Excellent. Loved your emphasis on the contrasts. Agree fully with you that there is no "dance" in the middle and I would even take that idea further and say there is no right hand, just a left hand decrescendo.
Your video has been of great help, thanks. I've been studying this piece for 2 years and felt stuck in some spots, you have cleared it a lot to me. Thanks again, teacher- from NYC--
Wow. I 'm glad I stumbled upon these lessons also . The idea s about key depth always have inteested me especially when we talk about cantilena playing and such.
This is the best Master class I have ever witnessed for this piece. I have always believed in reading "more" into the sheet music than waht is actually written there. Thank you so very very much! It will improve my playing. Thank you!
I started learning piano very late in my life (at 45) I always wanted to do it but never was able. I know I am never going to achieve the necessary dextricity, but I am having a lot of fun.
I have been watching your vieos/lessons for a while. I believe you must be a very hapy man, couse only one person like that would be able to play as beautiful as you do and at the same time to have the mood and capacity to teach others.
Thank you for your lesson. I was with you until the repetition of the theme at the end where you added improvisation. To me, the improvisation here is to become even more silent and heartfelt in the exposition. I hope you post more lessons.
Hi! In that passage one must have a good articulation and scales technique, to obtain not only studying and playing pieces but also dedicated technique excercises. If you want to play with "half key" sound (as I try to do)
you must use almost only fingers articulation with wrists blocked (but not rigid), without relaxing completely arms and without to search the end of the keys....
If the critic (as in your case) is serene and honest, no problem. One head, one opinion, and my ideas are not more than my ideas.
Yes, I studied when I was a boy, and I took a regular degree in an italian conservatory.
Other works, and now I begun again to play, after 15-18 years of no-piano. Hobby....yes, as all the ones who play without living of their playing. I like this "amateur" dimension, it's not a problem for me. Again thank you much for attention and all the best for you.
im really impressed about your love to music.good technic, big repertoire.i watched about 10 videos and they were all good, but now i saw these 3 videos and im a little shocked.i think you show here exact the way this piece should NOT be played.i like muscians who play natural in a musically right way.your version is in every point complete exaggerated.
you know the speech:less is more!
i studied in munich piano and took part in a masterclass.he told me i have to play so everybody can hear
Thank you much for so kind and serene words. I think your opinion counts at least as mine, and what for someone is natural can be exaggerate for someone else. All the best for you.
Thank you for this lesson! I am going to play this piece on Sunday. I have my own interpretation of it, but I think you have a lot of good points that I will adopt into my own style of playing!
dont you play piano anymore?why there are no new vids?

You are very kind, thank you. The improvisation is clearly only an hypothesis, in the style of "aria con da capo" ever varied in belcanto tradition.

What comes? But man thanks to you.
And I think to continue: for me it'is funny and useful (it force me to clear my ideas), and I see someone else is interested, then...
I hope also to see many of these "lessons" from other musicians. I repeat, useful for the producer, and maybe for the spectator.
