  • Oh, I really really like this :) What a good way to recycle bags. Here in the UK, we don't really use paper bags much - not like they do over your way, (AND we don't have a Micheals, lol) but I might be able to grab some from somewhere and have a go at this. Thanks for sharing! :)

    thank you

  • What a GREAT tutorial! TFS I'm going to have to try this!

  • where and wat kind of canvas?

  • This is a wonderful video. I really appreciate you taking the time to show details and share info about your books. It has taken me a while to get excited about the mini books, but after seeing some of your work, I think I will get busy. When you say you used canvas from Walmart, do you mean you purchased a canvas duct material by the yard, or did they have artist canvas? If artist canvas, was it primed?

  • I sent for a ready made paper bag on ebay ........not anymore thanks to your video ....great tutorial.

  • I am so glad you made this tutorial for us. You are incredibly talented! I cannot thank you enough for explaining this method step by step. You have made my day!

  • when decorating your album...I notice your album look like you have all one piece on a page...do measure the whole bag and then add your score line? just curious..I was piecing it out...side then the flap where it folds...

  • Love it!!!

  • Thanks for this video! I will be making my own paper bag album :)

  • She gets her bags at Michaels.

  • Thank you! Beautiful albums and great tutorial. I just wish I knew what chip board is:) If it is what I think it is, then it's rather thick and I wonder how you can cut it into the size you need? I wish someone would make a foreigner starter tutorial that showed some real basics - like the tags you decorate, do you make them yourself or do you buy them in a pack. And what tools should a beginner have. I hope one day to make something just ½ as pretty as the ones you made:)

  • were do you get the bags from?

  • I have one word to say, but it deserves to be said more than once: Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

  • This is a wonderful tutorial. I like the way you bind the mini album and how you explain what your doing. Is the canvas just purchased by the yard? Also do you need to reinforce the bag slots? Thanks again great project!

  • I like this video! Thanks for sharing how you made it.

  • yeh.....im so happy i found this video!!!! i bot 50 bags for 1.30.....at the asian store yeh!!!!

  • Hello

I love your videos, but you can not make a video about how to make a scrapbook out of white paper?

  • love it!

    it i so cool :)

  • I found this video very helpful! I am making a Father's Day album for my Dad and was able to use this technique thanks to you :)

  • You are amazing. I feel like I just hit scrapbook gold! you rock

  • great paperbag book!!!!

  • thank you for yor how to video you do some lovely work I love all your videos ou really make it fun and easy for other to put together their own album. can wait to see how mine turns out thanks so much.. enjoy your scrapping

  • Where do you get chipboard?

  • I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

  • wow you are super talented

  • can you show how u decorated the pages and how you glue it all on to make the middle. i am very interested to see how u came about making the inside as lovely as it is. and how its so sturdy looking.

  • Very clever!

  • Where can I buy this "chip board"?

  • Just use recycled cereal boxes :))

  • what is this "chip board" she refers to at 4:14 seconds? where can I buy one?

  • Such a chunky cute paperbag album! TFS!

  • Oh this is really lovely. Thank you so much for sharing.

But i really don't have any idea where to buy that canvas you use.

  • this is absolutely amazing, thanks! :)

  • Hi, I love the album but I'm wondering if regular lunch bags are archival, or if they might be prone to deterioration over the years. Can one buy archival bags at craft stores?

  • I was wondering if you would recommend only canvas for the cover. I was thinking of using a piece of thick brocade fabric with a heavy fusible interfacing on the back to make it a bit more sturdy. What is your opinion on this?

  • You bet! I have a kit out with tapestry and have also used faux leather and have one in the works with q mini quilt. As long as it stabilized, almost anything can work!

  • @Sault2

  • Another question: Where do you get your canvas from?

  • What paper is that that you are using for your Halloween book? I love it and where do you get your Chipboard cover? I love this tutorial thank you so much.

  • It is the Eerie collection from basic gray. I get my chipboard at my local scrapbook store and the canvas is from Walmart.

  • What an awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing...

  • where do you get the canvas cover?

  • What a great tutorial. This was the best i've seen by far as far as detail and clear instruction :) Thanks so much...very helpful :)

  • where do you buy the canvas and how do you attach it and the closures. I love your work and plan on ordering your kits. Thanks, Donna

  • As I showed in the tutorial, the canvas is attached with the super tacky red tape. The closures can vary from no closure to a tied ribbon, to the chains like on the "Spooky" album.

  • Nice work... Im planning to make one too... This is awesome! You give me ideas... thanks ;)

  • So glad I found this! I just started working on a paper bag album but wasn't quite sure about the putting it together part, now I have some wonderful ideas. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • great idea thanks so much! :)

  • Where would I find those D rings that you're using? Love your videos!

  • Awesome !!!!!!! Thats all I can say.

  • Laura you are just AMAZING!!! Every video I watch of yours I am floored at your creativity! And I am grateful that you share your ideas with us!

  • Great video. I LOVE Halloween albums (don't know why) so I would love to see how yours turns out!

    Thanks for sharing your talents!

  • Hi Laura, loved the idea for side of the binding! (d-ring & eyelets) For the canvas cover, I have canvas' here for painting, but looks like you have a piece of canvas that you cut to fit, is this from Michael's? I haven't seen it like this~ it might sound crazy, but should I cut my canvas apart? I love your videos! Thanks for sharing! Velma

  • It's canvas duck yardage from the fabric department at Walmart. It can be found at most chain fabric stores and usually comes in 60" width. I bought 1/4 yd and had enough for the "Strike-a-Pose" album as well as the Halloween album. Cut a bit larger than you need it to be as I mentioned in the tutorial as it can shrink a bit. Hope this helps.

  • You're so sweet! Thank you for giving me the info for the canvas ~I'll go out and find some! You're two books are beautifully done! I just love them. Thanks again, Hugs,Velma

  • Totally awesome...will definetly go and buy some canvas...I've worked with canvas before but not like this...you are very inspirational! :)

  • Great video and tutorial. I had a question about the waterfall effect on the halloween paper bag how did you do that and also did you say that you got the one size smaller paper bags from Michaels? TFS!

  • This is great Laura! Maybe i missed it but what did you use to adhere the canvas to the chipboard??? With canvas being so porous do you recommend using gesso on the back to seal it?? Just wondering, those are the kinds of "problems" i always seem to run into in the middle of the night...lol

    Thx for sharing!

    ~Jill

  • With the paint/gesso on the front, I find that I don't need to seal it. If it is at all questionable, I'd seal it. I use the red 1/2" wide "Terrifically Tacky Tape" by Provo Craft to attach the canvas to the chipboard.

  • thanks for the information!

    ~Jill

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to explain how you do this... your work is so beautiful! I can't wait to try this.
