  • Who would listen to this garbage? Besides I think the pagans would have something different to say.

  • I had to listen to this song on a regular basis whilst I worked during Christmas time at my Christian bookstore. Dammit, if someone says, "Happy holidays" to you, say it fucking back. Everyone is being dicks about this.

Also, the stand-up comic makes me want to die. He's horribly obnoxious.

  • @toonytown2 you can take a seat. why did you look up the song if you just came here to hate. and yes more people celebrate Christmas than Hanukkah and Kwanza. Especially here in America.

  • Hear that everybody? Christmas is the only holiday that matters. Hanukkah, Kwanza, and any others don't matter. It's all about Christmas.

  • Its called christmas, but is has nothing to do with the birth of jesus, who may or may not have existed and may or may not have been the christ, lol. Hardcore christians don't even celebrate it.

  • I like the song and to those who don't and have all these nasty things to say about the music and god. Then don't listen to it. Just remember when the day comes we will stand before him and answer for what we done. PS SO HANG ON

  • I think we should all celebrate the birth of sol, much more poetic anyways.

Plus, i say merry christmas and i am an athiest, this guy just wants to be a dick and push his indoctrination on the rest of the world. Vote up if you think the issue is with the christians forcing their views down everyone else's throats, diwn ifnyou agree with theasshole who thinks that his way is the only way, and the rest of us need to just deal with it. Watch as this is flagged for negative votes.

  • Christmas is not betrayed by the inoffensive phrase "Happy Holidays" but by those who, knowing what Christmas commemorates, indulge in a 6 to 8 week orgy of materialism and the quest for a mythical perfect day of celebration. Turn off the television, stay away from retailers and e-sellers and re-invent the meaning of peace and good will in your life.

  • I was disturbed by the message that the song some way implies there is an attack on Christians by saying happy holidays. Did they forget there was New Years day as well and that some people try to save syllables in a meaningless impersonal greeting or goodbye instead of saying Merry Christmas and a Happy new year? Nor does this take into account that "Christmas" was a co-opted pagan holiday to begin with. Christ was born in the middle of summer.

  • @edchuckndoug saving syllables, really? really? cuz it takes so long just to say merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Look Im sorry if our songs are making u disturbed, but only cuz its disturbing u we will stop right now.

  • @sittingduhk Eye think yer wright! :-)

  • this is fuckin gay

  • @sadakokimono I'm Canadian and you are a stereotypical idiot! I'm not the type that believes in love thy neighbor and the only time I will turn the other cheek is never! I'm not brainwashed like you!! Your in for a very disappointing life!! Haha, your a shining example of the sheep being led to the slaughter! The meek shall inherit the earth when all us hunters have had are feed! Hope you like leftovers? ;-)

  • @eazyevan1 I think you mean "you're" not "your"

  • The destruction of christianity itself will come from christians.

  • good but cant these young guys slow down a little when speaking,

  • Micha 5.

  • and to everyone.....a very merry CHRISTmass.

  • the world will be a better place if we all do that. acceptance is whats needed. and if someone wants to know about Christ and his birth and why then i think we are obligated to fulfill that need. forceful evangelism should be frowned upon. but forceful bigotry and bias from PC ppl whould also be toned down and or completely stopped.

  • the comedian in the song pretty much explains the whole reason why "happy holidays' is even used. 1418 ppl just dont understand that its our right to say Merry Christmas and its not their right to take it away b/c it offends ppl. if your afraid of offending ppl then make up words to replace cuss words or derogatory words and or phrases ppl use. otherwise stop with your bullheaded bigotry. its just annoying. leave us in peace and don't worry about what we do or say. just smile and be polite.

  • wow propagand movie normally a religious or cult would try to hide it some what

  • Happy Solstice!

