hi Mikey, great video. I have a question. I just bought my first RC copter. But after a few crashes, my heli couldnt take off right. Normally it takes off vertical. But now it takes off in circular manner (the whole heli swirl in circle manner). I tried to do the trim like you showed but problem still persists. appreciate your advice...tq

@pjerry72 ... sad ... and probably he wonders why his biz is going down. Trouble is like corner shops for that emergency carton of milk while main food list is via the supermarket, LHS literally are expected to survive on pickings, the repair bits and pieces, having NOT sold the main item - that having been bought cheaper online. I know this as I am as guilty of it as many others. We all want the LHS to be there, but economics makes us spend online. I wonder what real cost is long term ?
@pjerry72 ... Simulator is well worth it ... but you can get this for free : Google for "HeliSimRC" ... it's much better than the other oft quoted freebie - FMS. All you need then is a Tx with USB cable ... which most, even the cheapo Chinese clone radios have. As to heli - I bought a clone 450 same as Mikeys, but actual SE V2 ( gyro is slung UNDER tail boom) for just over $200 RTF .. complete. Barebones version $25, radio system another $90, motor / ESC about $40, gyro $20... already over $170.

@hcoptertx ... you have a problem ... you ought to read what you typed before - then you will understand ...
Anyway - it's a common term "tail wagging" when gyro is not set right ... but of course you probably have another term for that ? Cyclic Yaw ?? Mikey is providing good flight instruction regardless of your need to correct terminology. I value his effort and time to make and post the vids.
As to my character, not your affair and anyway - you must be just as bad to be on here watching!
Hello Mikey,im still having trouble?my 450 T-rex helicopter still goes into a spin ?im trying everything,or maybe not the right way to stop this spinning, ive ajusted the trims, and the servo rod length,im sure im not the only one out there that when first starting out has had the same problem?
@acenspades Funny you mention that . No actually I just stick them in the dirt at the end of the day and use some sand paper or my bench grinder to file them down. Then I go clean my cats litter box with my bare hands to make them smell nice.
@slang989 well you are going to have to be more specific than that =). What helicopter and what exactly is the charging problem? You can also go to my website and email me directly.
MikeysRC - you've really gotten down to the fundamentals, I like it. I've spent over $250 on RC helis in the last 60-days. Now I can finally control them without difficulty
and loss of parts / blades, etc.! I'm jazzed to finally not be a klutz with these things which are such a joy to play with!! Who said big boys don't need toys!!!
hey my rc lost the connector buckle for the balance it wont stop spinning once on air hard to control can you tell me how to make a connector buckel my rc is JM 806 or something THNKS
good video like seeing the radio hand. Can you tell me how to set up the fly bar on a walker 4# series. i would like to know more about the wights and paddles. can this heli battery be upgraded to a litho?
Sorry I don't have any experience with that helicopter. You could probably use a li-po but make sure the voltage is similar and be aware that lip-os are lighter so you might have balance issues.
love the vids...inspired me to get a E-sky lama V3.
have already got it to hover...sort of lol...need more room i think, also managed to over correct and have the 2 rotors collide causing 2 damaged and one scratched blade. must be more carefull!
One thing I would like to thank you for the time you spend trying to teach people that are new to the heli hobby.I tryed to do these practices on my sim but kind of hard.promblem is its not like the real thing .ive been trying to learn this for a while but my helis been out of service for awhile now .after the hover part umm how do you get the gutts to even do foward flight it scary to me lol!!!.and do you build and sell the clone trex 450 for other people also or how do i buy one
Man! You're awsome...! a great lesson at the most important moment! I just got a walkera 4g1 heli today and it slids to right when I take off from ground... with this video I managed to fix it with some trimming... Cheers man! you're great! thank u!
Wow these are great lessons. I have a Wasp V3 that I'm trying to learn how to fly but as soon as I get it airborn it goes into a counter-clockwise spin. Nothing I do seems to stop it. I can't even make it spin clockwise. There's got to be something physically wrong with the copter itself, right? The tail-rotor is belt driven.
The problem is that your tail servo is not in the right spot. Turn everything on, then center the trim tab on your transmitter, then loosen the clamp screws holding your tail servo on the tail boom. Slide the tail servo one direction ot the other (only like a mm at a time) to see if that helps stop the spinning. Keep moving it till its pretty darn close...i.e. not heli spinning. Then re-tighten, hover the heli and adjust the final trim with your trim tab on the transmitter.
hey how much was that practice helicopter? and what was it called and everything lol im 13 i have a big helicopter i tried flying but it keeps breaking so i gave up but i was thinking if i got a smaller one then i could probily work my way up
It's an Esky brand and the helicopter is a co-axial Comanche. It costs about $90 but that include everything needed to fly and a charger and a transmitter etc.
Yeah go for the HoneyBee. It's cheaper (at least at xheli) which means more money for spare parts. And it will probably be easier to find the spare parts at your local hobby shop too.
hey micky i have a axe cx micro and its very fun to fly but im trying to get a better heli like a honey bee or falcon 40 if u can help me look for a good 1 it will help me alot thanks

