Pure genius. Sublime. This is what I want playing in the background at my funeral--to celebrate the pure joy of our time on earth. Thanks Don for this masterpiece.
Simply sublime. This is the music I want playing at my funeral--because I want it to be a time of celebration of our precious time on earth. Thanks Don for creating this masterpiece.
what a beautiful piece of music. never fails to bring tears to my eyes everytime i listen to this tune.....thank you mr. pullen, for your truly remarkable music, god bless and rest in peace.
Don Pullen was, and still remains, one of my favorite musicians of all time. More than almost any other pianist, he was a master of the extremes - from serene beauty like this song to all-out free jazz excesses...and it all came across as totally gripping. May he rest in peace, wherever he is.
Pullen comes back to life and shines light, life and breath to us all with this beautiful gift of generosity. What would life be without moments of sharing music within? Hearing the connection, beyond the ivories, beyond notes, words. "Just listen," as Coltrane once told a friend. Gratefullness. Thank you Aparxa, thank you Pullen.
The range of ability that Don Pullen showed on the piano is amazing. From this absolutly beautiful piece to his work with George Adams and his last album were he combined Native North American Music with jazz. He was and still is incredible!
I know that I'll never be able to hear all of the beautiful music ever written. But when the day comes that I leave this earth, I can go happy knowing that I've at least heard this one.
Thank you very much for posting. This song is one of my very all time favourites since at least fifteen years, I only knew two versions, one with the afro-brazilian connection group, and other solo similar to this one but at same time very different. Pure magic

This reminds me alot of KJ's Koln #1 the way it developes albeit in a more easy and less virtuosic manner