  • Merry Christmas !

beautiful stated song love the message it is called Christmas because Christ is the reason for this season. +

  • I will always say MERRY CHRISTMAS ,

  • Of course, he took the punishment, but we can refuse the grace of his act with unrepentant deadly sin. Jesus says there are sins that will damn us, if unrepentant. I think it's Matt 5 and 6 that has most of that. The prodigal son's father would have forgiven him after his act of taking his inheritance and wasted it having defiled himself by their law, which, for how he fulfilled the law, would be inner defilement, but what if the son had not come back to accept forgiveness&regain his loss?.

  • MERRY CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • I love the video. It says how I feel.......Have mercy (and He does) get song.

  • Everyone who rags on Go Fish, just stop. They are one America's very best bands right now, and I Got the Joy should easily have won album of year. This album literally changed my life, and I won't stand idly by while heathens mock.

"God's got a law, and we pretty much destroyed it, we're gonna get judged and there's no way to avoid it."

    Words to live by.

Go Fish is an American institution, and should be respected as such. I stopped cheating on my wife because of this, and bless Go Fish!

  • Happy ChristHanukkahKwanzaamas!

    Oh, I forgot Festivus. :/

  • I'm pretty happy saying merry christmas, as it is now so diluted of any connection to christianity that I don't even think of Jesus when I say it. Merry Christmas everyone!

  • By the looks of some of these (if not most) I'm betting no one realizes without Christmas there wouldn't even be a Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or anything else having to do with God. And what about holidays in general? If they were all taking away and/or banned just because some ppl get offended; what a sick, sad, boring world this would be. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays (while we still have them), and Happy New Year Everybody!!

  • @VampressLilithxx How would there not be a Hanukkah without Christmas?

  • @VampressLilithxx No Hanukkah? You sure?

  • @VampressLilithxx ...Without Christmas, there would be no Hanukkah? Really? The much-older Hanukkah is dependent on Christmas for its existence? What Christian practice ensures the continued celebration of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot? And Kwanzaa has very little to do with any gods--it's a manufactured celebration focusing on ethnicity, not religion. You can have a celebration without it being religious, as Kwanzaa demonstrates.

  • I love this song!!!!!

  • @sadakokimono and let me be real by telling you I'd punch you in your chest and make your shoulders clap clap clap! Fuck your feelings Nancy this is a mans world and I do and say what I want! You wish you could you sensitive cum guzzler!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS! :-)))

  • @eazyevan1 Nice to know you're really taking all of that 'love thy neighbor' and 'turn the other cheek' and 'do unto others' stuff to heart. You're a shining example of the products of American society. Bravo, douchebag, bravo.

  • Christ is the REASON for this SEASON! It's called CHRISTmas! HELLO!

  • @Jany1954 Actually, it's called 'Winter'. Unless you mean the liturgical Christmas Season (Christmastide), in which case, the Catholic Church is the reason for the season--and in that case, the season doesn't begin until Christmas Day anyway (running 'til Epiphany).

  • Christians don't have a "religion" - we have a Faith in the One who is Called The Lord Jesus Christ- the Saviour of the WORLD! He is GOD; He was God in the flesh :) AMEN !

  • Just got your 'Christmas with a Capital C' as a gift. I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!! Their music is great for everyone!! Will Spread it around. Thanks

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS IF IT WASN'T FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE BIRTH OF CHRIST THERE WOULD BE NO HOLIDAYS FOR YOU HOLIDAY WANNA BE'ERS TO CELEBRATE! ......GREAT SONG!

  • I've got mixed reactions to this, being a Christian myself, raised in the Bible belt, and the blurring of church and state, the song seems a bit angry. We all celebrate the Mystery and miracle of Christ's birth in our own way. We've just pulled out of a Holy War, destroyed a country, with how many dead Iraqi's trying to bring "Freedom" and our "Christian Values " a country that doesn't want it, meanwhile our country is bankrupt morally and literally. Christ was the Prince of Peace.

  • This is the gayest song I've ever heard. I'd rather say "Happy Holidays" which applies to everyone (including Christians) than say "Merry Christmas" which applies to one group of people. These Christians need to quit complaining, they don't even know when Christ was really born.

