  • What The Heck Man, half the video is Credits ?

  • @mrthebillman

Credits to honor those, who helped to create legend.

btw... no one says you cannot do it better ;-)

  • Fun trivia note: The Enterprise motion shots were done by moving the CAMERA, and not the model. This is why the ship has a rather unique movement to it in certain scenes.

  • From which episode is the battle with the Klingon battlecruiser?

  • @vjeko1701

In fact I am not sure now. Unfortunately I don't have non-remastered version of TOS by myself and I have to look for apropriate cuts here on YouTube. That battle is compilation from different scenes. The photon-torpedos shots are definately from another episode.

  • @Niusereset Well, have the most of the TOS episodes involving Klingons and it's not: Errand of Mercy, The Trouble with Tribbles, A Private Little War, Elaan of Troyus or Day of the Dove. Which ones are left?

  • @vjeko1701 Ones with Romulans? ;-)

No, seriously, don't forget that the Romulans, using Klingon ships, fought the Enterprise. It is "The Enterprise Incident" from season 3 - I do not believe this is the episode it's from though...

  • @RobertMfromLI Nah, I found it. It seems that it actually was from Day of the Dove, I just forgot seeing it.

  • The original Enterprise is still the best, and also my favorite Starfleet ship of all time.

  • The original E is undoubtedly my favourite ship ever. And the original music just fits so well, even though it does sound slightly dated. It's a pity Abrams just told Ryan Church to "make it look like a hot rod" when he re-designed it. I mean, it's a starship, not a frakking hotrod. I hope the ghost of Matt Jefferies is haunting Ryan Churche's house.

  • Wow, the ORIGINAL Star Trek theme! A rare thing to hear.

  • What kind of a tribute to the Original it ould be without original music ;-)

  • Very true... just seems so few people even remember that theme.

    Nicely done!

  • Thanks.

    I love the constitution class.

The most beautiful ship of the StarFleet.

btw TOS is elder than me :-D :-D

But few years ago TOS was broadcasted in my country and I also have the entire TOS in a book-version.

  • It's just a little older than me... well, I did get to watch it in first run, but was born after the first episode and before the last... :-)

Have you checked out our episodes? You may like em. Google Star Trek New Voyages and check us out!

    -Rob

  • You are part of the team creating continuing TOS? =-O

    I am impressed and honoured . . . .

I saw few episodes but I do not remember where I got them :-D

And I consider them good :-)

  • Yeah... I just do my part :-)

Google Star Trek New Voyages and it'll be the first link.

Thanks for the compliments to the team!

    Rob

  • How can a ship be noble? ;-) Isn't it the crew who makes it noble?

  • Figuratively speaking ;-)

For me this is the most beautiful ship of the entire Star Trek.

But yes, english is foring language for me.

If you can suggest better word for what I wanted to express... go on.

  • Impressive, magnificent or splending? A subjective area imo ;-) Maybe "proud" would be accepted by the natives...

I'm not into the old shape of the Enterprise - actually, the only one I liked was the upgraded Enterprise E from "Nemesis". But well, it's a fine ship anyway ;-)

As for the language itself - English is sometimes abstrac for Slavics so us trying to agree on non-Slavic terms is somewhat weird ;P

  • Sovereign class is beautiful, that is true. But I REALLY like TOS.

(yes, it is elder than me :-D )

    Thanks for help ;-)

  • No problem buddy ;-)

  • Because the TOS E was written as a character, not as an inanimate object. This is very similar to how "Old Ironsides" had human characteristics attributed to her, or how people assign their cars or otherwise inanimate objects such characteristics.

Because the crew themselves treated her like a living thing (listen to some of Kirk's pontification about her).

And finally, because she personified/symbolized everything that was good (or could be) about humanity.

  • In English, gender attribution does not equal antropersonification. Yet it's a good point, though.

  • Not the point I was trying to make with that. If you watch "The Naked Time" (among various others) you will see what I mean regarding Kirk's statements about that ship.

Or if you read the script notes for ST:TMP, you will see similar as well (regarding Kirk being reunited with the Enterprise again).

Or if you read the Series Writing Bible (or the ST: Phase 2 unproduced series one), you'll note that Enterprise was indeed always intended as a character as opposed to just an inanimate object.

  • I don't like TOS, hence my knowledge on this part of ST Universe is limited. However, your logic seems to be sound. Let it be your way then =]

  • Picard was certainly speaking about his Enterprise in the similar way. Or about Stargazer.

As it was severaltimes mentioned durig TOS, that for starship captain (in general, not Kirk only) will be every woman on second place, because is maried with his ship.

    (metaforicaly meaning)
