Awesome video - I admit I don't know anything about carrier landings. Simple question, at 1:17, it seemed like you had the tailhook down - is that normal or was that because this was training? Again, just a simple question, not trying to judge or condemn...

it was down, you drop the hook at altitude in case it doesn't come down- you'll have more gas for a shorter bingo back to shpre w/o a climb.