  • @djgarbis I don't disgree with that but what are you supposed to do, send out a survey or ask someone up front before you send them a card or greet them?

  • @KJTV67 Are you as concerned about how somebody greets you on Valentine's Day versus Christmas? Does it make a difference?

  • @freespeachrulez: if that's what you want to call me, fine. Doesn't mean I have to respond. As I said, it's supposed to be a cheerful season/greeting regardless of how it's vocalized. If it matters to you, great. It doesn't matter to me.

  • there are more important ways to celebrate your faith than complaining about how someone greets you......give me a break.

  • "its called Christmas what more can i say? we took it from those pagans and you cant take it away"

  • Actually the pagans took advantage of the holiday and made it something else as in all about Santa, who is not real. But we Christians took it back! Amen!

  • I think it's sad that so-called Christians have managed to poison what USED to be a lovely time of year with their anger, defensiveness, pettiness and small-mindedness.

Christianity in America is SO FAR from the real thing at this point that it's sickening.

  • @cfortunato58 The ideal is always different from the reality of a religion's practice. Sad but true.

  • thanks guys I needed to here a song like this, keep on singing it!!

  • writing X-mas isn't bad, Christs name in Greek starts with an X

  • @j25727lego then we should have the greeks use it

  • thumbs up if you herd this at shadracks christmas wonderland

  • "Happy Holidays" has been around since at least 1942. Stop acting like someone is insulting you when they're just giving you a friendly greeting. And PLEASE stop making Christians look like a pack thin-skinned whining children. What is WRONG with you? Get a REAL problem. Because a store clerk saying "Happy Holidays" isn't one.

  • @cfortunato58 thats not the case, they are worried they will offend somebody else if they say CHRISTmas but in a way we are getting offended, people have to learn someone is gonna get offended this time of year and that person just has to live with it, life is not perfect

  • I was merely extrapolating from your mention of the winter solstice which, though marked by nearly every culture of antiquity, today is most commonly associated with the pseudo religions which have come down from the Anglo-Irish-Celtic traditions. Perhaps the challenge should be to better define your terminology. Culturally-defined points of reference are key components of effective communication. Merry Christmas!

  • What holiday is held on December 24th and 25th in America and north America? CHRISTMAS!!! Next time your cashing out ask the dumb looking fuckers what holiday it is and can they please specify so I don't spend my hard earned money in the wrong store!! MERRY CHRISTMAS MOTHER FUCKERS!!! LOL

  • @eazyevan1 Wow. Remind me to pretend I'm working at McDonalds, so I can spit in your shopping bag. I hope a smart clerk will respond with 'Well, this year, it happens to be Hanukkah this week, so...'

  • Wow....from all of the freaky responses I would say you people are on overload!

Get a grip...............and put away the weed for awhile! Merry Christmas!

  • I Truley Think Its How a Person Wants it

I know Some Wonderfull CHURCH people that Writes Merry Xmas & say happy holidays,

    myself i do both, LOL

THIS WAS SENT/ SHARED / With me. So My 2 cents in lol

Other wise i woulnt found it, LOL

    i belive in god, & i pray..

But life is To short To Argure Over Pity things..

Im Enjoying my 59 years of life & till Jesus tells me its time.. merry Xmas & happy holidays !!!!!

  • i agree with this video 100%. i should be able to say Merry Christmas without worrying about being politicly correct. you see the Jewish community saying Happy Hanukkah to people, so theres no reason that Christians shouldn't be able to say Merry Christmas

  • @Pretzeleminems313 I want to poop on you

  • @XanBcoo why because im proud of my religion?

  • @Pretzeleminems313 What law was recently passed that banned people from saying 'Merry Christmas'? I'm out of the country, so I haven't been around for this latest round of legislation against the increasingly oppressed and downtrodden Christian minority of the United States.

