  • <3 this

  • I like Lulu, Aretha Franklin, Petula Clark, Blondie, Hole, Metallica, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, Joy Division, Prodigy, Offspring, and many other strange things, but I can't stand opera... or Justin Bieber..

  • Lol, so full of life compared to the other version by The Shangri-las

  • FUS RO DA

  • APRES SKI SONG!

  • LUlu was and still is AWSOME!

  • I have an English boyfriend. I had to inform him that a lot of English pop hits for this era were not original but covers of American stuff. (bbc banned most American music). I also found out that Dusty Springfield was not a young black girl from Detroit. Who knew?

  • 240p we meet again :)

  • @Dilaybloodsucker The BBC did "not ban most US music",in fact the Brit charts were totally dominated by American acts or at least covers until the mid 60s when Beatles/Stones etc etc took over. Usually they banned due swearing, sex/drug refs, advertising, religion etc often v controversially and most times when BBC banned a record it was guaranteed to go racing up the charts- often to No 1

  • PSYCHIATRIC NURSE

  • I don't believe that this is 1965. This song was a hit in 1963 and the clothes of the audience also point to that date. lulu was 15 when it was a hit and looks very young here.

  • @vonroon23 Shout - Highest place UK charts 7 in May 1964 --Lulu [aged 15] & The Luvvers She was born Nov 1948 close to myself Of course the song was first released by the Isley Bros 1959. A great alltime classic and when she first came on the box [not this recording] we all knew this was special

  • Great ! But will she blend ?

  • Great Days only 10% of the houses locked there doors day or night.

  • Super

    TheCARENTAN

  • Every time I hear this now I think of that scene in Ab Fab with Lulu when Edina says ' you haven't done anything since Shout'..

  • gotta love those 60's bras. They one Lulu is wearing would stop a .357 hollow point.

  • aww Lulu! a wee cutie with a big voice ;-)

  • a great band that got no recognition here in the US,I'd love to find some EPs or LPs they did, since they're probably long out of print!

  • they didn't use mics or what? What's up with that?

  • @thejtamez lip syncing without pretending they were singing

  • @harrykee huh???

  • @thejtamez No, they used to lipsync in little shows like this (beacuse of technology) but they never lipsynced in concerts or big events (like awards ceremonys and such)

  • what a voice coming out of the little baby! great thanks!

  • brilliant

  • ahhhhh 60's musics are so freakin great... Best music of the 20th and 21st century!!!!

i mean music being produced today can't compansate with this!!!!

  • @sjeffke1989 u bet they are

  • @sjeffke1989 wtf youtube is trippinnn ballzzz

  • She does a decent cover, but the Beatles did the best cover when it was early 1964.

  • nice song originally by the ishley brothers

  • Just think. Your mum or pop could be dancing in the audience!

Such an amazing voice in such a small package.

  • saw her on Sat! She's still got it!

  • I'm a little surprised this was done in '65 for two reasons. 1) The song was very dated (since '59?) and 2) the British Invasion was in full swing in '65, making this very dated.

  • @srercrcr STFU

  • What a voice!

  • it still works!!!

bumps of a goose all over!

  • They should jump at the end, silly munters!

  • @ubetahear FUCK OFF

  • @alisonsdragonfly or else?

  • grandiose! superbe! magnifique! j'adoooooore!

  • I think Lulu is great, but I can't help but wonder how the performance would have been if she had actually sung it instead of lip-synching. It sounds like a song that is really hard on someone's voice to sing (because of all the shouting..LOL).

  • Lulu must have done WWWEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL for her self over the years

  • 59 people have a sore throat

  • i wish i was young is this years

  • Great performance (though personally I preferred her To Sir with Love and Leave a Litte Love. But what I shall ALWAYS remember about this song is a 15/16 year old English girl performing it on holiday at a hotel in Turkey (Ovacek? possibly) 6 or 7 years ago - she was (obviously) only an amateur yet performed a SENSATIONAL performance of it!!!

  • Like if you searched for this because of Celeb Juice!

  • @Seb241993 awesome movie lol

  • Bang tidy!

I bet some people in the generation before the Rolling Stones, Doors, The Beatles etc thought that it was crappy music. Lulu we love you song!

  • @topbluffa1 How old was she here? I had a crush on her when she did "To Sir With Love."

  • @millstap She was 14...no arguements please folks. She lived five minutes from my house and she was a year older than me.

  • Every generation has their favorites. It doesn't necessarily mean it was good. Fortunately for me, (I grew up in the '60's and 70's) my generations music is and was the best. Why do you think they call it "Classic Rock"?

  • like a bottle of wine got better wiv age

  • Not bad for 17 years old in 1965. She looks absolutely stunning now at 62.

  • To Brenda Lee

  • This is the best version of this song in my opinion. haha :D

  • @demyxgurl Check the original Isley Bros version....

  • @billydotleeds I did and I loved it. lol

  • @demyxgurl Isley Bros were amazing, demyxgurl...hope that inspired you to check more of their songs on yootoob!

  • real music

  • Does anyone have Connie Francis on Ready Steady Go appearance in May 1964 singing MY CHILD...