slang989 1 year ago
@slang989 well you are going to have to be more specific than that =). What helicopter and what exactly is the charging problem? You can also go to my website and email me directly.

MikeysRC - you've really gotten down to the fundamentals, I like it. I've spent over $250 on RC helis in the last 60-days. Now I can finally control them without difficulty
and loss of parts / blades, etc.! I'm jazzed to finally not be a klutz with these things which are such a joy to play with!! Who said big boys don't need toys!!!

good video like seeing the radio hand. Can you tell me how to set up the fly bar on a walker 4# series. i would like to know more about the wights and paddles. can this heli battery be upgraded to a litho?
maxxroon 2 years ago
Sorry I don't have any experience with that helicopter. You could probably use a li-po but make sure the voltage is similar and be aware that lip-os are lighter so you might have balance issues.

love the vids...inspired me to get a E-sky lama V3.
have already got it to hover...sort of lol...need more room i think, also managed to over correct and have the 2 rotors collide causing 2 damaged and one scratched blade. must be more carefull!
great vids!!

hi my 9ch rc transmitter and resiver is coming in 10 days cant wait i order 6 metal servo and lipo battery
i made the f22 from foam but i made it 3d so its more like f22 so is it good for biggener?? its going to be my first time flying a rc plane
3dsMaxModelingViper 2 years ago
The F-22 is not a good beginner plane. A high wing propeller plane is best for a trainer. But I'm sure you will have fun with it.

40elgin 2 years ago
I sell helicopters on my website.
I first started out doing forward flight with a cheaper fixed pitch helicopter. So there was less money on the line if I crashed =)

That looks like an indoor coaxial helicopter.
MikeysRC 2 years ago
fly your heli in a wide open space and no trees so you dont wreck it if you crash

4rbd 2 years ago
The problem is that your tail servo is not in the right spot. Turn everything on, then center the trim tab on your transmitter, then loosen the clamp screws holding your tail servo on the tail boom. Slide the tail servo one direction ot the other (only like a mm at a time) to see if that helps stop the spinning. Keep moving it till its pretty darn close...i.e. not heli spinning. Then re-tighten, hover the heli and adjust the final trim with your trim tab on the transmitter.

hey how much was that practice helicopter? and what was it called and everything lol im 13 i have a big helicopter i tried flying but it keeps breaking so i gave up but i was thinking if i got a smaller one then i could probily work my way up
newgenerationkids1 2 years ago
It's an Esky brand and the helicopter is a co-axial Comanche. It costs about $90 but that include everything needed to fly and a charger and a transmitter etc.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to take a puppet seriously.

pilot1115 2 years ago
Yeah go for the HoneyBee. It's cheaper (at least at xheli) which means more money for spare parts. And it will probably be easier to find the spare parts at your local hobby shop too.
MikeysRC 2 years ago
hey micky i have a axe cx micro and its very fun to fly but im trying to get a better heli like a honey bee or falcon 40 if u can help me look for a good 1 it will help me alot thanks
pilot1115 2 years ago
Between those two I would get the HoneyBee Fixed pitch. How much can you spend on your next helicopter?
MikeysRC 2 years ago

matt00harley 2 years ago
