To do the reverse pivot grab, instead of using the C-Stick, you can use the A instead....

You just run then press A, then quickly turn the other direction and grab! Alot easier!

When the people who made halo 3 physics make a smash bros game there will be advanced techniques. Trust me my cousin played on game battles and he knew the craziest advanced techniques.

alot of so-called "advanced" techniques are better in principle than in tactical execution, and it's a whole other thing to be able to effectively use one in actual battle against an equally skilled opponent

my only qualm is there's no representation of any of these technqiues' effectiveness in an actual battle- they're all being perfomed against a non-moving 2nd player. i'm waiting for someone to provide a video demonstration of this caliber for performing moderate to extremely advanced techniques against actual cpu or likewise advanced human opponents.

This is actually a really good compilation of a lot of general techniques that everyone should learn if they don't know them already. These videos need to exist, I wish this existed when I was learning all of these so I wouldn't have had to dig through 20 different threads for the info.

Every character can do a reverse grab or reverse attack so technically you didn't create it or make it because I remember when I did Link's Up+B on the ground and reversed it (not that it matters) and plus, haven't you seen the CPU Bowser do his reverse flame? In the air? He always does it. You didn't make it up, I say the CPU did and it was programmed for them, whenever they want to do it.

And second of all, how can you say you created if you didn't make the game? Lol.

turning around with special attacks existed back since melee. Any true competitive smasher already knows most of this. However some are almost useless under official tournament rules (glide throw). The reason being that items are banned in most tournaments, can still be done though (turnips, power suit pieces, gyro, etc.) Overall a good video for smashers new to competitive battling. 5/5

It's great for covering a good amount of terrain while your opponent is incoming from above, or when you simply wanna send him flying upwards unpredictably.

Foxtrotting in Brawl+(if you don't know, Google) is VERY easy, especially when you throw a dash dance in there as well. Confusing as hell to other people, not as useful as other techniques, and kinda hard on classic controller, it can be very....strange. If you can incorporate that into a combo, you're a god in my eyes!

whlie hugging a cliff, press down so you let go and fall. Then immediatly do the Resscue Jump (B+Up) and land on the stage. Characters like Link can so easyly reenter the stage, even if a opponent in camping at the cliff

I've been meaning to try these out with a bunch of characters to see how all of their running Up-Smashes, Jump-Cancelled Up-Smashes, and Smash Boosting compare. Haven't gotten around to it though.

Could somebody explain to me the general difference between a Jump-Cancelled Up Smash and Smash Boosting (as named in this video)?

Is it the distance you achieve while moving? (Hard to tell in this video because he doesn't use the same characters as examples for both techniques)

I used characters according to how far they go. Jump-Cancelled Up Smashes overall go less far than Smash Boosting but not everyone's Smash Boost goes far. If there's a point where you'd want to do an up smash and are contemplating whether or not to JC, it's not really efficiant to JC, so you should just stick with normal Up Smash. Smash Boosting is a lot better than JC/Normal Up Smash for Sheik(crazy hard to do though), Snake, Sonic, Wario, Jigglypuff, Falco and some others. Hope this helped.

While Smash Boosting, the characters seem to slide a distance relatively equal to the distance they move when performing a dash attack. This is pretty evident with Snake, and how he GLIDES across stages with that fucker. At least, that's how it looks to me.

Is using the C-Stick absolutley ESSENTIAL when performing these techniques? Can you replace a regular smash (as in, using the joystick in the necessary direction and the attack button) for a C-stick tap in any or all techniques shown in this vid?

Like I said in the video, there are multiple ways to do smash boosting. I, myself, find C-Sticking it to be the easiest way. As for doing other techniques, I'm pretty sure you can replace a regular smash with C-Sticking.