Oh wait. You CAN say Merry Christmas to whomever you please as a way of advertising your religion--just like I can say 'Happy Holidays' as a way of trying to include their beliefs in my greeting.

  • @sadakokimono i know i can say it, but it seems like people get offended if you do because they arent Chistian or whatever their situation may be. im just saying that i want to be able to express my religion without being politically correct. hop off

  • @Pretzeleminems313 Just ask yourself who cares what others think when you say Marry Christmas. If they are offended when you say Mary Christmas, just think how offened you are when they take Christ out of Christmas

  • @Pretzeleminems313 And there IS no reason why a Christian can't say Merry Christmas. It's your choice, just like it's mine to say Happy Holidays (or rather, how Happy Holidays is my default greeting if I don't know what your religion is--if I know you're Christian, I'll say Merry Christmas to you, but if I don't know, then I use a greeting that wishes that whatever day you celebrate be a happy one.)

  • I wonder if the Pagans got this upset when Christians started saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Solstice" when they stole the holiday.

  • @BeekersSqueakers FYI: Christmas was offered in place of the Roman holiday Saturnalia, so it wasn't stolen from the so-called pagans. Get your facts straight before you pontificate, bro.

  • @amkaen The term "pagan" refers to any religion that is non-abrahamic (ie anything other than islam, christianity and judaism). Under this definition roman mythology, of which Saturnalia was a part of, would be considered "pagan". Perhaps I'm not the one who needs to get their facts straight.

  • I like this vido, and I think it should we sent to Obama.

  • @Sontay71 Come again?

  • I don't really give a fuck if you say Merry Christmas.

  • HOLY CRACKERS there are other holidays this time of year? Who knew?

Look, honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Just shrug it off and go, "Meh, I don't celebrate Christmas I celebrate X" when wished a Merry Christmas, or, "I celebrate Christmas" when wished a Happy Holiday, no big deal. Why get so mad?

I believe in people's right to be offended by things, toning everything down so nothing is offensive is asinine. But over something so petty? Nobody is out to sabotage anybody else's holiday.

  • @Dliciousization When people tell me what they celebrate after I say 'Happy Holidays', I take that as my cue to then revise my greeting and wish them a Happy *****. Unless they get snippy and bitch me out, in which case I wish them a 'happy stepping in dog turds in your favorite shoes-day' in my head.

  • I love it!

  • No, it's called Saturnalia with a capital "S".

  • @ItsAFootball

or Dies Natalis Sol Invicti or Yule.

It's a combo of several old pagan festivals.

  • Comment removed

  • It's been Christmas and should stay Christmas - The Atheists can have their holiday - they believe in nothing so they can have nothing and like it. Christ is the reason for Christmas. He came and died and rose so people like you can receive His free gift and live with Him forever. Your choice! That's right, God gives YOU the choice to choose Him or reject Him. People don't go to heaven because that's their choice.

  • @tbohunter Would it offend you if I told you I was an Atheist yet I still celebrated Christmas? Cause I am and I do.

  • @ItsAFootball We've got plenty of Buddhists celebrating Christmas over here in Japan, too--people just like having parties and exchanging gifts.

  • Christians should not spend their money at places that are not willing to put up Merry Christmas signs because it might offend someone. not putting up Merry Christmas offends me. what is the difference?

    it's my money

  • It's always nice to see Christians being tolerant and inclusive of everyone's religion.

    Happy Hanukkah everyone.

  • @13andincradiblycutt Happy Hanukkah to you!

  • @KJTV67 Mazel tov

  • @13andincradiblycutt

This guys intimidated ! Haha i <3 Jesus

  • @13andincradiblycutt "It wasn't about a religion, it was about something as a culture we thought was so valuable that we'd all do it together even if I disagreed with the religion behind it because it was good for all of us instead of just me"

  • @13andincradiblycutt You're missing the point here. As Christians, we aren't ignoring or trying to change Hanukkah, it is a Holiday unto itself and has nothing to do with Christmas. We just want the world to know we won't be bullied into "down playing" Christ's birthday celebration and why should we have to? MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HANUKKAH TO ALL! :)

  • @My1CRAZY1 then why do y'all rag on people who choose to say Happy Holidays?