  • LOVE THE HAIR! LuLu's mom was so happy when she lulu married John Frida of Hair Care Fame because of the million times she LuLu changed her hair styles.

Well still till this day it is still ever changing. Sir David.

  • actually, she's coping Brenda Lee.

  • actually, she's coping Brenda Lee.

  • Im 13 and every day there is some one listening 2 lady gaga or justin bieber and it makes me sick so i bring my phone out and listen to this or led zeplin or stevie wonder or deadmua5 or EZ and theres always some one staring at me and they say what the fuck are you listening to and i say REAL MUSIC BITCH

  • she looks like JUNO TEMPLE... or juno temple looks like Lulu

  • I know if I tried to dance like this right now I too would SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT due to the pain in every disc in my back thrown out.....

  • Looking at this video I can see that Lulu must have watched a lot of the Motown female singers to do them moves because British people didn't know how to dance during that era. By the way, is that a wig she's wearing?

  • Looking at this video I can see that Lulu must have watched a lot of the Motown female singers to do them moves because British people didn't know how to dance during that era.

  • 57 people are in wheel chairs

  • 17 years old when she did this video. 15 when she recorded the song!

  • These kids now a days don't know good music now a days, I may be 30 i love the old music this is where it all came from from these legends Beatles,The doors All the Legends of music there legacy will live forever with there music and songs

  • @Khaoticsoulz your 30 years old. this song is older than you and your talking about the good music shut up

  • you know what i maybe 30 but least i can enjoy the classic music my parents listen to this music and i grew up listening to it so don't fucking judge me when you know nothing about me or my fucking background asshole!

  • Lulu with a great version of this Isley Brothers classic

  • I had that same exact hairdo! She is awesome, love this song.

  • There is an assumption made by people today that original songwriters were properly compensated when their songs got covered. That was not always neccessarily the case in those days. Now imagine you had a hit record long ago and say the Beatles covered it and everybody now thinks it's their song. You'd feel just a little put out, wouldn't you? I'm not referring specifically to the Isley Brothers and this song, but it's happened hundreds (or thousands) of times over the years.

  • it 's what sing cam in modern family

  • Veel mensen zeggen dat vroeger alles beter was. Dit bewijs weer dat eigenlijk best wel klopt.

  • why can't music be like this now :( i love her voice and i just love the song!!!

  • teehee! solid hair!

    I love this music maaannn!!

  • Stocks in hair spray have never been the same.

  • Lulu xxx

  • you should check out the beatle cover of this .... its awesome, maybe not quite as good as the original though

  • So Good Song !!!!!!!

  • I never knew she covered this...WOW, what a great cover!!! This is talent, this is music and she is a class act!!!!

  • The original Duffy.

  • @djguyfarhan if i had to listen to the first list i would find a lenfth of rope and a rafter. the second list is my idea of music heaven

  • @djguyfarhan You got it iant no music today

  • @djguyfarhan what the fuck is Owl City?

  • @djguyfarhan You got those matched up all wrong.

Lady Gaga IS from a Queen song.

Jonas Brothers were more akin to the Monkees or Hermans Hermit or something..

You make it sound like the 60's and 70's didn't have teeny boppers. They did! But - they were much more talented... modern recording techniques can turn mediocre voce into a platinum club hit, that wasn't the case back in the day.

  • @djguyfarhan there has always been crappy pop, it just doesn't necessarily get remembered because it was crappy.

  • @djguyfarhan

    Testify, brother!!!

  • @djguyfarhan

Just because you are completely out of touch with music doesnt mean that great music doesnt still get made.I could list you a bunch of bands that have released incredible albums in the last decade, but I wont as youve clearly decided that music is no longer for you and are no longer willing to dig any deeper than MTV1

Either that or you are under 30 and too ignorant and scared of not fitting in to say you like anything but classic bands youve been told are cool

  • @ringosis

    sure there are.

They hide them in a box,. Today's groups have zero talent, and cant write a song to save their live.

Sorry you missed the golden era of rock, denying it doesn't change that fact.

  • @ringosis List please.

  • @djguyfarhan i hope you die of cancer

  • @djguyfarhan immature fucker

  • @djguyfarhan you're missing the point a little bit. you've listed a bunch of modern artists marketed to a pop audience and compared them with groups from a different time period that had completely different demographics. in the 60s and even today, lulu has always been seen as a bit of fluff. but that doesn't stop this song being amazing

  • @djguyfarhan hell yeah

  • @djguyfarhan ok i agree with ya but that 95% is bollocks

  • @djguyfarhan

I wish I could give what you said TWO thumbs up. I could not agree more, I hate the rap crap out today. Sixties music era is the best, IMO.

  • @djguyfarhan ,I say my daughter is 20 and she love the doors and gaga and hanna montanna and the rolling stones and owl city and led zeppelin and the jonas brothers and the beatles and justin bieber and queen and taylor swift and acdc , and iam 45 and i feel the same !Think about it ,when Elvis arived in the houserooms of my parents parents, theyalso say that there music was the best and elvis was from the devil ....Grow whit the yought and there music dont stay still ore you get realy old !
