I was wondering that too. I'm not Mormon, but Catholic. Listening to the words it seems like it could be used for any Christian denomination, though I've never heard it used in my Church. Minus one of the last verses that talks about "celestial glory" (not in this recording) cause that definitely has a Mormon twist to it :s

I love this song. About 6 years ago my 7 week old nephew Conner passed away. My sister (his mother) was not a member of the Church or any church for that matter. I told her I would take care of the funeral arrangements. My Bishop agreed to conduct the service. We had 6 full-time missionaries serving in our ward. I had them sing this song and there wasn't a dry eye around when they sang. To this day when I hear this song I feel very emotional. All the Osmonds rock!