  • @whutuppp No one is "ragging" on you, what we are trying to say is that it is our right being a Christian to say Marry Christmas, just as you have the right to say Happy Holiday. Your "non-faith" has taken our rights to put anything that has Christ on our lawns, in some towns. We have people wanting to take down tombstones that have a cross on it. So, you think you are getting "ragged" on. Unbelievable!!!!

  • @mtduffer Oh bull honkey. First of all you're immediately assuming i'm some scary athiest cause you got a persecution complex. Second, no one is stopping you from saying "marry" Christmas. The reason stores and people say "Happy Holidays" is because it covers the 4+ holidays that occur during the month of December.

Sure Athiests can be douche bags but Christians are the majority in the US. It's totally ridiculous to call yourselves victims.

  • Why do people get hung up over which saying has more meaning? Whether someone says Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas, or whatever other holiday you choose to celebrate/acknowledge...the whole point is to wish someone well for the season. What's wrong with that?

  • @hardyzfan86 Do you say Happy Holidays on Feb 14?

  • @KJTV67 Do you say Happy Holidays on February 6th? I don't say Happy Valentine's Day when it's not Valentine's Day, if that's what you're asking. (I also remove the 'St.' from the day's name--oh no, call the Vatican!)

  • @hardyzfan86< Wishing someone well for the season when you say "Happy Holidays" is fine - for a non-Christian. But to a Christian, it has a great meaning to celebrate the birth of Christ. Saying "Merry Christmas" has been the usual expression [and is implied to mean just what it says] for centuries - long before it became acceptable to celebrate the non-descript "Holidays" [which, by the way, means "Holy days"]. Guess why they are Holy days? Yup - because of Christ's birthday.

  • @hardyzfan86 "People" have been taking Christ out of Christmas forever! Christmas is and always will be the celebration of the birth of Christ....period.

  • @hardyzfan86 Its because of the politically correct BS behind it all.

  • @hardyzfan86 Hey Bardyzfant34 can I start calling you that? I mean some people might know who I am talking about? It sounds kinda the same right? Lets start calling Obama the Benderhauser.. I mean we all know he is the president.. but lets just not call it that. .As long as people know who he is. .

  • What would be awesome is if for just one Christmas ALL Christians everywhere would shop ONLY at stores who still said "Merry Christmas". Guarantee you the next Christmas all the major retailers would not only have Merry Christmas plastered everywhere but also have huge Nativity scenes set in the front of their stores! Retailers have forgotten that the ONLY reason they make TONS of $ between Thanksgiving and Dec 25 is because of CHRISTMAS!!! Period!!!

  • It's called Christmas - CHRISTmas!

  • You would be correct, nobody ever says Happy Holidays in February because the only god damn holiday in February is Valentine's Day, you dumb asshole, unless you want to count Black History Month, then there are two, but that would mean that you only remember holidays when it's convenient for you to shove your religion down everyone else's throat.

  • The reason we say Happy Holidays in December is because THERE'S MORE THAN ONE HOLIDAY IN DECEMBER, YOU PRETENTIOUS ASSHOLE! Nobody's saying Happy Holidays to exclude Christ or Christmas, they want to include Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas.

Jesus Christ, I've never run across something so inexpressibly stupid in all of my adult life.

  • @creepilycreepy1 kwanza ??? what kind of holiday is kwanza, is just a "rebel holiday" for people that are so worked up about the major religions in the west ? and to be honest black history month shouldn't exist unless all ethnicities are represented. i'm french canadian and i think that there should be a french/french canadian month, and the irish, italians, portuguese, cambodians, moroccans, russians, indians, japanese and everybody else should too.

    Joyeux Noël !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @creepilycreepy1 What about Abe Lincoln and George Washington's birthdays, eh?

