and cinnamon
@Pug40 The way you described them is how my grandmother use to make them, but the way we make them here is the way they are in Texas. Either way, super yum!

This is how I make sopapillas, except i put the cinnamon sugar and a few sopapillas in a brown paper lunch bag and shake.
