  • You know, for all the sympathy Sal gets from viewers, I'm surprised nobody notices at 0:40 when Buggin Out seems to be letting the issue over the Wall of Fame go. He's eating his pizza when Sal says, "You lookin' for trouble?" For all Buggin Out's faults, he seemed genuinely offended. "Yeah, I'm a trouble-maker. I'm makin' trouble."

Then Sal GRABS A BASEBALL BAT and says, "Suppose I busted your head..." He basically threatened Buggin Out. And people call Sal the completely innocent character?

  • I always thought Roger Guenveur Smith was an underrated actor

  • "Mook stay black" As if the dude is gonna change colour! Funny shit.

  • i wasnt even born when this cam out.

  • I think Sal is wrong. He could've atleast put a couple of black entertainers on here. you know he is in the Bronyx. Pretty much the highest rate of blacks stay.

  • @visionimagify its his store, he doesnt have to do anything.

  • @visionimagify Um, maybe it would be a good idea for him business-wise and PR-wise. But he isn't really obligated to do that. That's what I think.

  • ''BUGGIN OUT'' IS HALF BLACK HALF ITALIAN IN REAL LIFE

  • @NittyNilt hee hee

  • BROOKLYN BABY!!

  • 7:40 looks sooooooo much fun!

    Cop: They're brothers?

    LOL

  • Did anyone notice that at 7:18 Martin is pushing Smiley into the water and then he magically appears at the fire hydrant at 7:23 ! lol.

  • I find this scence very ironic since Bugging out is part Italian. Why doesn't he just tell Sal that he's part Italian so he can get his photo on the wall and he'll shut up. Better still why doesn't B.O. open up his own resturant. Btw, what's an Ozu pep (spelling?) Doesn't anyone speak English in this country anymore?

  • i like how the mayor randomly stopped mookie to tell him to always do the right thing

  • OFFICER: DID YOU HAPPEN TO CATCH THEIR NAMES, SIR? DRIVER: MO AND JOE. HOW'S THAT? OFFICER: MO AND JOE WHAT? DRIVER: MO AND JO WHAT. MO AND JOE WHAT. MO AND JOE BLACK!!! HOW'S THAT? • I would be so pissed if someone did that to my car.

But seriously, he could have come back later or parked somewhere else or taken a different street.

  • JKA92.. u da man!!!!!!! good looks,, man this shit brings me back 2 the good old days on the stoopand every1 around, being friendly, funny, figuring out other peoples business, and just good times......fire hydrant, damn i used 2 do that with the cans 2, and every hood had its "deebo" hahahaha fuck these days of 2day.. mo n jo...what???????

  • "Aint nobody f----ing around man. Why don't you just go 'head." LOL Why'd u say his line like that...@ 8:02

  • at 1:50 you can here that guy who stutters trying to pronounce "pizza"

  • @InsanelyINsane Open up your ears and listen then you probably will be able to

  • Spike Lee did a great job with this film

  • Thanks for informing me. The same in Southern California but we do have trees and some taller buildings for shade, but in the concentrated neighborhoods it gets hot, not too many trees in the condensed areas of So*Cal.

  • @MusicFromRobE

Well they do got trees now in Bed stuy brooklyn, and the population is more spread out now

  • @MusicFromRobE The 100+ in Cali isn't the same as it is here, plus the humidity is deceptive, because it's as if we live in a bubble. Last summer was a lot like '88.

  • 2:57- 3:10

  • Were people really hot in 100 degree weather in NY in 1988? I mean 100 degrees is pretty hot, but its not 105, 110 or anything. That is like a typical California summer day(100 degrees)

  • @MusicFromRobE

100 degrees....no trees....car exhaust...in a city full of people on top of each other is no joke!

  • @fourcorneredroom live right around where they made this i Know it aint no damn Joke whoo.!

  • @MusicFromRobE It was hot that summer, man. And you gotta realize, a LOT of us didn't have AC.

  • car wash!

  • mmmmmookie!!!!!!

  • men fire hydrants are fun i remember on this on the block on hot days haaaaaaaaaaaa

  • -Comere' i gotta tell you something.

    -What.

    -Always do the right thing.

    -Thas it?

    -Thats it.

  • ''How come you aint got no brothas up on the wall'' LOL, it's his place that's why, does he come to your place and start putting frank sinatra on your wall bro?LOL

  • that part where they soaked the guy in the car was funny.

  • This neigborhood is like being in a third-world cespool. Those morons who turned on the fite hydrants don't realize how much danger they put themselves in when there isn't any water left to fight a fire.

  • @1dkidd Oh please, water always has pressure and everyone knows that. That's like saying if you keep your faucet dripping your water will run out! No it won't your bill will just be high as hell!

  • @1dkidd Get a grip dude. It's a heatwave.

