You can bump a rifle without it and I have seen peole bump pistols without it but even with the stick it's hard to hit the broad side of a barn door. Bumping a pistol with just your fingers could send bullets everywhere. I carved my stick to resemble a stock but it coud just be a 2x6 with a dowel in one end.

Does this look like a public range? Do you see shooting tables, other people, a road? My parents own all the land that can be seen in this video. Next time ask a question or two before you espouse your opinion on something YOU know nothing about.