  • @kozowh Yeah, they're holidays in February too but that's not my point. The point is that Happy Holidays is supposed to be inclusive of every religion, not to exclude Christ or Christmas. Also, your comment kind of proves my point that this song only remembers other holidays when it's convenient for it to give people the illusion that Christians are apparently being oh so oppressed by the whopping 1.8% of Atheists in this country.

  • One's belief in God has always been controversial - we battle among ourselves over it...yet we all read or are taught the same old stories of Abraham and others. I guess it's just in our nature to believe that that same 'God' is on 'our side'....therefore others who believe in the same God differently are 'wrong'. Always interesting.

  • This is fucking terrible.

  • @handicappedhoods

    nice language potty mouth

  • "PUT A HELMET ON!"

  • CALL IT CHRISTMAS QUIT OPPRESSING THE 78.5% OF CHRISTIANS IN THE UNITED STATES YOU LIBERAL!!!!!!

  • Jeremiah 10: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

So it appears that God frowns on this decorated tree BS. So what's REALLY reason for the season?

  • I love the Christmas season; not because of the so called “reason for the season” but because I can self righteously bully total strangers into submission for using the wrong word to describe it and isn’t that the REAL reason for the season :o)

Research will show that Dec 25 has nothing to do with Jesus and everything to do with other gods. You may want to google this or hear the words “I never knew you” when you finally meet Jesus. (“Dear Jesus; Didn’t we worship other gods in your name?”)

  • AWESOME!!!

  • As long as its perceived as more profitable to say Happy Holidays than Merry Christmas it will continue as so. It's not about what the PC and liberal left want, it's about what the corporations think will make them the most money. Take it up with the CEOs.

  • @cheapskateninja Yup--Christians have no one but Capitalists to blame. Which means atheists are off the hook, since we're all supposed to be communists, apparently. LOL

  • It's called Christmas. It has always, since long before anyone here was born, been called Christmas. If you happen to have come here from another country with a different religion, keep in miind why you or your ancestors came here to find or get away from. Then, if you want to change that you are more than welcome to go back to where you had what you want to change our customs/regions to. If you want to join in on the fun, stick around and enjoy our ways of celebrating Christmas.

  • Ever notice how WAY more people get offended by "Happy Holidays" than "Merry Christmas"?

  • For people who say the vast majority of stuff is Christian stores is junk, whatever. The music is not junk. Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, Tobymac and more. They are all Christian. Chinese workshops? Really?

  • @NOTAFAN2323 I don't mean to be offensive, and we're talking about subjective things here, but yes, a lot of the things in Christian bookstores are junk simply because too many Christians think something is "good" just because it mentions Jesus, and they no longer care about artistic excellence. I used to work in a Christian bookstore, and saw too much of it...

  • @NOTAFAN2323 If we're going to use art and creativity (which is part of the "image of God" in us) to say things about God, then we should work harder at making the art excellent. Franky Schaeffer wrote a book about this called "Addicted to Mediocrity." Also, I've seen Toby Mac in conert, and I'll agree that he's one of the better Christian artists. Not ALL of them are bad, fortunately.

  • I like say Xmas in txt or type. The X means Christ. look it up. I use Christmas when Im talking. I dont like religion but I believe in God. Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Hmm, Sorry for double posting, But atleast they have the guts to come out and say what they feel :P I dont see aethists putting up songs about how their aethists. Wonder why....

  • @younoob2017 Because you probably wouldn't listen to them anyway? But, uh, check Symphony of Science, dude.

'Won't you listen to reason/Will you open your eeeeeeeyes?'

  • Jesus was most likely born in the summer if you go by the biblical account when shepherds were out tending their sheep. The 25th was used to celebrate Mithra's birthday and the early christians just celebrated christ's birthday then to compete with Mithra's worshipers. The season is the reason for the season, it's cold and miserable and everyone's looking for an excuse to celebrate. Some people want to be inclusive of all believers and non-believers when they give goodwill. Get over it.