  • Buggin out trippin' about there being Italian American's being up on the wall...in real he is an Italian American himself...Ironic!

  • @rshandy I know, lol, most people don't realize that Giancarlo Esposito is Italian in real life, he could pass as black, especially in the movie "Fresh" with Samuel L. Jackson.

  • @LiquidSolidRaiden His mother is African-American.

  • @rshandy really? is he mixed or something cause he looks black

  • @perdybirdie Yes he is....his mother is black, his father is Italian

  • "those that'll tell don't know."

  • its kind of dumb how that black guys walks into a italian place and expects anybody whos not italian on the wall i bet at every soul food place they have pics of jackie robinson and malcolm x not that i care there is definetly no jfk or president lincoln

  • Movie mess up: @ 2:47 the guy smiley trying to sell pictures is in thw window of the pizza joint somehow makes it to the building @ 3:19

  • I see Smiley staring in the window!

  • oh shit they pissed off phil leotardo hes gonna have them whacked

  • micheal JOR DAAAAAN! lmaoooo

  • I want em locked under the fuckin jail!!! lol

  • buggin out is a loud mouth troublemaker

  • you talk some brother talk to him lol

  • tht water funn luks funn

  • 0:36 good point

  • LOLLL Smiley got blasted

  • Maybe it's just me but I think Spike was trying to show how odd it was for that guy in the restaurant to ask for black people to be put up in Sal's restaurant wall. Even the boycotting request wasn't really embraced by the other customers. So I don't really get the feeling he was being bias towards anyone. Really it was just two people over reacting with one another.

  • @azmista Your comment is smart...overreacting, yes I think that's what happens on both side of the argument, both people reading more into what the other person said. Although, I'm not sure if I agree with you on what Spike was trying to say.

  • @QueenSoap Yeah it's impossible really to determine what Spike's intent was unless we ask him ourself. Just my take on it.

  • love dis movie. classic

  • This movie is surprisingly funny.

  • I wonder if I'm the only white guy watching this.

  • They shouldnt have gotten that guys car wet, but he was a douch so i guess maybe he deserved it a bit. XD

  • Yes, Sal should have some brothers up on the wall. And Mr Senor Love Daddy should play some white artists on his radio show, instead of just black . Just a thought.

  • @wrmty56413 ur rite

  • "We want some brotha's up on that wall! Ya know? Malcolm X! Nelson Mandella! Ya know? Michael JORDAAAAN!!"

    LOL

  • The closest thing to a hero in the film is actually Da Mayor because hes the only one who is consciously trying to defuse the situation and also saves Sal, Pino and Vito from getting lynched

  • LMAO @ Frank Vincent at 7:56 he might as well be playing Phil Leotardo of Sopranos fame!

  • wats the name of the sonng in the background from 2:48-2:56

  • damnn they cut some of the scenes in netflix .....

  • lmaooooooo radio raheem was a G

  • if it was a white director the scenes from 5.39 to 7.20 would of never showed........it was a magical scene......thanx spike u rule!

  • And 8:39

  • Open Marriage?!

  • yeah they both saw other people you know free love and all that jazz

  • BOYCOTT SAL'S!!!!!!!!

  • I got ya boycott swingin' lol

  • That guy with the convertible car sounds a lot like Salvatore from the Grand Theft Auto series (III, San Andreas and Liberty City Stories). It got to be Frank Vincent, because his voice was pretty familiar. Hilarious scene btw.

  • it is frank Vincent. he's also in the sopranos, casino, goodfellas and raging bull.

  • this is the sorta movie that should feature as a tourist ad for new york in the summer.

    lol @mo and jo black.

  • Smiley makes me cry

  • @zombiemonster

Makes me cry more when punkass Pino kicked Smiley out of their business property.

  • why do you think smiley is in the window holding them pictures of martin and malcolm? what does he symbolize?

  • @Daizy10231023 maybe, this is just a guess; when is violence okay? When is the perception of it considered self defense? Or perhaps, we have forgotten what the both of them said, hence the riot and Mooky screaming "HATE!"

  • 2.00 for a damn extra cheese, about the same as Little Ceasars.

  • Yes, but (SPOILER ALERT) the police shouldn't have killed Radio Raheem, which is how the riot really started.

  • @S13AR10AFan you just ruined it for me you asshole. comment in the right video

  • @2muchforem I said SPOILER ALERT.

  • @Venuscookie19 so that dosent give him the right to kill

  • has anyone noticed that the police man is stone Cold Steve Austin!!!!!!

  • Radio raheem would win in a fight against Dee-bo because craig beat up dee-bo in friday

  • Danny Aiello was perfect for this role.

  • Yeah, he should've gotten the Oscar. Though Denzel Washington was good too.

  • @ChipHugger Yes, his best performance by far.

  • man this is NY for you. gotta love it<3 dont get no realer then this.
