this whole album takes me on a different adventure every time I hear it! I have the original print on vinyl and.. this album is other-worldly! The short 4 1/2 minute version just doesn't compare to the long one. Truly a great song and on my top list of romantic ones. It has an almost movie-soundtrack quality to it. The "breathe deep, the gathering gloom" seems like a voice-over. Justin Hayward has impressive vocals that still sound quite good..

i remember listening to this playing in the house when i was about 8 years old

( 45 now :o)...i have a brother 10 years older than me , and a sister 5 years older...not sure which one was always playing this album, but i am sure that i loved it then and still do...knew every word, and every magical musical sound way back then, and hearing it again now, was just as if no time has past...wow..music is so powerful and amazing.
