Someone Please help me i have gtr evolution and a logitech g27 but when i start a race in gtr evo and i steer to left or right my steer starts pulling to the side where i steer to please help me if you know how i can fix this or give me your settings from the logitech profiler.

One of the drawbacks with their engine... no shadows from trees. This means the Green Hell doesn't have that shadowy congested view-obscuring thing going on in certain sections that it does IRL.
Don't see why Simbin can't just update their engine with a new generation aimed at DX10 and 11.
Only problem with the graphics other than shadows is the draw distance is lacking. Other than that it looks fine, imho.
Well considering the amount of money/effort some people put into building rigs with Frex kit etc. and the supposed graphical power that's available to PC's they fuckin well should be!

No way, man. This video doesn't do the game justice. There are tons of settings; the graphics are really good once they're setup correctly. (but I thought the same when I first played the game -- it looked like crap) -- Defaults are for people who care more about performance. Even when u set it to it's highest settings outside of the game, there is more u have to tweak inside of the game under Options>Visuals. This game is amazing!!
The reason for the bad graphics is that 1: There is so much data and things going on with the cars and tracks there isnt as much room. 2. It allows people with lower end pc's to play this aswell.
Thing is Simbin are still using the ancient ISI engine which is well over 8/9 years old now. Sure its had tweaks through the years but its essentially the same - so there's only so much that can be strained from it.
Should Simbin start using another engine? yes probably, but they've built their entire team around the cogs of that ISI engine - moving to another would probably be the end of them...

is it possible to change the install drive with the Atari distribution in Vista x64? There's no option to, that's why I ask, I need to because my main drive was never intended to install large files to. Please help. I need to install it to my other, significantly larger drive.
Yeah it's so funny cause you can download almost any simbin game has a mod in Rfactor, in your Rfactor you can have GTR2, RACE 07, F1 legends, GT legends, Rally trophy and GTRevo...and more in one game...

iRacing is brilliant. But it's just purely american cars. So if that's not your cup of tea then stick with rFactor or gtr evo.
I never liked the tire physics of the games based on isi's engines though. You can't really drift. as soon as you go above a certain angle of slide, you just fly out of control. And the angle of slide doesn't even need to be all that high. And that sucks when you want to drive cars like the caterham, a car that loves to slide.
Now I got my Logitech G25 wheel, and I buy that game TODAY. I know its a bit late, but I dont want to play with my Keyboard. It really sucks^^. Thank you for that great vid man!! Its really cool.
Obviously you haven't driven on a real racetrack in real life. You can't just go full speed on the first lap at a track you've never driven on! You think that all the top drivers in the world start out at full speed on a strange track? This not only applies to real life but to sims. As for the graphics being bad, you definitely have a bad graphics card or have the detail level low.
It annoys me that you HAVE to learn the tracks, partly because there's no map, partly because the graphics are so bad you can't see when the corners are coming, meaning by the time you see the corner, it's too late to brake... :(
you don't play many other games i have 4850x2 in cfX i play hardcore games, i get <90fps at max graphics with this, prob about 180fps, i don't need a new gpu setup you can't say this has better graphics than the arcade racer, GRID......... don't lecture me, your eyes are obviously smashed up, note that i play alot of GTR, (the trees look like paper, its a sim racer the graphics are meant to suck LOL

