@JoanWasQuizzical1 I have already posted Dig It and Again. I'm working on songs ... but she has soooo many ! Actually .. she's doing GREAT ! She has her very own .. new website. There is a message from her - she sounds pretty darn good for 88 or 86 - depending on which birth year you go with. She sounded great on a couple of radio broadcasts for her last birthday. She's still working on animal welfare projects around the country.

I have never heard anybody convey the lyrics as good as she does. What gift she had! And from what I have heard and read about her, she is a real caring person who is not in love with herself like so many stars out there. It just makes me appreciate her all the more. Thanks again for sharing this.

Her not being in love with herself allowed her to leave Hollywood behind in search of a more normal life. And -in a way - that left the public with an essence of her at her best. Not older - still trying to perform - maybe plastic surgery until she didn't really look like herself. You know what i mean ? We still see her as she was in her movies...and hear her singing at her best. And she has a happy life. We all win ! Thanks ... happy you enjoyed !

She really HATED the girl next door label. Everyone in Hollywood was placed in a category - and her slot was girl next door. As this song shows theres so much more to her ! One of the reasons she wrote her book was to dispel the girl next door image. I really LOVE this song. How about the "incommunicado" ... gee -- some girl next door !! well i'm a woman well a young adult and i think the reason why she sometimes felt she had to be sexy was probably because she was sick of everyone tagging her as the girl next door when she knew she wasn't.

I think she was a combination of tomboy and sexy -- strange but that's what she is. She could be sexy even when she was being a tomboy. Like in Young at Heart - when she sings Ready Willing and Able on the beach. Tomboy - but sexy at the same time.

I know the girl next door thing bugged her. But at the same time - in interviews - she says she's not sexy or beautiful ! So - maybe Garner was right - she didn't know she was sexy !