  • @RattyRandnums Really? If what you're talking about is that the shepherds would have put the sheep in caves or something if it was winter, I checked a globe and found that Israel is at about the same...which was the horizontal line...well, the same distance away from the North Pole as Florida. It never gets that cold in Florida, I'm sure of it. I'm not saying that Jesus wasn't born in summer, but I don't think the shepherd thing is valid evidence of the fact.

  • @AelitasWings

Christmas is a combination of several pagan solstice festivals most notably the northern European Yule and the Roman Dies Natalis Sol Invicti. It has no actual connection to god or Christ and is still around only because people didn't want to stop celebrating the solstice after converting.

The sun is the reason for the season, Jesus got tacked on later.

  • @CzechAvailabilitie I knew that, actually.

  • Merry Yule!

  • Merry Christmas!!

    Thank You JESUS!!!

  • Yes, people are easily offended. Like when they get their panties all in a twist because someone wishes them a "happy holidays" instead of a "merry christmas".

  • This reminds me of something:

People are easily offended. That's why many (stupid) people type "Xmas" instead of "Christmas". It's their way of speaking out against their religion. Religion also has to do with saints, yet people don't restrain themselves from saying "Happy St. Patrick's Day". They need to see the errors of their ways.

  • "It's ironic that people use "Happy Holidays" in order to avoid giving a nod to religion, since the word "holiday" comes from "HOLY day."" So why do people get so butthurt about "happy holidays" then? As a Christian I would just as well that the big corporate retailers didn't use my religion in a crass attempt to get me to buy some junk made by a Chinese sweatshop worker.

  • @bcattwood I agree with you re:Christian merchandise. And unfortunately, Christians fall for that too often. Visit any Christian book/gift/music store and the vast majority of what you'll find is junk. This is especially true of lots of the music and "art."

  • "Any" word containing CHRIST is on the liberal chop block, i.e. CHRISTmas. This demonstrates the signs of end-time Bible prophesy - a 'great' falling away from CHRIST first. "2Th:2:3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, *except there come a falling away first*, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"=Anti-Christ. Wars & rumors of wars, earthquakes, erratic weather = end-time, not global warming. BHO = A-C precursor. Worse is coming. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • I'm tired of these gawt dang Christians taking our god damned Yule. C'mon folks LETS TAKE BACK THE SOLSTICE and last time i checked Religion didn't have a monopoly on the sacred. GETTR DUNNNN

  • It's ironic that people use "Happy Holidays" in order to avoid giving a nod to religion, since the word "holiday" comes from "HOLY day." So whether you say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays," you're still acknowledging (at least verbally) that it's a holy day. Even though Jesus probably wasn't actually born anywhere near 12/25, we can still celebrate it then.

  • @chrisbranscome We're not exactly dodging religion; we're being all inclusive. Not everyone celebrates Christmas, so just saying "Happy holidays" also covers Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid-al-Adha, and multiple other traditions without explicitly mentioning them.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 I'm sure there are some people are being inclusive, but there are plenty of people who use the term "Holiday" specifically as a substitute for "Christmas," like stores that sell "Holiday Trees," which have nothing to do with Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Eid al Adha.

  • @chrisbranscome Families with one Jewish parent and one Christian parent often have a 'holiday tree' to cover both, and my Asatru-practicing pagan friend puts up evergreens in his house for the original purpose that his pagan ancestors did over 1,000 years ago.

Christmas trees are just a silly little pagan tradition anyway.

  • @sadakokimono Interesting. I didn't know that trees were part of the Jewish holiday tradition. But yes, if we're going to be strictly original with our trees, we need to call them Saturnalia trees.

  • @chrisbranscome It's a modern blending of traditions, but it's not uncommon to find a menorah and a tree in a multi-faith household, where the kids will take their Hanukkah presents at the tree, and then take their Christmas presents there, too (assuming, of course, that they get presents specific to both holidays--probably from each set of grandparents, at least). Some even jokingly call it the 'Hanukkah Bush'.

