  • This video was very helpful. I have a 12 month old Blue Heeler/Boarder Collie Mix and he just got the hang of Frisbee. Right now I can toss it up in the air and he will catch it. He is amazing at jumping. I think I will start to do rollers and other techniques to get him better used to it and catch it every time. Very helpful video, thanks!! Adorable dog!

  • verry cool

    i will learn this too.

    paws up

    Mani Mampffred

  • I did all of those steps and now my aussie mix has already caught 5 frisbees thx so much.

  • I just bought some dog frisbees today, can't wait to try some of your suggestions it looks like you really know what you're doing. Thanks!

  • Your such a good dog mom lol

  • Truly great dog training vid.

  • i have a jack russell terrier too! thax for the vid great job!

  • excellent ...thanks very helpfull

  • i don't have a dog, but i watched this till the end.

  • @JustJesse197 You should do some tutorials on some of these tricks! I wish my dogs were this smart! But I love my dogs anyways :) I would like to try teaching my almost 5 year old pup some tricks.

  • alot of dog trainign videos make no sense cuz the dog is already trained, but even though jesse is trained i can understand CLEARY what we're suppose to do :D good job trainer!

  • Go Jesse!

  • This video is Great!

And your voice is very nice :)

  • I LOVE what you covered, here. I got my pup and immediately started smearing food under the rim so he could #1-learn to want it; #2-learn how to pick it up off the ground. In regards to #2, it was a total success; then came the intense procedure of teaching "fetch"- which I did in 2 parts: "get it"/"bring it". (p.s. it was a necessity for him to do it this way; but, I'm so happy b/c I got 2 commands out of it). He's 8mo and liking ball a lil more. Maybe, it's time to start rolling disc again!

  • You did a GREAT job showing the step by step how to get your dog to catch a frisbee! Thank you so much! Everyone else's videos just show off their dog catching it but not teaching how to teach them. Thanks again!

  • awesome imma start first thing tomorow

  • Hey there! I really like your video and your dog! Oh my! he's great! thanks for your video, can you also make a video how to let your dog walk or stand on the.. the hands? sorry if I'm asking something hard.. or maybe impossible, but that really would be great! thanks! :D

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • I have been watching different videos to train my aussie pup, this is by far the best one i have seen on frisbees. No only is Jesse smart, but you Heather have patients, time, common scense and the love of animals to make this happen. i enjoy watching all of jesse videos....

  • Heather I'm totally impressed. I've got a Mini Jack Russell x Patterdale who's in dire need of some training like that. You've opened a new world to my dog, thank you for that :-)

  • it's awesome when he stand on his front legs

  • JESSE YOU'RE SO CUTE'!!!!!!

  • this dog is so smart

  • We ove ya jesse :D

  • Great video; not just fun to watch, but Heather, you are a terrific teacher of humans as well. :)

Seriously: no ego in this and not a wasted word!

  • I love this..

  • oh.. that was cool ^^ you did well

  • What age would it be okay for a dog to start catching frisbees? Would playing catch a frisbee with a pup hurt their teeth?

  • @zDreamerkid Puppies shouldn't be jumping to catch a frisbee until their bones are finished growing (a vet check before starting any sport is advisable as well). With a puppy, you can use a soft frisbee or a rubber frisbee so that it doesn't hurt their teeth. Rollers are best, and you can start off teaching a puppy to take a disc (without the jumping).

  • great way for me to see an example of operant conditioning and successive approximations, from psych class-and you've a real go-getter of a pup there.

It's not the dog's fault, but the masters

  • the best part about you and jesses relationship is that its more like two friends instead of dog and owner

  • Heather, this is such an excellent video, from all aspects! I've been wondering how to help my pup learn this as my other dog just took to it naturally! Even if Koani never actually gets into the frisbee catching like it's "usually" done, you've given me so many games and ideas that it will just be fun for us, and that's the whole point, right?
