  • good debate, you respect others rights to believe in a faith, because you are a humanist many humanists need religion but all have faith in humankind the anti social pc anty choice aethiests are fucknuts youre right many are also racists and nationalists! and are against free speech or common ground

  • I understand your point of view. It's an interesting video but personally I try to find some middle ground between yours and Pat Condell’s views.

I think your way would mean some people can live their lives in peace BUT unfortunately if everyone was as passive as you seem to want them to be then when religious nuts do come along then they'll be able to blow up buildings and be homophobic and sexist without anyone hindering them until after the hate or act has been committed or preached.

  • Thats awesome...i bet there great people...i just found it ironic..just a heads up im new to youtube...so if you got a sec to check out a vid of mine that would be awesome...let me know what you think...thanks..later

  • Why do you work in a jewish musuem and yet claim to be athiest? Is it just a job to you? Since the jewish religion is founded on the evidence of God

  • @123moscowman Yes it's just a job. I like everyone I work with and consider many to be good friends. These relationships exist in spite of the religious nature of the museum, not because of it.

  • i miss you man!! You are such a cool person and so smart! Cant wait till we visit you again :)

  • Fuck yeah!, great vid, also...

    " I don't seek the destruction of religion, I seek it's irrelevancy."

Religion will die eventually, but it can't be forced, let it die slow and painfully, that way people can see it for the steaming pile of shit it truly is.

  • Ego, self preservation, and fear. The Hero of a Thousand Faces , as Campbell called it, refers to people's constant need to look outward for their savior rather than solve their own problems themselves...this is the crux of religion...beyond that, I don't mess with that kind of psychosis if I don't have to.

  • Are you sure you're an Atheist? Somehow it's doubtful....

  • @religiongonecrazy Yep, still am. I hate the religion not the religious. Until they annoy me or do something psychotic. Then I hate them as well. But I'd venture that roughly 75% of religious people are ordinary folks who actually do keep their religion to themselves. Which is all I've ever asked. Maybe other atheists want more. I don't seek the destruction of religion, I seek it's irrelevancy.

  • @arbitterm 75% of the religious most likely are ordinary folk. Crazy and sometimes insane ordinary folk. These same ordinary folk, although not outspoken about it, believe in and think things are true such as the Rapture, The Virgin Mary, 72 Virgins, The Eucharist, God, Jesus, etc., ad nauseam and would have no qualms about sending you right to Hell for not believing. You will never see religion become irrelevant because insanity will always be inherent in humans, and thus religion will remain.

  • ya I agree, I mean sure we Christians and jews worship something that to logical people is insane but religion has been around since the dawn of time, people like me want to believe in a god because we simply can't take admit that after 5 or so million years of worshiping, that there could be no god, like u said, you don't have to respect the religion, respect the fact that over 1 million or so people choose to believe in something, that it gets people by each day

    you said it all man!!

  • I agree with Pat 100%.

  • I agree, he toke it too far.

It's not his atheism that disturbed me, it was him. As I said, he speaks as a sociopath thinks and I guess it's not your fault that he is wacko. Extremists sucks.

  • @cherrypie5195 I actually think that he made a valid point in his video. Religion acts as if it deserves respect when - personally I believe - it doesn't.

It's quite evil in some aspects.

I think it does more harm than good and we need people like Pat Condell to be blunt and honest about how bad it truly is. (However I do understand both points of view)

  • Totally agree with you! This is why I dislike it when some of my fellow atheists are overly-confrontational and asshole-ish. That's why I disappove of the atheist billboard in NJ!