  • For those of you complaining about how using "X-Mas" is bad because it removes "Christ," please do some research first. You'll find that "X" is the Greek letter "chi," which has been used for thousands of years to mean "Christ," and the use of "X-mas" to mean "Christmas" has been around since the 1500's.

  • The people who don't like this video/song seem very negative, sad and angry. Its too bad, God bless you all and Merry Christmas. That just sounds better.

  • Happy Hanukkah, everybody! :D

  • @ipimeens first off no need to curse and how did you know if we Christians stole the name and does it really matter. The point is Jesus came to earth so he could die on the cross and that's all that matters

  • christmas is not a christian holiday. Fucking idiots.

    You just stole the name

  • @ipimees Atheists aren't assholes. Shut up. You make us look bad.

  • I love this and will always say Merry Christmas! It's called freedom of speech in case anyone forgot!

  • They say Happy Holidays in order to keep people from being offended. But I am offended that I can't say what December holiday I celebrate. I have to hide the fact that -->I<-- celebrate Christmas. Its the same way for the Jews who celebrate Haunuka (Sorry about the spelling) and for everyone else who celebrates something else. Most people DON'T CARE if you say Merry Christmas... they can correct you!! Just like if you tell an Atheist God Bless You after they sneeze. GET OVER IT YA PANZIE!!!!

  • @electragoob Wow, so you live in Iran? Because the last I checked, nobody was physically stopping you from saying 'Merry Christmas'. Even if it's a rule in your workplace (the cashiers where I worked were encouraged to say 'Happy Holidays', but no one ever got in trouble over the issue), that's not actually preventing you from saying the word 'Christmas'. It's including the customer who celebrates Hanukkah to say 'Happy Holidays', not excluding Christian customers.

  • @electragoob You have to hide that you celebrate Christmas?!?!?!?! What a bunch of complete bullshit. This country is majority Christian, with EVERY president being Christian, and every grocery store, post office, and restaurant playing music about your imaginary friend. As an atheist, I find this whole season ridiculous. It was a pagan holiday, now it's a massive capitalist selling orgy aimed at glorifying a mythical baby hero figure. And also Santa Claus. You people are insane.

  • What is the matter with most of you? So Christians have one day out of the year they celebrate as Jesus's birthday. So what if it isn't that very day. This has been going on for a long time. The point of the song is people are trying to take the Word Christmas out of it. For example, what about Cinco de Mayo? Should they call it Happy Holidays to American Mexicans or Happy Mayo or Happy cinco no they would be offended cuz it's called Cinco de Mayo. Ok now does anyone on here comprende???

  • Merry Christ mas!

  • Once, while ringing up a woman's Christmas purchases and discussing this very topic, I brought up the fact that it was the first day of Hanukkah that day. She replied "Really? It's a holy time for all of us, isn't it?"

THAT'S what the phrase 'Happy Holidays' is about. It's not about trying to EXCLUDE Christians, but trying to INCLUDE everyone else, who also wants to have a happy December with their family and friends, celebrating peace and goodwill toward men in their own way.

  • Love the video...fix the spelling errors...it make us look like idiots.

  • I love it !!! Its about Christmas and it can't be taken away !!!!!!!

  • many stories in the Old Testament are also plagiarized from other cultures mythologies and theologies.they hold little weight compared to the much older traditions but even those we can’t really call them original. I would also like to add that the Old Testament has the shortest and most vague versions of these stories and often only fuel’s more questions then answers. also The god that Jesus called Father was not the god in the Jewish bible.

  • eventually just like all other gods before him, myth started to shape and take on new forms as this mystery religion spread across many regions. Eventually the Roman Empire adopted this mystery religion and nationalized it under the rule of Constantine and this finished it off and they (Romans) chose which manuscripts would be considered cannon (for the Christian Gnostics had many, hundreds of manuscripts and writings).