Hi Footy - I Run on a HP DV 9000 . It has a dual core 2.2 intel centrino with nvidia 8600 GTS and 2 gigs of ram.. Yes the F430 wheel would make a great wheel for this racing sim.
Having played this game and driven the Nordschleife in person, they did a very good job. There are some unique bumps on certain sections of the track that Simbin included and others they left out. The outside bump in the track surface change on the right hander after the jump at Pflanzgarten was left out, but it's very technical and SHOULD have been included. Overall, best Nordschleife sim I have ever driven when compared to the real course.
kinda... weird... this game is night and day better when I play it with steam connected to the internet??? Goes from a slow laggy pos... to smooth as butter... Any ideas?
What FPS problems? Seriously? I'm running the game on a 2 year old PC with no problems (ok, after the initial load there's a few stutters, but only for 5 or so seconds, barely get out of the pit in that time) 2ghz amd dual core, 7600gt, 1gb ram, haven't even got it running right after last reformat.
The thing I love most about GTR Evo has to be the STONE CHIPS IN THE WINDSCREEN, I've only ever seen it in one other game before (can't remember which) It's the little things that count.
Go to Magny Cours and exit the last turn... Add some AI and make sure your graphics are on full.. No frame hiccup, then you have your system dialed in.. I ran it on a 5 + year old single core system and a dual core and that track is a frame hog..
The amount of cars in these types of games really is overrated. All GT type cars (and better) are the same. Only the exteriors change, because these cars compete with eachother. They must have almost the same specs to actually be competitive.
I'd be much happier driving real life cars. I want a crappy handling Corvette and an awesome little Lotus etc.
If I want supreme racers, I only need an F1 car. Thats what you use to go around the track as fast as possible. Everything else is for fun.
If you just look at the specs of these cars on the game, none of them match...
The Corvette has more power than the Aston Martin.
They stay so close because of weight differences.
The Aston has less power but is lighter than the Corvette.
And so on.
F1 has some sweet cars, but all of them are basically spec. Ferrari, McLaren, and BMW are leading because they have the most money and the most reliability.
I'm not driving these types of sim. They have to be almost the same or they could not compete at all... Its the same in every type of racing, but usually these GT's are lamer, because F1 cars are there fo the ultimate speed, which these try to imitate. I'd prefer real Ferraris and Porsches etc to these carbon copies.
So you're telling me a 911 is the same to drive as a 360?
They don't have to be THE SAME, they have to have similar overall performance, for instance one car might have good acceleration with shitty handling whilst the other one might have a smaller engine but good handling. Compare an Elise to a 350Z.
If they are, and are in the same classes also, they have comparable performance. In real world counterparts there is no fair competition. Of course they, like F1 cars have small differences, but I'm simply talking about them being equally probable winners.
I must say around 5:40 the comment about frame rate being poor on his notebook made me laugh. Also no DX 7 or 8 support? Who in their right mind is going to try and play this on hardware that old. Many mistakes and information that was either false or not helpful in the slightest. Seemed to be just two guys reading off the features list of the games website with little true insight given.

We also like to test things on a variety of systems because not all sim racers can afford a rig that can play games maximized. Compared to other titles, Sim Bin has the lowest frame rates but probably the prettiest graphics.
Someone put a sock in Shaun Cole's mouth, STFU! Once again Simbin comes through, hopefully the framerate issue isn't that big of an issue as they made it out to be. Who knows what kind of crap laptop he has, would have been nice if he gave his specs.

Well, that's not so strange. Most real life versions of the race cars featured in Race 07 have dog-clutch straight cut gearboxes, which can be (up)shifted without using the clutch.
upshifting is normal, and downshifting depends on the car. Usually the clutch is only used when coming out of the pits or standing start to get the car rolling..
More of same: Race07 = Race = GTR2 = GTR1 = GTR Evolution = GTLegends. All of them are good, but are exactly the same game based in Gmotor2. It would be more honest to release only game updates instead of "newers" fake games.

First off... DO NOT UPGRADE TO VISTA !!! I personally hate it for gaming.. The ISI games are spread all over your hard drive by Vista. Also in Vista some games don't ruin properly unless you're running the program as an "admin".. To answer your question.. Yes.. it does run on both. Also what are your laptop specs ? I've run it on a laptop. I have a dual core 2.2 ghz with an 8600 GTS video card and 2 gigs of ram and it runs good. Make sure your system has a gaming video card

Probably a licensing issue, you don't get to use those cars without having the rights to them, and the rights cost money.

What FPS problems? Seriously? I'm running the game on a 2 year old PC with no problems (ok, after the initial load there's a few stutters, but only for 5 or so seconds, barely get out of the pit in that time) 2ghz amd dual core, 7600gt, 1gb ram, haven't even got it running right after last reformat.
The thing I love most about GTR Evo has to be the STONE CHIPS IN THE WINDSCREEN, I've only ever seen it in one other game before (can't remember which) It's the little things that count.

Go to Magny Cours and exit the last turn... Add some AI and make sure your graphics are on full.. No frame hiccup, then you have your system dialed in.. I ran it on a 5 + year old single core system and a dual core and that track is a frame hog..

