This is one of two things. mod or devolper pitch. Whe n it came out they were still spitting out ideas of who to kill and how to kill them. This was probably a pitch. if u notice bairds white eyes. thats a sign of being lambent which is the main prob in gears of war 3 and if you know anything about it you will know that in gears 3 many of the characters die. so this could have been like a well liked idea that they put into a somewhat accurate story board. but baird does betray in gears 3.
