Warning! Sandcastle is protected by sheer mass of 10-15 tons to climd to top of fortified Keep. Owner has 2 Catapults and one brass cannon plus 2 army tanks! Powerplant: Dutch windmills and supplied by railroad! Has several dungeons but only one thone room!
In that case perhaps I shall build a sand trebuchet and fire from a distance :-) I just had a thought...If I took a bucket of cement and used it as a base then the sandcastle would probably last until the council got a bulldozer onto the beach....
That sounds like a good idea, a short documentary on Drip Sandcastles.
How'd you get the train to run? Was there a generator available. These were great but your ships in a bottle and scratch built Tall ships are way cool.- J
The train is powered by a 350 inverter (external) plugged into a mtorcycle battery that will run it at a slowspeed for about 5 hours on a 12 volt battery. for a major event you will need 3!
Yes this is a drip castle! I will have to post a video on the technique later but you must use a muddy clay like sand in order to essentually pull these ultra thin latice work and tall towers. Each brick seen is actually a kind of shaped mudball that is stacked brick by brick!
It is so complicated I may have to answer that with another video!
Also wanted to add ,What is the beach in the UK like...?
I have not seen any one else do this type of sand Castle except for one guy who is in the Philippines who also happens to light his castles with torches at night.
Hi Sanddragon! The sand on the coast where I am (south coast) is unfortunately dry big grained stuff imported from probably the Sahara or something! I wondered whether you could take a bucket of clay slip to the beach and build towers anyway. Might try it when the weather warms up.
Supp SandDragon Cool castles. See you in the airsoft field!

...how the hell....did you curve the sand like a bridge...>.> and how did you make it no crumple down??!?!

@likatiger Built a sand keystone to afix the arch and it was molded by hand until the key stone was laid.
whats really neat about these type of sandcastles is that some are actually built brick by brick in some of there elements... nothing here is carved!

Spectacular! When you say 'dripped', just what is the process involved? I live near the coast in the UK. They could do with seeing stuff like this!

I created a new video that shows how to drip build a sand tower which is really really tall!
If you do try this technique, try short towers first and then try to break the limits!

I have worked very tough beaches like this and some structural elements are not always possible.
Determined proffesionals often have a specific sand hauled to a site to fit their standards.
The Sand is like a Dragon so expect a battle!