The amount of cars in these types of games really is overrated. All GT type cars (and better) are the same. Only the exteriors change, because these cars compete with eachother. They must have almost the same specs to actually be competitive.
I'd be much happier driving real life cars. I want a crappy handling Corvette and an awesome little Lotus etc.
If I want supreme racers, I only need an F1 car. Thats what you use to go around the track as fast as possible. Everything else is for fun.

Not all GT type cars are the same!
If you just look at the specs of these cars on the game, none of them match...
The Corvette has more power than the Aston Martin.
They stay so close because of weight differences.
The Aston has less power but is lighter than the Corvette.
And so on.
F1 has some sweet cars, but all of them are basically spec. Ferrari, McLaren, and BMW are leading because they have the most money and the most reliability.
That's about it.

Like I said, they are the same. And of course, they would have to be. You cant have ultra lightweight car with all the downforce and horsepower.
F1's are the ultimate, but its much more about making the car last through the whole race. Anything more is just a waste of money.

I'm not driving these types of sim. They have to be almost the same or they could not compete at all... Its the same in every type of racing, but usually these GT's are lamer, because F1 cars are there fo the ultimate speed, which these try to imitate. I'd prefer real Ferraris and Porsches etc to these carbon copies.

They don't have to be THE SAME, they have to have similar overall performance, for instance one car might have good acceleration with shitty handling whilst the other one might have a smaller engine but good handling. Compare an Elise to a 350Z.

If they are, and are in the same classes also, they have comparable performance. In real world counterparts there is no fair competition. Of course they, like F1 cars have small differences, but I'm simply talking about them being equally probable winners.

I must say around 5:40 the comment about frame rate being poor on his notebook made me laugh. Also no DX 7 or 8 support? Who in their right mind is going to try and play this on hardware that old. Many mistakes and information that was either false or not helpful in the slightest. Seemed to be just two guys reading off the features list of the games website with little true insight given.

that's why it was considered a preview.. We only had the sim for a very short period of time when this aired. We also like to test things on a variety of systems because not all sim racers can afford a rig that can play games maximized. Compared to other titles, Sim Bin has the lowest frame rates but probably the prettiest graphics.

Well, that's not so strange. Most real life versions of the race cars featured in Race 07 have dog-clutch straight cut gearboxes, which can be (up)shifted without using the clutch.

upshifting is normal, and downshifting depends on the car. Usually the clutch is only used when coming out of the pits or standing start to get the car rolling..

More of same: Race07 = Race = GTR2 = GTR1 = GTR Evolution = GTLegends. All of them are good, but are exactly the same game based in Gmotor2. It would be more honest to release only game updates instead of "newers" fake games.

i personally dont favour the style of preview they gave us but saying things like "your too old to be a gamer" isnt a valid statement/comment.
im 19 and play CoD4 and BF2142 and some gamers are 35-40 which isnt wierd or creepy.
One day we'll be 40, most of us might not be playing games anymore but its and old fashioned view that games are for young people ONLY.
games will continue to become more complex and mature, its just a pastime. And a great one...

First off... DO NOT UPGRADE TO VISTA !!! I personally hate it for gaming.. The ISI games are spread all over your hard drive by Vista. Also in Vista some games don't ruin properly unless you're running the program as an "admin".. To answer your question.. Yes.. it does run on both. Also what are your laptop specs ? I've run it on a laptop. I have a dual core 2.2 ghz with an 8600 GTS video card and 2 gigs of ram and it runs good. Make sure your system has a gaming video card

how can u say it's choppy when you play on a laptop, and that comment about directx8 and, worst, 7, come on u gotta be stoned!? simbin's games always have fast fps cuz they focus on the race engine not the graphics, it looks alright but the environment is somewhat simple, empty and square-looking. anyhow, your age gives you no credibility at all when it comes to videogames, if at least you were ex professional drivers, but then you could afford a fast computer and you wouldnt sound like virgins.

Other reviews confirmed that there are FPS drops at Nordschleife, even with a 8800GT.

THe abuse is pure jealousy IMO. Because we get to preview games.. I love how lalarurentide or whatever that handle is said.. My age gives me no credibility as a gamer.. LOL !! Can't wait till he's 40..(says he's 28) But yea... We've been playing video games since before he was born.. I also love how people hide behind handles and are blog or forum tough guys.. I think we'll do an editorial on the show about it ;-)
