Does action essentials work with iMovie?

@videoman8752 If you have the latest version, yeah maybe. I'd go to detonation films download some free effects, test it out first. Particularly video with an Alpha channel. Check my channel where I have tested out what can be done with iMovie. From the sound side of things, GarageBand either in Podcast in the earlier version or movie mode can let you edit in the great sound effects and music. I have all these and would rate them 11 out of 10. The prob with iMovie is animation is limited.

@videoman8752 Any editor that can handle alpha channels, blends layers and is non-linear (does multiple layers)... then you are good to go. You'd get more benefits if you can animate layers, mask and animate the mask. I can't recommend free or low priced software as my experience with this kind of stuff is with Premiere Pro & older vers. of FinalCut Express/Pro. Students get academic pricing on After Effects & Premiere Pro. Compositing software such as After Effects is better for VFX.

@TyranusForte The point is that we aren't all musicians and/or have access to dynamite etc or other props that would be way over our budget. However with some creativity you can take some raw content and give it a fresh twist. Sometimes we achieve greatness by standing on the shoulders of others. In my case, I just want to make cool videos with my kids, but my wife won't let me use live ammunition. Check some Video copilot tutorials out to see what I mean.

Editing is a wonderful thing to be able to do with videos, u can piece together scenes, add scenes, etc. It would be really difficult to believe this series of videos, quite a few at that..... Ur a professional person on Youtube, or on cam. U have knowledge of different effects etc, probably own every photoshop / adobe etc... there is on hand. U can edit ya stuff. Kudos to some of the effects that u created with the REAL GHOST GIRL ... videos.

I have Designer Sound FX. It was $100. I personaly was let down. It came with no gun sounds and the explosion sounded unrealistic.

@BENCOINTERNATIONAL Yeah I found it odd that there were no guns shots on there. I think that I used Action Essentials 2 for gun shots. Probably they would do well (our someone else) to do a Foley sound effects disc that might be more in line with what you were after.

AE2 and riot gear are pre keyed/pre matted video elements (.mov files). i don't know which software you're using, but if the softeare supports transparency at least AE2 should work. designer sound fx and pro scores are just .wav audio files. i'm pretty sure that they work with your avid software

but don't blaim me if not. ;)

-No such thing, unfortunately... That I know of, that's compatible with anything on the market. Sorry. If you're not on a high budget I'd recommend Fxhome's programs, they're quite easy to use, affordable and powerful - check them out (use Google). They also do greenscreen software and other stuff like that.
