I would love a holiday brush set, do they come out any other time than christmas? I know there is a new collection coming out with brush set, lip palette and eye palette in july from mac... maybe I'll get that,
I know the holiday sets arent as good quality,machine made etc, but I think its a good opportunity for those of us who cant afford the full size to try some great brushes out, plus I like short handles.

hey do u find the mac 187 in the holiday set sheds? apparently mac brushes DONT shed or arent made to shed, so i dont noe wats going on. my 187 literally was shedding after i took it out from the pack, also the 187 in the holiday set is def the 188 in my opinion. its not as flared as the base of the original 187. total gyp. dont get the holiday mac sets!!

which one on 5th? one by saks or the one in flatiron? Its definitely not even half the one by saks. Its maybe about the size of the front portion of the flatiron store. one stand for each of the brands and more stuff on the wall shelves.
i've never been to any cco aside from the woodbury one so i don't know how it compares to the others. CCO is estee lauder owned so its all brands that they own, clinique, bobbi brown, mac are the big ones
Its not as nice but ok for the price. I've been using them lately and so far so good. The 187 isn't as firm/dense, it sheds a bit for me but not too horribly ( washed it twice). i suggest going to the store to feel them out before you buy them if you're thinking about it
Yeah! my aunt got this brush set because she wanted the 187 really bad and she hates it because the bristels are coming out like crazy, so that really sucks!
i have the same brush set. and i'm very very disappointed with the 187 in the set. the 190, 194, and 168 are all fairly good miniature versions of the regular brushes. however, the 187 in this set sucks! i tried applying my liquid foundation with it (Studio Fix Fluid) and let me tell you, this thing shed like CRAZY. i had so many long black hairs on my face from the brush. i haven't since used it. it's very sad since i was looking forward to using the 187 the most out of the others in this set.
If it weren't for the discounted price at Nordstroms, I wouldn't have gotten them for $49.50. Anyways, thank you so much for the video and the reply. This brush set is good for the $35 price tag at the very least.

I actually just got them at Nordstrom for $35 (I ordered online and pick up in store). I have to say that I am very disappointed with the quality of these brushes (just like the ones released w/ the color form in nordstrom earlier, and that's why I didn't get them). However, given the value of the set, I got them anyways.

you can do in store pickup from the website so i'm assuming your local nordstrom will sell it for the same price. just to be sure you might want to call the counter before you head over just to double check

i went to mac to check out that same kit and the 187SE did not feel as stiff/full as the regular one... it looks like in the video that it's more sparse and small. i didn't buy because if i wanted to spend money i would want the original high quality thing.
i bought the holiday set last year and the 187is soft but the dye started to run (it's made in china and i think the black bristles are dyed) i went to put on my foundation and my cheeks were all black. i would suggest getting the full size (it's made in Japan/France)

i think the main difference is that these little ones are mass produced/ machine made vs the regular ones that are supposedly hand made. though hearing about the color rub off is not scaring me haha

For the most part they're very similar in performance and great for the money, especially if you get it at the Nordstrom price. The brushes are smaller in size and easy to carry around. The only difference I noticed is that some of the brushes from the sets aren't as soft as the original. If its the 187 you're after I think you'll like the set, it works pretty well and its super soft :)

you should check out the eyeshadow called acid rain by urban decay its a similar shade to pagan but its really pigmented and has some shimmer to it
